Well, Bluenerd: Not all of us have the natural ability to create beautiful terrain like you! ( lol!)... especially not me! This is why I have watched your tutorials so much... It is like you are a genius at making the terrain absolutely georgeous!
The 7 block thing is something that I am never going to forget now for some werid reason, my brain was like "save this for later this is important" Jokes aside this was such a great video I saved it to my "gaming info/gaming drama" playlist. I am currently terraforming a mountain in 1.18 and its just been quite the task. 3 diamond shovels and pickaxes have been used so far. Just insane so this video is going to be key for when I wanna pretty the mountain up.
Your video changed completely the way I build in Minecraft. 2 years later and it's still a relevant video. I'm older and Minecraft is one of my few hobbies. Thank you so much 🙏🌷
I always struggle with this so thank you so much! You really do cover everything I could think of for MC. I have never been able to find one that covers as much as yours or explains things anywhere near as well. I love these videos that explain your personal thought process especially since your style is by far my favorite. I would love to see a mountain or cliff terraforming video, like to encorporate steps/housing, or how to fix it better once the build is done to reincorporate a natural landscape feel. I've tried building houses into hills but also struggle with making a walkway to each door with making it look like I just took half the mountain/hill face off. Thanks for not only such great content but for such useful content. Have a great day Blue!
This was a spectacular tutorial. Simple concepts but extremely useful. I now feel like I have a solid jumping-off point for dabbling in the visual-artistic aspect of the game. Thank you thank you!!!
I really enjoyed this tutorial! I think that it would be amazing one about connecting parts of the map that arent close together. Iusually have my base and then some nearby village and sometimes the ocean is a little bit far away, id love to see some ideas of how to connect then nicelly, the pathway and the landscapping
Omg yes!!! I've been looking for a video like that for DAYS!! I'm in the process of terraforming/landscaping a shattered savanna... Thank you so much your vids are the best 😁
This is fantastic! I didn't even know what I was missing in my water garden until you posted this. Funny isn't it, that you know something is off, you just can't pinpoint it and then, bam! Thanks for hitting the nail on head with this video. I will be watching it again I am sure.
i haven't played minecraft since 2013 when I was in highschool. So downloading it for Christmas 2021 was a bit of a bell curve again. I found your rule "no more than 7 blocks in a row, working with odd numbers except for 2." was FANTASTIC!!! I recreated your model terraced farmhouse build and was able to take those techniques and put them to use in other types of builds! Thank you so much!
I remember seeing that exact pathway fence design from like, Etho or something MANY years ago. I still use it when applicable. Also, for anyone wanting truly good terrain, think scientifically. How would water travel down these hills and where would streams form? How much erosion is in this area? You can dig out your own flow lines if you'd like, but it IS very difficult to predict how water erodes terrain since we aren't the Earth. If you're making an entire map in worldpainter or something, make sure to consider wind direction and mountain ranges. If the wind is blowing in from the ocean, the moisture should get trapped on the coast side of any mountains in the area. If there is a full range of mountains, the other side would be MUCH drier than the ocean side. Another thing to remember, and this is probably the most important thing, is that rivers almost NEVER split. They merge from many streams and they get bigger with each new connection. If you DO split a river, make sure to make the new rivers half the size of the original, since the water volume was split between them.
this was really awesome! the tip about not putting 7 blocks in a straight line really helps! im actually building something in hypixel skyblock, so im starting with a complete blank slate and having that rule of thumb will really make it poppp
I have learned more about terraforming and decorating from your videos that from any others. You give explanations as to the why and how, instead of just telling people to go with what looks nice or copying a design. I've always struggled with putting walls around paths because they always seemed out of place and no tutorial i could find helped. This did. And I'm so excited to be able to apply this to my builds! Thank you for this little series, it helps even long time players with this kind of stuff 🖤

why does this guy have the absolute best toturials and i dont mean only builds this guy finds a way how to actually tell people how to do stuff without telling them that they have to do it if you know what i mean

What wonderful advice for Terraforming and landscaping! I now have lots of ideas for the water areas/river and now I can see I need to revamp my farms that go with my windmill lol. Love the video Blue
I’ve been subscribed for about a year now? I don’t know exactly but I remember seeing your “building huge castle” tutorials and I just have to say you are truly my favorite Minecraft creator. You are inspiring and you have a wonderful community I’m glad to say I’m part of that appreciates every video you make!
Outlining before you terraform or build anything in minecraft is a fairly essential step imo, it helps visualize without putting too much investment in the way things looked in your head. Not just outlining the foundation, but also once you get the foundation down outlining your elevations is also a huge benefit to speeding up your build and terraforming process. Lastly, I think that its a safe bet to expect that you will need more space than you would initially think to build whats in your head given the area you're terraforming or building on
i been making my own project for almost 1 year now, it's a fantasy world, where you have to travel a long way to find another city, it has dungeons as well, it also has beautiful landscaping like this one, this video just added another trick and tips for my world
It looks beautiful. I've always seen and loved this kind of structures that follows the terrain generation, but i never knew how to be creative enough to do it. However, you explained it very well, without making us just copy the same you did. Instead giving us the basic but enough concepts and ideas to make it our own, breaking it down into different parts to make it simple and eassy to start. Thank you so much for these videos.
This was great. One of the things I still struggle with is "random", particularly with texturing. It probably doesn't help that I'm on the Switch still, so a lot of suggestions like macros that scroll don't work, but still, I feel like there's got to be a system that can help me be more random
What I do is do each texture one at a time. I randomly break the blocks to be filled, fill them, break randomly (including the texture you just placed) fill the holes with another texture, and continue. Then I'll fly around a bit and see what areas could use more of each texture
@@ArcusCrow that's essentially what I try to do, but again, it's the random part that I struggle with. I can easily come up with a palette and textures, and I can figure out the approximate ratios I want to give it the right level of texture, but "clicking" random spots/blocks is still near impossible to me
I'm aware that this is a couple weeks old now but I thought a great idea I used to do before I got on computer was using a random number generator. It gives you a random number and you can use the ratio to determine whether to place the block there or not!
This was awesome! I really appreciate all the tips and explanations of why/how you did various things. Would love to hear more terraforming or design tips
