That number 48 is a strong character depicting a society in which humane behavior is a disease. He makes the crowd say what they all have a need for: take take take take! He wants the crowd to sing and behave like him (to be different), he makes some revolt and then the people follow him in his act but they all stop as soon as the song is over. Then he is judged guilty of being a black sheep.
Alexis kanneris one of my favorite characters in the prisoner ...love the banter between him and Kenneth giffiths....number 2.....priceless scene..be seeing you..
Yes, as someone said, the Western episode. But also a small part in “The Girl Who Was Death”. Look for the photographer in that one. McGoohan knew that Alexis Kanner had something.
There are people here arguing that Alexis Kanner played a recurring character in this series but he didnt. His other appearances were completefly different roles. This character was meant to represent undisciplined rebellion, rebeliion without purpose.
3:42 You got the message -- takes all you want - take - take - take - take - take - take - take well something is wrong with the society... you got the message ?
@@misfit2022 Indeed, Mcgoohan is dead, so is Kanner, Mckern, Colin Gordon, Peter Wyngarde and Angelo Muscat, of the actors I remember of the series only Darren Nesbitt is still alive.
@@g.sergiusfidenas6650 I meant what happened in terms of where did he go as I thought he was good? Sometimes I watch these old series and wonder why they never became household names. Thanks
@@misfit2022 With some of them might just had been bad luck regardless of their talent, Kanner here for example looks like he could had been a big star; when I think of similar cases William Petersen comes to mind if never had made CSI I think he would had completely faded into obscurity even though he was in two excellent movies in the 80s that could had made him a big name had they not flopped back then, both movies became cult movies eventually but even with CSI's success Petersen never became an A lister.

Perfect 🤗
Exactement 👌👏👏👏👏❤
Hear the word of the Lord.
You got to admit, Alexis Kanner was great in this, despite playing different characters.
Alexis Kanner was a very talented actor...Sadly no longer with us
Such chaos representative of the times.
Guilty! Read the charge!

Take! Take! Take!
Maybe I left a comment here to remind myself to watch the movie.
advant-garde T.V. for the 60s.
Best boi.
I wish Number 48 was a recurring character in the series and not just introduced in the last episode.
he was in the western episode wasnt he ?
That he was. Great character.

George Orr what’s your game Sherlock holmes!
I wish too. However him only being in the last episode kinda adds to his mystery.
This man would have been excellent in Doctor Who
So would Patrick McGoohan.
I’m the 47th person to like this. Please...just one more!
I feel like this when I'm standing in family court

Now I am here comment 48 🕊️
To see The Simpson episode that parodies the prisoner
I'm here from ReBoot
They did one but ... I'll await for the Real reboot. Sadly I don't think it can ever be done.
@@NiiloPaasivirta I meant the computer animated cartoon from the 90s named ReBoot. They payed homage to the series in an episode
DEM BONES DEM BONES

If I say now I am close 47

I wonder what happened to Alex Kanner?
He died
It was over 50 years ago so I would imagine nearly all the men from this series would have departed

What the hell is going on
An imagination unbound.
Why there's no comment about Jimmie Johnson?
