I feel judging was based on crowd and fans and not on technique. It was obvious some were better than the crowd favorites.

I think that each competitor actually has a specific group of supporters since people don't just randomly go to an wushu competition to spectate so how much the crowd seems to like the competitor is just based on how loud they cheer

People who learns martial arts are enhanced with Chi that enhances them physically and emotionally, my tutor is a Taichi master and ever move he does from walking down the stairs to sitting on a chair shows that he’s relaxed but is ready to defend himself any time.

    这届选手个个英气勃勃,俊朗飘逸。在其他比赛中偶尔看到疏眉小眼的,也许是南方人浓眉大眼居多?

this is kung fu ballet, this is dancing. if martial arts can not fight, why you practise it ? you can go to learn ballet !

You are such an ignorant, this is not dancing, this is Chang Quan, one of the hundreds of styles in chinese martial arts, it's acrobatic and has got a lot of flying kicks. Your lack of knowledge makes you see that this is ballet, this style is as demanding as the other forms of Wushu

there is a part of wushu for contact fighting, it isn't as interesting to watch and requires a lot of endurance and stamina. you train to master this "dancing" part first to gain the fitness you need for the sparring part. Same in taekwondo and karate, you master the forms first before you even consider full contact fighting. The problem is that wushu sparring isn't regulated and isn't in any olympics because there are literally hundreds of types from all regions of china. most schools just stay with the dancing part, and competitions are about the dancing part too.
