    Linas... when I watch & rewatch your videos, I always seem to learn something new. I appreciate the way you operate, both portable & mobile. Keep your videos coming. Thanks Linas!

      Dear Randall, thank you for these nice words! I make videos for my own fun and of need to share my experience. But it is so much more fun when I get a feedback from my viewers who like my videos, some who don't and some who offer their own experience in return- all and everyone is an inspiration for my future projects. So thanks for watching Randall and keep being a source of inspiration! Happy New Year ! Wish you good health and lots of fun in the hobby! 73! Linas LY2H

    Thanks Linas. Great stuff as always :) I very much appreciate "do it yourself" projects. After coming back to radio after an almost 20 year absence I have the feeling, people seem to just buy stuff "these days". To me anything radio always was about experimenting and building stuff myself. 20-some years ago my friends and I built our own CB-radios from scratch and had a blast with them. Even without having a full blown electronics lab, antennas, baluns, chokes are the perfect way to experiment without much hassle...

      Thanks for watching Olli! I will probably make another vid on the RF probe , together with the other incarnation of it - the RF Field Meter. These are the simplest possible devices made of 1 or 2 Shottky diodes, a capacitor and the 100- 200 microAmp meter. I saw numerous schematic diagrams on the web, so there is a lot to choose from! 73! Nice job with the Balun/Choke! Looking forward to see how it works with the new 3-band antenna!

    Fabulous.. would like to know make / brand of the plumbing part.. they're probably not a manufacturer sold near me, but I see a great multi-band trap potential here too with these seals built in.. cheers!

      Thanks for watching! I'm not sure I could tell a brand of these plumbing parts, sorry to say :) These are just piled in the shelf in my home depot store with price on them but no brand to see. I can suspect they are made in Poland, but could be anywhere. If there is no store around you, I would suggest check the Google, lots of links would pope-up under "plumbing pipes and fittings" or alike. And yes, these formers should be possible to use for the antenna trap construction , especially one made of thin coax cable. Good luck! 73! Linas LY2H

    Can you provide a link for the pvc pipe and caps? Thank you great video

    • @Linas_LY2H
      @Linas_LY2H  3 года назад +1

      Thanks for watching! As to the pipe-link, I'm so sorry, I don't have any ... I always buy pipes and other plumbing stuff in one of my local "Home Depo"-kind of shops, never from Amazon or Ali, just no need for that. I know at least 10 of such shops in my town :). During the lock-down most of them were trading through the internet , but I doubt they would ship abroad. I don't know where are you located but there must be some hardware shops selling pipes around and may be even shipping locally. The pipe/cap dimensions actually are uncritical, just for the toroid to fit in. GL! 73! Linas LY2H

    Is that a Sotabeams winder? Looks bigger than the ones I have, that's all...

      @Linas_LY2H  3 года назад +2

      Yes, it's the Sotabeams winder. I like them very much! The only problem is that they are often out of stock and I need new ones with every new antenna project! 73! Linas LY2H

    Thanks for the video! Would you please provide more information regarding your clamp on RF meter? 73! K7NFO

    • @Linas_LY2H
      @Linas_LY2H  3 года назад +1

      Thanks for the comment Mike! The RF probe is made of 2 Shottky (BAT 85) diodes, 1 cap and the potentiometer to set the sensitivity up. I made my own design based on numerous schematics on the web. The meter is salvaged from my junk box, it was used for the sound volume indication in the tape recorders in its previuos life some 40 years ago :). It's still possible to buy some in local electronic shops in my town :), may be on Ali also :) Any meter ranged 50-100-200 microAmps would do. The box is from the electric department in the Home Depo store. 73! Linas LY2H

      @@Linas_LY2H Do you think salvaged s-meter would work?

    • @Linas_LY2H
      @Linas_LY2H  3 года назад

      @@samgrieg Hello, I think it should work if it's an microampermeter in its nature. It's only the sensitivity of the device that depends on the type of meter. Normally the range of the meter recommended is 50-100 microA, but the one I used is rated at abt 200 microA and it works. The best way to know- it's just try it out! :) 73! Linas LY2H

      Labas, Ričardai. Iš visur po truputį- kažkada, priešpandeminiais laikais, buvau prisipirkęs Friedrichshafene, kituose Europos turgeliuose, kai ką galima gauti pas LY prekiautojus per hamfestą ( gal ir ne per hamfestą) , kai ką esu pirkęs ir perku UK Sotabeams, taip pat vienoje čekų firmelėje ( neatsimenu pavadinimo dabar), be jokios abejonės yra pasirinkimas Amazone bei Ali, bet čia reikia tureti omeny feikų tikimybę. Didieji prekiautojai, kaip Mouser ir pan, taip pat turi kai kurių. Žodžiu, reikia suktis, Lemonoje ant lentynos nepridėta :)). 73! Linas LY2H

      @@Linas_LY2H Supratau, na reiks ieškoti :) Dėl ali feikų ir aš pagalvojau, nelabai norisi iš ten pirkti, nes po to nežinai ar detalė bloga ar pats kažką ne taip padarei :D Beje, puikus kanalas! Esu naujas šitame hobyje, dar tik egzaminą kitą savaitę laikysiu, todėl tikrai randu daug naudingos info.
