Dan your videos have been a huge inspiration, i suffer from panic attacks and anxiety and 4 weeks ago started running, i now run about 12k and have entered a 10k next month. the anxiety and panic attacks have not shown their ugly face since i started running either! keep it up mate, your bonza!
astrojax100 that's amazing your comment made my day so glad your enjoying a better quality of life due to running and the videos have helped. Smash that 10k!
sorry to be offtopic but does someone know of a tool to get back into an Instagram account..? I stupidly forgot my password. I love any tips you can give me!
Wonderful content as always! Just ran my fastest 5k yesterday. Over the last few months of training, I've continually turned to you and your videos for inspiration and motivation. Keep leading the way, Dan!
Absolutely stunning scenery mate, you look like you've had an ace time!! Cant wait to see the race recap now and how awesome to have your family there as well!
You create the best running movies on youtube. Full stop. And the music is always spot on! Every time I get lazy on training I think about your achievements and discipline. Also love the family part! My favourite athletes in this sport: 1. Dan W 2. Anton K. 3. Kilian J. :D
L Madek thank you man I don't think my name deserves to be mentioned in the same sentence as those guys but sure appreciate such a compliment. Thanks for watching
Great stuff, especially liked the moment when you expressed your love for mountains, your passion is so present in your videos it's touching. Also, congratulations on your impressive achievement at Lavaredo, you crushed it! I did my first longer trail race a couple of days after your race and complete the 35km with 1500m of vert without being destroyed, so happy! Your videos have been a massive inspiration in my journey to my first trail races!
Mate, a top effort in the race. Love the drone through window transition too. How cool is it you get to live with both your coach and a pro athlete in the Dolomite's! Your hard work got you there!
Fantastic video, I just felt like being back home again. Grew up on the other side of Livignio on the Swiss side. Great filming once again and very cool music, mate. Keep the good stuff coming, mate.
Beautiful video as always. You did great at the race, I see that Scotty did great too. I run my first ultra a week before at Salzburg - Mozart Ultra. Only 62 km & 2000 m (amazing experience). It makes me appreciate much more what you doing. I only can agree with you "this is what you suppose to be doing and sharing". Keep inspiring people.
Bolastristes68 thanks mate neither of our races went to plan but we finished so that's the main thing. Glad you dig the videos all the best for your first ultra hope you enjoy it I'm sure you will
Amazing video as always. Really loved the emotion in your sharing in the middle of the video. Saw your tremendous results from the race. Congratulations!
WHAT a video. It’s official - you’re producing the best material of anyone I’m subscribed to on RUclips, running or otherwise mate. Not only are you meant to be there and doing what you’re doing, but surely given the quality of what you’re producing you should be thinking of a career move into running-based media?? Come on peeps, let’s get the Patreon account beefed up!! The reflective piece in the middle was just perfect, those pieces make your material unique Dan, and the mountain and landscape shots are simply unreal, I feel you’re inability to describe it. The love for peanut butter and good coffee is shared mate, critical jigsaw pieces. Despite the race blips it looked by the stats to be an incredible run, massive congrats. How do you think this trip is going to impact your approach to running and life in general once you’re back in Oz, any big plans or life philosophies starting to germinate? Given what you’ve gone through in life and your ethos with diet etc has the thought of writing a book ever crossed your mind? I think you and your story are genuinely inspiring and interesting enough mate, id give it some thought...Id certainly buy the first copy!
Ioan Charnley-Parry thanks for all the kind words mate appreciate them all your a gentleman. I plan to get back to work when I get home save and do it again. Utmb is a goal for sure lut and TDS will give me the points to apply next year. I don't think there would be enough money in running based media to support overseas travel and racing etc. But who knows. I'd love to make videos about things other then myself at some stage though! Thanks again man
+Dan Whitehead sounds like a mighty plan to me. Be good to have you over in the UK for racing too. Fair point on the niche media, but I think video production in general is something you've clearly got a gift for, the comments and feedback reflect that. Storytelling too. Wouldn't be surprised if some outlets are keeping an eye on the channel mate, it's growing in notoriety. A book with photos of the quality you're taking would be an incredible read Dan, you gave me the heads up on Jurek's Eat and Run and I think you've got an inspiring story to tell too, plus the incredible visual material to compliment it - thoughts?
Dan!! loved this video! I started watching your vlogs last year since I started my own running journey and have been following closely since. I sat at work the other day refreshing the live tracker during lavaredo and was stoked to see how you did. Im running my first 50k in august all because of you! Sending thanks and support from Montreal, CA
thanks for following me! I deff drew some motivation from thinking of people watching the race and not wanting to let anyone down. Good luck for the 50k im sure youll smash it !
Dan all the best for your race, enjoy it. You have won many people heart, by your video and encouragement. So lovely to see your family there to support, it will be an awesome race.
Yes, yes, yes! Another awesome vid Dan. My Monday morning consisted of- RUclips notification of Dan Whitehead upload, pause my morning work, make coffee, sit and watch video. What a great Monday morning. Every video seems to bring something slightly new. I love your passion and emotion.
Really glad your training is going smoothly, Dan, you so deserve to do well. Just being there, competing, experiencing such beauty is already a win in my eyes!. “ It ain’t bad”...that’s for sure! Thanks for sharing it all with us. Sending positive vibes, Jenny.
Stoked to see this video in the queue this morning! Excellent of course again! Love the scenery and just the attitude overall Dan . You are right and I urge you to rewatch this yourself Its kind of what I needed as I start back up after my last race (which didnt go as planned) and getting back to training and preparing for the next one (once I figure out what that next one is) Thank You again for sharing these videos with us and best of luck as you get back to training and the nxt part of your adventure
Stunning video again! Worth waiting for this one! Will be going to Switzerland in a few days and your footage upped my stoke even more. Thanks for your inspiring work, Dan. Have a great day.
