The amount of times I find myself unintentionally transposing into Queen's Gambit declined is astounding. Most of the time my opponent seems just as surprised and unprepared for it as I am. Thanks for explaining some of the main ideas, especially around c5.

I hear so much about the queens gambit accepted/declined but never thought I would play it because it hasn’t been explained to me. Now I want to give it a try!

"What is the point? Games are decided by blunders besides the elite level". That is real true my frind, reasonable openning theory and past that it is end game and tactics for the amateur players. I have being pretty close to national masters a few years and it is still the same thing, who is better at middle game plan, tactitcs and end game knowledge.
By the way, always great content with a lot of humor!

    If you like ...b6 you can play the Alapin QGD! with 1. d4 d5 2. c4 e6 3. Nc3 b6

      Something to look at but the traditional English defence gives an active bishop e.g. 1 d4 b6 2 c4 e6 3 e4 Bb7 4 Nc3 Bb4 with pressure on e4.

Some people still believe that "Gambit Declined" is a gambit. No, it is not.

Didn't cover 4.Qc2. Thats what I play to take the chaurosek players out of them trying to take QG players out of theory but Qc2 is for real out of theory and get back to the exchange QGD
