We love the Baths.....I bought a couple SPF shirts from the guy at the hut and when I told him we were from the Pacific Northwest he said "ahhh man, you're like from a different planet!" He isn't wrong 😄👏👏
Been to the BVI a half dozen times...I would certainly hang with you on the Wandering Hillbilly any damn time. You and your crew know how to have a great time!! You truly know how to enjoy and appreciate the BVI. It definitely is my favorite place on earth!!
Alan, we too are people who did a bare boat charter in the BVI because of your videos. Last March our first stop was Saba Rock. We had dinner at BEY and almost died on the dinghy ride back to our boat moored on the first boaty ball in front of Saba Rock. We were crossing the channel between Saba and BEY, and a larger yacht tender was leaving Saba. Suddenly, he decided full throttle was a good idea in the dark. He was bearing down on us quickly and would have run us over broadside. Fortunately, a few feet from us he saw us and turned sharply. We got soaked with a wall of water and lived to tell the story. We saw the flash lights on the boat but didn't bring them lesson learned. Feel free to use this story of what not to do when operating a dinghy at night. Take Care
While I have loved all of your videos thus far, and learned much from them all; this is my favorite by far! This is a summary of our first two days on a bareboat charter in July, only backwards. We left Roadtown, picked up family members at Spanish Town and moored at Leverick Bay the first night out. We even had Sweet Ice Willie take us to The Bath’s! Then we were off to BEYC the next day. I am sharing your video with friends and family because you have documented these experiences better than any of us ever could have! Hoping to find more fans for you and the BVI!!!!
Great tour of the Baths! I think people need to know how strenuous that hike down to it is. Our charter boat coming to the BVI on October 25th gave us the option to go there as well as Soggy but I'm having knee replacement right after I get back and my knee couldn't hike that. We will just stay at Soggy for our relaxation. Bitter End looks awesome. You have given me places to visit on future trips. Cheers to you and that good looking rum punch.
As a 60+ individual I agree that it ain’t easy walking that trail. If I had to do it again (not even if you paid me) I would hit the caves first then walk up the trail. The trail was slippery and treacherous when I did it but I think it would easier going up hill than down hill.
We love the BVI. May is our favorite month; after winter season and spring-breakers, and before hurricane season. The "new" Bitter End and Saba Rock are very nice, but don't have the ambiance of the pre-hurricane village and cottages. I feel fortunate to have experienced it, pre-Irma. Same goes for Foxy's and White Bay. Still lots of fun! Beautiful water, snorkeling, and excellent rums! "This doesn't suck," is still my least favorite phrase, but I have been known to use it. LOL.
My first time to The Baths, we swam from the dinghy which landed us right at Poor Man’s bar. It was fun, had to fight the current a bit, but I’m glad we did it. Last October we started at the top and made the loop and it was a completely different experience. I recommend doing both, however I think starting at the top and taking the loop down to Poor Man’s Bar is the best way to go for first timers. You have no choice but to get the full Baths experience when you start at the top. Swimming from the dinghy into the Baths is basically just a shortcut to the bar.😁
How often do you tour the BVIs? Just curious. I’ve been about 10 times (sailing) and I NEVER get bored. Leaving for Tahiti for a week on sailing in a few weeks! Love your channel!
Well Alan, by the time you get a chance to read this, you'll probably be back at work. The new season begins Sept 25th. Of course, the shows could have been filmed many months ago and just now being telecast. I hope this strike doesn't have too big of an effect on you all. Hope to see you back on the boat. Although I'm a dreamer, I still enjoy watching your travels. Hopefully I'll have learned something that will keep me out of trouble. Good luck with the Rangers. The playoffs are fast approaching. It doesn't look as if my Nat's are going to be playing in the post season. Oh well, I'm still a fan. Stay safe. Semper Fi!
My Nats are out of the playoffs but it looks as if the Rangers will make it. I look forward to watching the remainder of this seasons videos. Boating I mean. You'll have to do a world series vlog if the Rangers go all the way. Maybe next year we can have the Nats and Rangers in the world series. That would be fun. Take it easy Alan. Later. Semper Fi. @@thewanderinghillbilly
Just finished a month in the BVI'S, which included a 10 day bareboat. Your videos absolutely took the guess work out of how to grab a mooring ball on a large cat! Funny, we did grab a ball at the baths, dinked to the rope bartier and swam the rest, BUT it's not as easy to get back into a dingy in deep water... 😂. Two of the weeks our boys were at SeaTrek, check it out, fantastic camp for kids who like adventure! We will return!
Another great vid Mr Hillbilly. Love the Baths, been taking the mooring ball option, but now you've explained the trails so easily, looks a fun option! 👍

Limp flags are the worst! Lol

Love your IPad holder, definitely something we need to add to our boat. Could you point us in direction where you got it, if you know. Thx

I need to get you a twins hat. sorry about the recent beatings.
We’ve been God awful. Thanks anyway
Love the BVI's. Love your lifestyle. Love the channel. Love your vessel. Love the flag.... would you please tell me where you had it made?
I don’t remember! Lol. Just googled “flag makers”. Ha. Thanks for watching
Greetings from Franschhoek, South Africa! We’re not dancing but still loving the video.
Love it! Thanks
Be careful, good luck, I see a storm coming your way. Be safe, love your videos
Thank you, I will

And that’s why I did this. I saw folks struggling to do it so they need to know. Thanks for watching
@@thewanderinghillbilly Keep up the great work and I hope to run into you October 25th at Soggy.

Agree! Thanks for watching
I was wondering if you have any events scheduled for December. My wife and I were hoping to meet you when we come down the week before Christmas.
Unfortunately no. Going down in October and January

I agree. I love the old BEYC. But I love the new Saba more. Sorry for my slogan. Don’t get caught saying it!! Lol

Very good take on that. I’ll mention it soon

Sorry to hear about the Limp Hillbilly ! Have you tried starch ?😊
Ouch! No thanks. Lol

So I have heard Hurricane Lee could hit the BVI, what is the plan for your boat?
We’re on the ground but should be fine
ABBA❤❤❤

Love the Baths, been taking the mooring ball option, but now you've explained the trails so easily, looks a fun option! 👍
your hair is growing back
I cut it off
That did not suck!!
Are you giving any thought to your poor liver?