Stunning. Maybe not even the right word...magical. Looks like life as it should be lived. Well done, Dan! One of my favorites to date. Keep 'em coming, please...such talent...
Thank you for this another amazing video Dan! Thank you for sharing-- it's a joy to watch! What an inspiration. But TBH, the wait was quite agonizing, haha! And yes, the saga of the peanut butter is just as amusing as the views are stunning! BTW, I was tracking you during the race while at work. Great job!!!!
Dont even worry about responding to this, but man these vids are SO UNREAL, the best content on youtube. Youre fuckin awesome, glad to see you out here living life and being happy! I bet you crushed the race
Amazing video dan. I hope you enjoyed your race. I’m training for the snowies ultra at the moment which will be my first and I use your videos as motivation. Keep up the great work
Dan. Thanks for another awesome video. Great story fantastic footage! I'm dreaming of running in the mountains now. Will have to stick to my usual trails for now though, which isn't to bad either 😉 Congrats on the race hope you are satisfied with your result. I think it's sick.
Dan, have you ever given Almond butter a go? For me, it's so much better than peanut butter. Amazing video as usual. You tell such a great story every time!
Between laverado and WS100, i spent a lot of time refreshing race tracking sites this weekend. Congrats on finishing your longest race yet! And awesome video, as always :)
Thanks for another stunning episode. The mountains are great in Europe, hey? I relocated to Austria with my family a couple of years ago, and i love running through the greenery here. For me it's part of a comeback to running (kids happened) so i haven't got back to ultras since UTA in Oz, but i'm just as happy punching out shorter 10-20k runs after the kindergarten drop off tbh. If you get near to Vienna while you're hanging in Europe drop us a line and i'll take you all out for vegan 'schnitties'.
Incredible mate certainly nothing close in Aus. I am actually coming to Austria! doing the Grossglockner late july but its in kaprun? not sure how far that is from you wouldnt knock back a vegan schnittie!
Great job on the vid as usual bro. Really funny to see your emotions change throughout the course of it. I swear I could see you getting more anxious as the vid went on. Haha. Those last few days before a big race can be pretty crazy. Enjoyed seeing so much of Italy....now onto France 👍👍
Pete Pierce thanks Pete yeah it's a fun time before a big race I don't really get nervous or anxious just excited and everything comes into perspective for me.
Great video Dan. You should move to Bolzano and be happy like this every day ;) Looking forward to the race. Enjoy the rest days. I will be running my first half marathon next Saturday .
Great video Dan and great job on your race Can you please let me know what is the model number/name of that Camelbak @ 15:15? Looks great and I would like to grab one! Thanks
Dan Whitehead I think I would definitely be interested in something. I've just turned to a plant based diet so am interested in all aspects of how you fuel and recover from running etc (I have watched your video on it by the way but know that's a massive snapshot of life!) What's next on the cards? (Sorry if you've answered that in video just released but watching the England game!)
Wish u all the best my friend 👍 I know how u feel. I also have a race in Portugal this Saturday 65k with 3.5k of vert. Not like yours, but it's the highest I ever got. All in preparation for the OCC this Aug. Rock on brother 🤘
Brett Hasell cheers mates I'm not doing Eiger although it's on my list for sure looks incredible but I may be going this year to spectate but not sure yet I'll let you know if I do
Another great video - just been loooking at the results - congratulations great result and a great inspiration to see what focus and hard work can achieve. Is you need accommodation for a couple of days in the UK give me a shout - (sports massage included)
thanks julie it was a pretty crappy race for me to be honest! but thanks for the support I dont think ill make it to the uk this year butt planing on it at some stage
Awesome vid Dan! Seriously making me want to get a long overdue passport! I can see you're having a great running holiday along with your coach also I wonder how many people so far have declared peanutbutter? Anyhow I hope you kill it.
Lucky man! The joy is apparent on your face...Continuous enjoyment and well wishes...💯 Did I imagine you almost coming to tears over the #PeanutButter 😉😂
It’s 9.30pm and I’m contemplating getting out of bed for a spoonful of peanut butter. Dam that shits good. Great stuff once again Dan, lookin forward to the post race vid. Congratulations mate.
Hey Dan love you videos. Do you have any tips for someone that’s just starting to get into long distance running? How often I should do? How far etc? Cheers man
John Smith hey John thanks man. Start very gradually a longer run once a week is more then enough maybe every 2 weeks starting out. Gradually increase the distance. Make sure your feeling good and rest as much as you need to
of all of the incredible and beautiful footage, my favorite part of this movie was the section about gratitude. we forget how lucky we are to just run (and usually not in the amazing places you are!), and it was a great reminder to slow down and remember that.
for sure mate the great thing about racing for me is that in the lead up everything always comes back into perspective for me its important to remember.
There simply is no other content focused on running out there right now that is as beautiful, vulnerable, and well-crafted as your videos. The range of music, topics covered related to but not entirely about running, incredibly artistic imagery and editing, and your willingness to open up about personal matters make your videos something I look forward to every week. Thanks for sharing.
Adam Sherman thanks Adam appreciate it mate honestly I just talk about what ever happens to be on my mind. I'm glad it's coming across in a sincere way. Thanks for watching man
Best thing to wake up to. Also love the music choice. Wish I could follow you on artist.io or something because I wanna know these song names! Keep hammering and enjoy the race, Dan! -From another pb and coffee lover
Dan Whitehead wait, are you telling me I’m gonna be hating you more for being there longer?? Haha. Just kidding. Hope you can manage some rest after the awesome result this weekend! 😃
All depends on whats included lee some coaches do a weekly skype call and things like that. For a standard written weekly program 30 aussie bucks is reasonable
Dan your videos have been a huge inspiration, i suffer from panic attacks and anxiety and 4 weeks ago started running, i now run about 12k and have entered a 10k next month. the anxiety and panic attacks have not shown their ugly face since i started running either! keep it up mate, your bonza!

