I have a place in my heart for the pop-up. I still have my old one, 2000 Dutchmen. I love the feeling of sleeping outdoors, but indoors and off the ground. I love that they've done the through the wall A/C, much like the mods done by people on the older units, today. It works! Love the bunk strip lights. If I could still use a pop-up for my primary camping, I would, but daughter's special needs pushed us in a 22rb Jay Feather this past year. I hope the love for pop-ups never fades. Thanks Josh.
Thanks for taking time to do a pop-up my man! Removeable cook top and bunk fans are a must though. And not sure about black canvas to attract the sun. THE Best is no $70,000 pickup truck required! Can't beat and ol' fashioned style pop up. At 2100 lbs with A/C, electric heat, hot water, and power lift? Well done! We love our popup. We paid $3500 CDN for our used 2007 Rockwood Freedom 1940 LTD in 2017 and easily tow it with our Dodge caravan. Looking for a travel trailer now. Keep up the great work Josh!
2011-2022 was our last popup with minimal cost & maximum memories. A great addition was popup gizmo bunk end covers. Helped keep camper cooler & top cleaner. Thank you FR for keeping a smaller option for novice (future) Rv buyers. Thank you Josh for reviewing what other channels pass by.
It's nice that it comes with stuff that works for line power while keeping some options for when that's not possible. Some manufacturers do kinda neglect one or the other on that.
Loved the first and only pop up we had when we re-started camping again like 8 years ago it was a used Flagstaff and it worked great. Their products are solid!!! Great memories ❤️ Thank you Josh! This new one is really cute and love the ac/ and heater in that location! He eat little unit! 👍
Some of our fondest memories camping was in our pop-up by the ocean with all of the windows open, and the only features we had were a built in “cooler”, a stove top, and 10 gallons of cold water👍👍👍
I love pop-ups. I’ve always wanted one, I wanted it to be my first family camper. Unfortunately it just never happened, but hey, I still think it’s a great camper!😊
It seems kinda weird they have that weird bit of table space by the door, but didn't make it big enough to hold a unit. It does seem like a popup design with a bit of space for a popup wetbathroom/closet space isn't really too crazy. It'd only take up a little more space. but definitely would be worth it for most people. Worst case, they just have a closet. I can already see rough designs in my head now.
Love to see you doing videos on a pop-up To me, these are the original travel trailers Would love to see you review the OTG models in depth Keep up the fantastic work Nerd
Back when we were first married, this would have been on the list. Because we were broke :P Some how we went from dome tent to travel trailer! lol. Glad these Tent Campers still exist.
Lol the memories come flooding back of my childhood and my grandmother and grandfather’s first campers which were pop-ups. Although back in you would wake up with lots of Skeeter bites lol. I do like the modifications and the upgrades to this one. And yes, definitely I would reconsider Getting a pop-up. But to be honest, I’m still kind of pumped about getting a four wall camper. Due to the fact that a travel nurse and that just makes more sense especially since it’s freaking freezing up here in Colorado lol. Other than that cool video Josh. Keepem coming.
I loved the pop up I had as a kid. It was the high wall and had a slide dinette. I always thought that was cool and the high wall having taller counters.
This is nice, my idea of camping, can get it into most small campgrounds, or near a lake, my brother has a 43 ft, 6 slide 5th wheel, he keeps pushing me to get something big, but this is more up my alley, my 2500 RAM wouldn't even know it was back there. 😅
Like that rock wood is still making pop ups. I can’t find a brand that makes them any more. The inside space is good. Love that it comes with a Ac know. I never camped in a pop up before but to me this looks like one of the nicer pop ups? Thank you!
Looks a lot like my old Flagstaff 625D. Great little popup but its a bit much for most smaller SUVs. Mine had nearly 500lb hitch weight, made my crossover squat really bad. Bought a Colorado and it pulled it like a champ.
The location of the AC puzzles me. I get what you're saying about not having the weight of an AC unit on the roof. But, with the AC on the floor and crammed in a corner near the lounge area doesn't seem like it would do much actual cooling.
Much needed updates. Dining lounge is cool. But, would love to see them take kitchen outside on pull out like the off road. Take a look at Air Opus. Their kitchen are awesome
I used to have a coleman pop-up when my kids were little. Now that I have an empty nest and I'm single, I've been thinking of getting a motorcycle tent trailer, because they don't weigh much. But I miss the kitchen in them, if I went for a pop-up, I'd have to upgrade my car. If I upgrade my car, I think I'll look for a small hardsided camper.
For myself, I would rather use a propane stove not in a tent-like structure, but have a small toilet sink setup for toddlers to go pee at 10pm and 6am and 8am and 10am....
Have a 99 pop up and still can't find one that's better. It's FAR more spacious and quality and thoughtfully put together. Can't beat 2 king beds and a large couch to hang out in. Still have it as it is better than anything new. Has all the things.
My family just went down 1/3. Cousins and uncles with TDS felt like they had to call 2/3 of the family how much they detest us. Great. More food for us at thanksgiving. Shocked it took this long. They are “unliving” to me.
My mom had one when i was a kid. It was my personal hang out spot during the summer when not in use. But the price is too close to something like a wolf pup bh which imo is way better
I really like this Josh, very versatile, I’ve never seen a pop up, ever, and started camping as a very young child. I’d still go, but very few of the family would lol, certainly none of the girls! It sounds great that there’s heating and AC. I think I’d be more likely to use one in the UK as we only have adders and other drivers trying to kill us, for the most part!😂 I’d be getting a portable loo though, I don’t care how/where/what/price etc, I want a loo! 😂 #rvnerdherd #nerdherd
Started with an 83 palomino Shetland. Used it until 99 and bought a Coleman Cheyenne unit 2016. Bought a new 34 foot Salem bumper pull and now a Coachman Catalina in 2022. Regret trading my Salem for this pile of garbage. But miss the pop up campers most of all
All for $21,334.00 prices may vary around this very screwed up country we live in. Merican Cultville USA Sorry sorry sorry I just had to say it though. I'm moving to Britain.
It's nice but $20k for a pop-up with so many travel trailers at or near that price point that have heads?!? Sorry my cheap ass can't do it maybe for $8k

