My sister is quite large especially in the tummy. I convinced her to start tucking in her shirt as opposed to a tent like dress. We did a side by side photo and she looked 30 lbs less. I convinced her to stop covering herself up with lots of fabric. She was convinced.

I actually think the black, chunky boot one the “wrong” look, was not only more modern, but functional as well.

I don’t really struggle with weight issues, but I feel that we GenXers are more obsessed with being skinny than other generations. Maybe blame Kate Moss, the girls from Friends, etc. I don’t ever hear younger influencers mention dressing to look taller and slimmer. They seem to be more self accepting of their natural body types. Just an observation. 🤔
I think we just didn’t have anyone trying to dupe us with the “body positivity” lies. There is nothing positive about obesity and unfortunately the generations below us have a radically reduced life expectancy than us, thanks to being told it is fine to be inactive, eat unhealthy processed food and wear plus sized clothing, proudly.
Not all body acceptance is a good thing. Promoting morbid obesity and calling sitting on your butt all day eating and watching Netflix “healthy”, is dangerous. There’s a reason why life expectancy is declining and will decline drastically fairly soon. A healthy body composition is a good thing to strive for.
I agree with both of the the other responses, but I also wanted to mention that younger influencers may say something is more “flattering” or “modern” but when you look at why it is more flattering it is because it makes them look slimmer.
The long grey dress almost looked like a different dress after you belted it! It went from loose and bottom heavy to shapely and body- skimming. The crop jacket was the perfect topper to accentuate the waistline.

How could you possibly know what it's like to do a front tuck with a belly that isn't slim like yours? I used to rock a front tuck but due to a knee injury, I can no longer do the very exercise that kept my belly tight. Believe me, I will not accentuate a belly and that's what I'm dealing with. I mean no disrespect. I think you are beautiful and I love your channel. Please don't take my comment to be mean. I just don't know if you really understand the plight of having a belly that you aren't proud of. I wish you Happy Holidays and I wish me a flat tummy again!

Think you look lovely heather ! But your shoe choices aren’t always practical! I’d look & feel very uncomfortable tottering around in high heels doing a weekly food shop or other things normal women have to do ! Going for lunch with girl friends is ok if your a real housewives of Orange County lol not a British woman freezing her ass off in cold grey winter weather 😂 but love your channel it’s a giggle 🙄