Ben Harris thanks mate it's pretty cool for sure I'm not complaining!

Nice job on your race bro!

Great job on the vid as usual bro. Really funny to see your emotions change throughout the course of it. I swear I could see you getting more anxious as the vid went on. Haha. Those last few days before a big race can be pretty crazy. Enjoyed seeing so much of Italy....now onto France 👍👍

Dan Whitehead I think I would definitely be interested in something.

The relationship you have with peanut butter sounds like mine with marmite, can't live without it... Also sick video, the transitions were on point!
I just read your comment to scotty and he said what a legend haha he lovessss marmite. Ive never tried it but it wont be dethroning pb!

of all of the incredible and beautiful footage, my favorite part of this movie was the section about gratitude. we forget how lucky we are to just run (and usually not in the amazing places you are!), and it was a great reminder to slow down and remember that.
for sure mate the great thing about racing for me is that in the lead up everything always comes back into perspective for me its important to remember.
Great job man.
Shit man, your vids are awesome. Just stumbled across them and am binging hard.
You rock keep up the good work
Brilliant vid, again
Note: Dan @ 38secs of the official Lavaredo highlights, during the early darkness of the race
Who makes the pole sleeve that Scotty was wearing as he ran?
salomon mate its called a pole quiver
There simply is no other content focused on running out there right now that is as beautiful, vulnerable, and well-crafted as your videos. The range of music, topics covered related to but not entirely about running, incredibly artistic imagery and editing, and your willingness to open up about personal matters make your videos something I look forward to every week. Thanks for sharing.
Adam Sherman thanks Adam appreciate it mate honestly I just talk about what ever happens to be on my mind. I'm glad it's coming across in a sincere way. Thanks for watching man
Beautiful videos bro.
Jon Suts thanks jon
Best thing to wake up to. Also love the music choice. Wish I could follow you on artist.io or something because I wanna know these song names! Keep hammering and enjoy the race, Dan! -From another pb and coffee lover

Can you buy a blender and make your own nut butter? Vitamix or Blendtecs would work be up for it
I'm sure you don't wanna go back home after these awesome couple of weeks, I know I wouldn't!
Geoffrey Chisnall nope I don't and I'm not! 2 months to go I don't want to leave cortina though so beautiful
Dan Whitehead wait, are you telling me I’m gonna be hating you more for being there longer?? Haha. Just kidding. Hope you can manage some rest after the awesome result this weekend! 😃
Which pole carrier is that?
Paul Johnston salamon pole quiver mate. They are rare as hens teeth managed to find one in livigno

How much can you expect to pay for a running coach?
All depends on whats included lee some coaches do a weekly skype call and things like that. For a standard written weekly program 30 aussie bucks is reasonable
And ya heres a shout out to BREWED COFFEE! Enjoy the race.
and Peanut Butter,, that stuff is dangerous because for some reason its "runnier" then some other brands (haha pun intended)
darrin kinney thanks Darrin actually mayvers is alot thicker the peanut butter I've had here is super runny! Ha
A man and his peanut butter. Adorable :)
Donna Marshall haha pure happiness
+Dan Whitehead you've shown me the way in the straight banana as a peanut butter spoon method. With a long black. All the thumbs.
Mountains are the best ❤️
