Belted tires would really help. In my Maxx I dropped the center diff fluid to about 225k. I can still wheelie on demand all day but I can also keep the tires down when I want to. Just a thought.
hello from UK. Why is it wheelying so much? my DR8 on 6S does tiny wheelies and goes faster without as much hard work.. apart from some ballooning that I hope to be fixing soon. Nice video though! 👍🍺🇬🇧
@@MatthewSimm actually it is a long car, the DR8 so maybe that as well. I get mad wheelspin and can drift on dry roads. I thought you were lucky so many times on your video, those posts... anyway stay safe and keep posting. This is one hobby that knows no borders 👍🍺🇬🇧.
In my honest opinion, I wouldn't do it to the stock motor unless you want to fry it I did it for fun for the video, if you want to do it I highly recommend getting a max 8 combo with a 2200kv motor, it's made for 6s, it'll run cool and it'll be even faster!

Awesome Video! I was wondering about this, as I may put a max6 in my Xmaxx soon. I would probably still run my maxx on 4s mostly, but the overkill esc on the Maxx will definitely run cooler then the stock Maxx ESC. Would love to see more videos ...... after you get it fixed. :D

I say it often, the biggest determining factor on our RCs long-term durability is defined by where we choose to bash. That pole was just waiting to do damage!! 😢
Motor temps are going to be really high. That motor isn't even rated for 4s. The only reason why it can handle 4s is because of the fan and heatsink. Even after a good 4s run mine is too hot to touch.
I agree dude, after a 4s ash mine is hot too, it didn't get hot in this video however it want fully bashing etc... I might try as lowering the gearing and see how that goes
Traxass tough baby. Just kidding, nothing could take that hit. Doesn't seem like a good conversion, no point if it doesn't stay on its wheels even with the wide max kit.

Are you using stock gearing? I upgraded to 6s and keep shredding the pinion, spur, input and diff gears

If you haven’t already, put the progressive springs on it and you’ll see a huge difference in the way it drives
Exactly what I’m doing to my maxx after my 4s esc quit working after a couple battery packs and I’m hoping the motor holds out

Just alot to do with the gearing. The DR8 is a bigger rc so it'll be geared more appropriately haha

I bet a max6 would do standing backflips after turning up the punch. That 8s traxxas esc has weak punch compared to the max6
He’s needs the Max8 for 6s in the Maxx, a lot better tuning options. I’m running the Max8 combo in mine on 4s and it’s pulling standing backflips

Yeah I dont want to much punch right now with plastic drive shafts but if I do upgrade to metal I might upgrade to a max 8 or Max 6

@@MatthewSimm Yeah the only way I can keep my temps down is by running 3s. It's a little bland though. This truck is geared oddly high out of the box.
Yeah I think its 24tooth pinion, not sure about spur, I think its 50, so yeah, pretty high
