Welcome back to Unguided, where I'm trying to complete every quest in old school runescape without using a guide, wiki or plugins. I'll only be using my limited knowledge and in-game learnings. Full rules below.
RULES
- No use of OSRS wiki (or any equivalent) for anything - this includes looking up item spawns, quest guides, boss guides, anything
- No use of any other quest helper sites
- No use of quest helper plugin
- Essentially no use of any outside-game assistance
CAVEATS
- I love OSRS RUclips, I might inadvertently learn something I don't know by watching my favourite content creators, but I'm not going to stop watching them so that's just a risk I'm willing to take + it's unlikely going to be relevant for me
- I may use some QoL plugins, but only a few. Loot tracker to prove grinds, ground items so I don't miss drops (and to add cool loot beams lol) and left click to use bones. Nothing that will give me info I didn't previously have
- I'm going to try and avoid any spoiler comments. If you can, please try not to help me if there's an episode where I'm stuck on something. I appreciate the sentiment but telling me an item spawn or quest step could spoil the fun :)

And here I am, playing quests without guides and having a great time. Legends Quest is one of my favourites.

I find it funny that the quest the player is given is "map the jungle and make friends with the locals". That's what qualifies you as a legend, and it's done in 10 minutes. The whole thing with the pure water and the possessed shaman and all the skill checks is an unintended side trek.

No idea why this channel hasn't blown up, it's as good if not better than early by release in my opinion
I'm doing this quest right now for the first time in 20 years and was remembering how hard it was back in the day when quest guides were primitive, and how all the resources we have these days save so much time. I appreciate this video series because it brings me back to the olde daes.

Caught this upload within the first 15 minutes. I've been excited for Legends' Quest ever since this series started. It's a beast of a quest even _with_ a guide. This is going to be a good episode.

Yee haw!!! 🎉🎉 Been so excited for this one. Some other quests down the line I’ll be super looking forward to are Lunar Diplomacy, Desert Treasure, and Mourning’s End Part 2. That one will probably be a 10 hour special lol. I’m fully along for the ride however long it lasts.

Mourning's End Part 2 has some really unfair bits if you're not using a guide. (I know because I tried to do it unguided and finally gave up!) Looking forward to some wild strategies like blowing-up-the-witch's-house 2.0

Legends Quest is one of my favourite quests in the game. Truly one of the last few quests that don't hold your hand but are still amazing. I love the story of the quest, I love the whole Ungadulu part. Man, I spent 2 fucking days beating this quest without a guide and I loved it.
Are there enough in-game hints/clues in the OSRS version to make it possible to complete without a guide? I see that Runescape Classic probably has sufficient hints for certain parts, but not sure if OSRS does as well.

Instant click every time you post. Figuring out Legend's Quest without a guide? The bravery is real.
Something to be mindful of when youre searching for solutions to puzzles. And I dont know if theres a good way for you to have this info, but theres a lot of updates that have become unintentional red herrings, much like in family crest and the 'desert'. But especially with those older quests, discount any solution you're considering that you know was added to oldschool since it became oldschool.

I just finished catching up with this series, this is by far the most interesting and engaging OSRS content I’ve seen. It’s the only series I’ll actually sit down and watch rather than just have playing in the background. Well done, very much looking forward to more!

When I saw your Legend's Quest vid on my recommendations list I knew I had to go try it myself before watching. Made so many trips in & out of the caves with different items & some confusion, but at least I had fairy rings & looked up some stuff. Thanks for motivation!

I encountered this series 2 days ago, good stuff. very enjoyable. small tip that may be handy, if you talk to the ranged and mage tutor in lumbridge, you can toggle that if you pick up ammo that they go directly into the ammo slot if you have that ammo already equipped. and for runes that they go into a rune pouch if you have those runes in there already
Something about this quest is really awesome, the environment is super cool and it's genuinely a little creepy at times (quite an achievement in a game that looks like osrs). Reminds me of Underground Pass a bit; the writing back then was just so much better.
Absolutely, they've never managed to return to this era's unique charm. We were at the pinnacle of quest writing, and didn't know it until years later.
@@DZ-X3 And with minimal dialogue! I think the big downfall of today's quests is all the exposition, rather than letting the environment do the storytelling for you. Sure, the Kingdom Divided plot was pretty cool from a narrative perspective, but playing through it was some of the most boring and frustrating shit I've ever done in rs, and I dread doing that quest on every mid level account I create.
I have been looking forward to this quest! Its such a behemoth and so, so obtuse at times. Love this series, thanks for the really frequent uploads!

I just completed this quest the other day! Even with a guide it took me forever. The amount of things you can fail over and over just makes the long trips to the bank even worse.
Hero's Quest and Shield of Arrav aren't really completable without getting some sort of help. You're good king
Yall we need to get this man more subs views and likes this is such an underrated series and dang i like underdogs 😂😂 but in all honesty with how many guides and tutorials exist this man is an absolute "legend" for doing osrs this way.❤

i remember following a guide for this quest and was like "their is no way someone could do this without a guide"
Honestly, a lot of the old Runescape quests would've been easier on release than they are now because at the time quests would release alongside new NPCs, locations, and items that existed solely for that new quest.
When you play now, there's no way of knowing which NPCs were introduced with which quest and which ones simply exist as part of the world.
Killer series. Can't wait to see if Legends Quest is a two-parter or a three-parter. 😁
This is by far my favorite OSRS series i have watched every episode and been following from the beginning. Keep it up i look forward to the most deserved quest cape ever seen!
Honestly this series is great and is exactly how i figured playing Runescape unguided would be. Like most of the puzzles are actually so well designed in that most of them aren't stuck with madman logic, but you do need to record notes separately to record where youre at with things. Because trying to contain all of the information off of the top of your head is just not practical.
It's a much older approach to game design that doesn't really exist anymore in modern games.
Like modern gaming is based a lot on handholding and recording all information in-game for you, but old games assume that if you're a gamer, then you've plenty of time to waste, because that's what you're already doing.
But also fuck that - I want my qol unlocks, and my unique quest items, so I am going to use a guide all day over constantly backtracking and trial and erroring. But it does make a great show

Awesome stuff man keep it up, the rest of Legends Quest is gonna be rough (though as you read this I assume you're done already, not sure how far in advance you record)
I found your channel about a week ago and been binging it all, I didn't want to comment until I was fully caught up, today is that day. I tried this 4 years ago on a normal account, but I did try not to use the G.E. but used it as a backup. I got about 10 quests in, last one being Ghosts Ahoy, and that quest is nowhere as bad as anything you've done, so this challenge is mainly patience, which I have none. I'm glad you're doing it cause I always wanted to know how people would problem solve these quests and once I knew I couldn't be the guy, very happy someone finally tried. Loved seeing your problem solving skills and that you're confidant at sharing your folly's and thinking process, I really appreciate that you talk, out loud, your thought process, it helps a ton. I wish you the best of luck and will continue watching.

One day you will learn to carry basic quest items with you when you start a quest. Example: spade ,bucket, knife, axe, pickaxe, chisel. Will make banking less frequent as most quests use these items.

You can do it without 90rc. As not to spoil you, i won't say more. Remember, this quest was made for Runescape classic which didn't even have runecraft at the time (it was created at the time of RS2's release to solve the issue of runes being extremely rare and expensive).