I personally perfer a hard side due to bears, and animals sneaking in. Also i do like this one for a pop up! Thanks for the tour! 👏🏼
Bear can rip car door off hard side camper is nothing best is not to attract bears with food outside where they can get it
@@chesterwright8462 Yes, but a hard sided camper just makes me feel safer inside. 👍🏼

Started in a tent 50+ years ago, then pop-up, back to tent, then 2-man Military tent, then my own pop-up and now our 2nd travel trailer, Damm I'm old😂
You're not old you're seasoned. That means you're spicy. 😂 Try that on the wife.

I like not needing a truck to tow this. The updates are appreciated, too.
I love pop-ups. I’ve always wanted one, I wanted it to be my first family camper. Unfortunately it just never happened, but hey, I still think it’s a great camper!😊
I really like the updated touches.
Improvements:
-Fans on the bed slide supports with the light strip.
-A gray tank.
-At least a portable potty.
It seems kinda weird they have that weird bit of table space by the door, but didn't make it big enough to hold a unit.

Their 23/28 sports enthusiast models have a wetbath/casset toilet as well as a front cargo rack from 5ft to 8ft long.
Just bought my first trailer after listening to Josh. But still enjoying listening and learning !
Love to see you doing videos on a pop-up To me, these are the original travel trailers Would love to see you review the OTG models in depth Keep up the fantastic work Nerd
Pop-ups have come a long way. I've seen one that had a slide out!
I miss my little PuP. My wife likes the hard side and the ease and amenities a hard shell offers.
Back when we were first married, this would have been on the list. Because we were broke :P Some how we went from dome tent to travel trailer! lol. Glad these Tent Campers still exist.

Thanks Josh! That wheelie could be exciting. 😂

If you like to truly camp this is the way go which is a step up from tent camping.
Like that rock wood is still making pop ups. I can’t find a brand that makes them any more. The inside space is good. Love that it comes with a Ac know. I never camped in a pop up before but to me this looks like one of the nicer pop ups? Thank you!
I'm very interested int their sportsman series with the front cargo bed for motorcycles

Much needed updates. Dining lounge is cool. But, would love to see them take kitchen outside on pull out like the off road. Take a look at Air Opus. Their kitchen are awesome
I know! Maybe popups would be more popular if builders actually put some effort into them like this
@@JoshtheRVNerd I'd love to see you walk through an OP4!

Josh: Wife and I have lots of memories in our two pop-ups; some good, some bad, but NONE worth getting another pop-up over. Respectfully, W.S.
A big improvement over my old 2003 Viking PUP

Are the bed supports attached to the beds like the used to be on Coleman’s? I wish Rockwood would license the old Coleman lifter system
It's actually not bad!! #Nerdherd! 🇨🇦
I wish they would change the refrigerators to a portable fridge dual zone on a draw slide.
one with bathroom?

Divide and conquer
What's with the grab handle between the sink and stove..???
My mom had one when i was a kid. It was my personal hang out spot during the summer when not in use. But the price is too close to something like a wolf pup bh which imo is way better
No more baby hammocks!😮😂

We live in a condo and don't have a driveway to leave it open to dry if it's wet. So only hard sided trailers for us unfortunately.
Good video Josh
My pleasure!
Is it all vinyl, no canvas on the sides?
does this come with the lead acid / lithium auto detect?
Does it still take 30 minutes to set up?
We never chose a pop up because they are just tents. In California, bears are happy to help themselves to the contents. Only a hard side will work.
Bears just call them "Rolling Burritos" lol
I've camped in tents all my life in the California Sierras. Just gotta make sure you don't put food in your tent. Never ever had encounters.
Question have you seen the forest river viking rok models?
I have not
@JoshtheRVNerd they seem to be similar to geo pro the 1100rok and 1300rok seem very interesting
Also look at the normal viking line up the 14r, 18fq and 242mk look interesting
Definitely tempting, but I think I still lean towards the GoPlay 26BH for my large 6 person family.

Sorry sorry sorry I just had to say it though. I'm moving to Britain.
Never again , never again. 😅
Failed to show how the one piece door is stowed when lowering the top.
If i mentioned it and didnt circle back, then sorry about that. It would stow up on the rooftop like basically all popups
It's nice but $20k for a pop-up with so many travel trailers at or near that price point that have heads?!? Sorry my cheap ass can't do it maybe for $8k
Why do they have to be small?
I've seen some with 3 beds and slide outs.
#RVNerdHerd 😊 🎉 😊
👍💥
The soft side just doesn’t give me a secure feeling for my family or my stuff.
Why screw with what they are called in the title. They are pop ups not deflate collapsible bs
Make popups great again. ;-) nice.
