i envy you. this was everything in the the 90's. here in the states we'd go to clubs and then get home and fall asleep to reruns of this at 3am. It's such a ridiculous, fun show.

RIP Kate, anyone remember the series Triangle and Howards Way in the 80's and 90's. Kate also starred in Dynasty as the scheming sister Caress Morell of Joan Collins character Alexis Colby.
I fell in love with Kate after watching these many years ago.

Saffy deserved every bit of her mistreatment. She was really so insufferable.
I also sometimes feel bad for Saffy because her mom and best friend Patsy are often cruel to her. At the same time, though, I can't stop laughing as this show's total French and Saunders fictional comedy. It's never meant taken seriously or offensive. Total fiction. No reality. British shows, unlike American lack censorship. Through their fictional characters, Jennifer Saunders, Dawn French, Joanna Lumley, and all other great actors they work with spoof on everyone's personality extremities. Even theirs. In real life, they're nothing like their characters. They never were nor will be superficial, narcissistic addicts, smokers, or overgrown adolescents. Nor have they ever or will strive influencing that behavior. Thus I never actually have nor will be offended by their wittily funnily fun comedy. No way. Uh-uh. Lol. It's just for comedy. Nothing else.

She was brought in to dynasty because Joan Collins was asking for much more money per episode. If the negotiations failed, then the plan was that Kate's character would replace Alexis.

Kate O'Mara lived in my neighbourhood in England, I kid you not. I often saw her shopping in the local Tesco store. You couldn't miss her with her eyes. One would think she would get someone else to shop for her, but not the case.
I watched this with my mom once and when Jackie checks behind Patsy's ear for facelift scars my mom laughed and shouted "Oooooo! What a bitch!"

Kate O'Mara was a fantastic actress. Whilst this performance is memorable, for me she will always be the Doctor's nemesis The Rani in Dr Who from when I was a kid.

I didn't see many episodes of the other big show she was in, but wasn't she opposite Colin Baker in "The Brothers" for a while? The two of them have great onscreen chemistry and it showed. He was an underrated Doctor too...

I really liked this episode. They didn't show the part where Jackie starts to eat the potpourri or whatever was in the bowl. Ha ha
The one thing I never understood was Patsy helping Jackie steal things from Eddie. I guess Patsy was still intimidated by her own sister.
It doesn't make a whole lot of sense, they just had to wrap up the episode. Jackie told Patsy she was having some money problems. Patsy realised Jackie was no longer the woman she idolized. Eddie told Patsy "You have no morals, darling." this gives Patsy the idea to steal from Eddie to get rid of Jackie. Eddie is so rich she probably never noticed the stuff was missing.
Jackie: "....there's nothing more I hate than being in 'all female' company..." Edina looks at the two Gay Men : "....little does SHE know...." I use that line on almost EVERYTHING in my life! : )

Sadly, this was my family :( My mum actually nicknamed me Saffy and used to call me "Mummy" as a joke. It's funnier in a sitcom than real life!
But in the 2016 AbFab movie, Saffy's daughter Lola Jane is like her grandmother; she is the fashionista like her g-ma.
@@privategirl4716 Saffy was a latchkey kid, which was common among GenX kids like her, plus she was basically raised by her grandparents while her mother and Patsy were doing their own thing. It was more of a parody of the generation gap, if you look at it in context.
