Accident avoided on the M40. Fiesta changes into my lane without looking.

- Driver of a 2014 Ford Fiesta X8 GOO changed into my lane without looking. Their brain was obviously full of GOO at the time. If I hadn't have braked, there would have been an accident. Thankfully it was just a near miss.

Similar happened to us in the M1 , the fabulous Ioniq braked for us... great safety feature.
Had a "better" one than that middle of this week, was on an exit to a supermarket (2 exit lanes) and a fiesta decided to turn right back into the entrance of the store instead of going around the roundabout! Reasons why we are seeing incredibly stupid acts nowadays is the fact that traffic units have been decimated. It will only get worse! Cheers Stuart and good luck!
A regular occurrence these days unfortunately. Did your autonomous braking react ? I know ours reacted well in auto cruise control. Frightening in those conditions though.
Autonomous braking didn't react, presumably because the car was moving in from the side.
Dear oh dear 🥴 plus the camera always tends to make incidents less dramatic than they really were.
Right. If I hadn't have braked, they would definitely have hit me.
