Honestly I wouldn't mind a map that'd be more favourable for CQC. Considering the majority is just incredibly favored towards Ratters. As far as I know anyway.
You didn't mention it, but I feel like the arena where you fight the C-Spider would work very well as a PvP map with it's relatively shorter ceiling and light amount of cover. Also they could just add a some variation of grounded Xylem that also looks wonderful and gives varied gameplay, specifically the part that features Xylem's grounded control tower.
I didn't mention because we already have Upper Grid 086 with the same lighting, but then again we got dunes TWICE so maybe you're on to something here.
Could also add smaller maps such as the Testing room or Allmind’s Simulation Room, would be good for close quarter combat and limit the mobility of rats and missile/laser boats that plague most of ranked due to the massive arenas that are for 3v3s being used for 1v1s. Players may complain of the size but I find it perfect to weed out those kinds of play styles, could be used for promotion matches so skills are a must instead of a game of keep away.
We need a map in the coral flow for the infinite energy from the mission Breach the Karman Line. Have it be either were we fight Rusty or in the open air with only a few warships as platforms.
Thigh maps with a lot of variable height terrains to stand on and cover would actually be unfavourable to stuff like LCB tanks but more hit and hide cwc type builda
I actually kinda wish we had access to jump pads in some of the mp maps. I think it would introduce an interesting mechanic to the game (def. keep the upper limits thought because otherwise tetras will abuse these to no end, but with the pads the other AC's that have a harder time in the air would have a slightly better fighting chance at reaching those high flying missile rats)
and a lot of inst. city would be cool. I think the bridge area, the spot where you fight Maeter and Wu, and the convergance itself can be good for those who like the super open maps
not too sure about institute city being a good arena. wu huahai loves to kill any of my S-rank runs of coral convergence by hovering around the buildings for cover and stalling the fight. with xylem most of the buildings are at least short enough that they can't give rats any meaningful cover. the other suggestions seem very neat. personally, i'd like to see more old spaceport arenas. the large spaceship wreckage where rusty joins up with you always felt like a really neat set piece for a fight to center around. there's also the platform with the huge rocket, which strikes me as a bigger grid 012 arena with more geometry to fight around in.
I would personally enjoy more maps but the game's meta is still in a VERY bad state right now with practically all high rankers just abusing the same few builds and exploits. Armored Core 6 is very easily one of the least skill reliant game Fromsoft has made and their netcode is atrocious for PVP especially when it comes to charged beams and explosive weapons registering hits when they miss on the other persons' screen. Instead of pvp maps I prefer if Fromsoft focused on redoing their netcode, hyperfocus on pvp balance (possibly) separate from pve like they did with Elden Ring and hopefully add more parts/weapons and Co-op content which could add mission types like stealth, wave defense, or players vs groups of npc ACs for tough boss fights. Right now the pvp scene is kind of a joke and most people don't like it for numerous valid reasons.
Definitely couldn't be that all three solo ranked maps are literally big empty boxes with no practical cover that 100% cater to ratting/kiting and that some variety would be nice to have. No, can't be, must be some kind of skill issue or pile of salt.

Inside the Xylem's drive block wouldve been cool. Maze like, plenty of cover and close quarters, and a couple of long sight lines.

Agreed. Reminds me of the 08th MS Team duel that occurs in a city between the Gouf Custom and Ez-8.
