Marie Osmond had her first hit when she was 13, I believe, with “Paper Roses”. It is a great song. Her and Donny had a great hit with “I’m Leavin’ it all up to You”. And there are many more hits with all of the Osmonds.
Glad to see you appreciate this era of music. Dan passed away sometime in the 90’s I believe, he was amazing. Check out is song One Friend Left, its a beautiful but sad song.
I grew up with this song. I'll never forget it. The runs and harmony in this song are absolutely gorgeous! Lovely tribute to a beautiful State and musicians. I miss really good collaborations in 2023. The 80s and 90s gave us all some unbelievable musical experiences. Thanks you, Dan and Marie!!
Dan Seals was half of a very popular soft-rock duo in the '70s, "England Dan and John Ford" (also, his older brother was the "Seals" in the '70s band Seals & Crofts), but then he had a number of solo country hits during the '80s and into the '90s, perhaps the biggest (other than "Meet Me in Montana") being a song called "Bop". He was a great musician, and had a terrific voice. Sadly, he died relatively young, at age 61.
Great comments folks. I agree that Dan Seals is one of country music’s most underrated singers. Both he and Marie have a synergistic tone that is well complimented. This is a duet like no other, much like John Travolta and Olivia Newton-John in ‘Grease’ a great masterpiece for the ages. This is still when country music was very authentic.
I don't get to check out your channels as often as I would like, but I enjoy the love of the great country music on your channels, I grew up in the age of what is now classic rock and the great era of country. Take care Psalms 3:3
I just discovered your channel when your video of Marie Osmond's song Paper Roses popped up. I'm a huge Osmond fan since 1970. I love country music as well as pop. Hopefully you'll do more from Marie and Donny and the brothers.
😆😎I be damn someone finally found it. Great duet and just a wonderful song 👍. Dan Seals isn't heard enough he's got some good songs a real classic great choice 👍👍❤️🌎✌️
I read something amazing that left handed Dan played on a right handed 12 string guitar that only had 8 strings so he played it upside down, backwards and foreword. Talent? 😂🤣❤
Dan Seals had an incredible string of hits in the mid to late 80’s. 8 #1’s in a row if I remember correctly. So many great ones… Addicted Border town They Rage On You Still Move Me Water Under The Bridge Had the chance to hang out with him when I emceed his shows a couple times. Everything that Glitters by Dan Seals... So sad, but one of my favorites! The Osmonds are a classic! One of her brothers, Merrill, just had a few farewell concerts in Vegas as he is retiring.
I think Marie does her best work when she duets with someone country. Check out her songs with John Montgomery and also with Paul Davis. If I'm not mistaken all 3 were written by Paul Davis, fantastic talent! Who died way to soon.
Dan Seals may be the most underrated performer, ever. He's quiet. I didn't really discover his music until after he died, but he's so mellow. "I'd really Love To See You Tonight" is one of my favorites. You've gotta check out "Everything That Glitters," too. Along the same theme, "Please Come to Boston" by · Dave Loggins is another "somebody's missing out" heart tugger.
@@charissakington606 Ah, the Gentle Giant. I saw him in a small venue concert and he never, ever gets excited and doesn't move much from his stool, but his voice is so comfortable and inviting that you are encaptivated. Every once in awhile he would gently say, "Mercy." The audience would go wild. He was truly one of the greats.
The late great Dan Seals. In the 70"s he played in a group called England Dan and John Ford Coley with mega hits, Night last lasts forever without you, and I'd really love to see you tonight. In country Everything that Glitters isn't Gold and Addicted are both country classics.
This is a great opportunity for you to be introduced to "Western Music" and performers like Michael Martin Murphey and Paul Davis who, like Dan Seals, were also westerners but had success on the popular charts WITHOUT their hats (Even George Strait who came along a few years later was asked to forget the hat and he NEVER did) but later went on to enjoy producing the music they enjoyed and grew up upon. Try Dan's western hit, "Not Everything that Glitters is Gold," and his toe tapping hit, "Bop!"
I love Dan Seals. His stuff with John Ford Coley was great and his solo stuff is amazing. My favorite album of his, though, has to be In a Quiet Room...all the hits done acoustically. It sounds awesome.
Dan Seals has always been one of my favorites…. I wore out a couple of his tapes back in the day, Big Wheels in the Moonlight is up towards the top for me after this one
I know somebody has probably said this already but the first verse was him trying to make it as a singer then she tried to make it as an actor, so, both of them lost their dreams after splitting up to pursue them. Then, they say we always loved each other so how about we meet in Montana and just live our lives together and have the dream of love since our big time famous dreams didn't work. They're not settling but realizing they had something great all along.
My two favorites from the 80’s country. Discovered both and went searching for more. They both can sing such ranges of music, from pop, mellow, country, rock and Marie doing broadway and opera. Dan even did his stent bridging his pop to country with some Christopher Cross type music in the late 70’s and early 80’s.
If you're only doing country you will miss out on some great Dan Seals songs when he he was in the band England Dan and John Ford Coley. Particularly I'd really Love to see You tonight, Love is the Answer and Nights are Forever.
You're too young to remember I'm sure but in the late seventies and '80s there was the Donny and Marie Osmond show. It was a variety show with many guests and was similar to The mandrell sisters variety show
Tasha please react to Dan Seals All That Glitters I think it might be his best song he was a great talent and I think underrated when he was still in the 70s pop scene he was England Dan and John Ford Coley duet that had multiple big hits

Marie Osmond "There's no stopping your heart"
💯
Marie Osmond was my first celebrity crush when I wad 6 years old. She was the reason why I watched The Donny & Marie show back in the 70s.
One of my favorite songs of all time. Being from Montana it always seemed like a very special song.
Dan Seals is definitely a path worth going down. He has an awesome catalog of music.
Dan Seals "Everything That Glitters Is Not Gold" is a must listen. I Love that song!!!!

Dan Seals had such a smooth voice. Gone entirely too soon
Dan Seals was very underrated. He has a song called “Bop” which really is a bop.
Haha, love it!
Dan Seals has been around for Many years...with many hit records...he is very well known and very popular....is THAT what you mean by "underrated" ?

♥ Dan Seal's "God Must Be a Cowboy", is one of his less played songs, but as an old wannabe cowboy, it's one I've always loved.
Imo, this is one of the best duets because I love Dan Seals. That voice he has. Everything that glitters is not gold is a must reaction.

Dan Seals was such an underrated singer. R.I.P. Dan.
This song is actually written by Paul Davis. It is the actual "State Song", of Montana now...😀😀 Dan Seals has many great songs
Dan Seals was a great singer. I really miss him and his music.
To me, Marie just keeps getting prettier every year. It's amazing that a woman can look as great as she does in her 60s.
Dan Seals also had One Friend and Addicted...and was half of England Dan and John Ford Coley. Love this song!
