It's high time that Calcutta concentrates on a second airport, and the most preferred one would be near Kalyani. Since Calcutta stands on alluvion soil , therefore, high-rise buildings would be very cost incentives . Urban developers of Calcutta must take high-rise buildings to further north places like Barreckpore , Sodepur , etc. When Mumbai could go as far as Mera Road and beyond, why not Calcutta! Calcutta is losing its metropolitan status day by day. Why can't Kolkata Corporation bring those municipalities like North Dumdum, South Dumdum, Barrackpore , etc, within its folder? In such a case, Calcutta, with a bigger landmass and bigger population, shall be at par with Mumbai. High rises can be built alongside the riverfront, most of which come under Calcutta Port Trust. Most likely, that area does not fall within the flight paths. Calcutta can't decorate its neck with a queen's necklace, but if it can build high-rise alongside its riverfront, this area, which is used to be a place of happening once, shall again be bubbling with its past glory. Calcutta lost almost all its international air connectivity. It must encourage those low-budget international airlines like LOT(Polish ), Turkish, Chez Republic , South China, Srilankan, etc. to land here . These airlines don't bank on business class but on the economic one that Calcutta can always afford in the absence of industries and other major commercial activities. Even a few years ago, Chennai Airport used to be the sixth largest airport in India, and very soon, it is poised to take 3rd place, replacing Bangalaru as multinational companies are turning it to auto, electronic , IT and medical hubs. So, Calcutta, don't waste time and join the race to retain its past glory. Food bloggers of Kolkata must not encourage those vendors occupying the pavements and selling their recipes. It's the pedestrians' pathway. Let them walk on it instead of the roads that are meant for vehicles.
New Town has the potential to have attractive skyline as well as natural landscape. Some more tall buildings above 20 floors at least should be built around Ballygunge, Jadavpur, Mukundapur, Science City area. To get London, New York, Shanghai, Tokyo etc. non stop routes, Kolkata needs to increase international students and prospect of business growth.

২য় অবস্থানে আছে নাইডা। কলকাতা আছে ৭/৮ নম্বরে।
Kolkata has the most number of skyscrapers after Mumbai till date, currently it consists of 14 fully functional skyscrapers while Hyderabad has only 2 operational skyscrapers, Noida has 9 functional skyscrapers (excluding the tallest building in the NCR i.e Supernova Spira which is still under construction), Gurugram has 11 active skyscrapers.
Also, in terms of having the most number of high rise buildings other than skyscrapers (below 150 m tall buildings), after Mumbai Kolkata is still ahead of every other single city in India. [Skyscrapers are those buildings which are exactly 150 m or above in height & normal high rise buildings are those which are more than 30 m but are less than 150m in height]
If you don't believe my presented facts here, you can also do some valid research works on this to get more clarification.

Where is delhi ncr?
After Mumbai Delhi have most skyline..
Not Delhi. Noida has Supernova which is taller than Kolkata's The 42. However with respect to density of skyscrapers, Kolkata still has more than Noida, and hence 2nd after Mumbai. Noida and Hyderabad are in the race close to Kolkata. By the way, skyscrapers don't decide anything.....Otherwise, Las Vegas would have not been Las Vegas.
Delhi NCR has 5000 high rises compared to kolkata's 800
Check- tallest buildings in india (wikipedia)
No. Kolkata is 2nd City with highest sky scraper
@@satyakibabujana ❌wrong, thats an old data, delhi NCR has 24 skyscrapers(150m+) compared to kolkata's 14 buildings
Check here- en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_tallest_buildings_in_Delhi_NCR
Guargaon alone has more high rises than entire kolkata metro area
Sir your comments and explanations are baseless. Construction of modern sky scrapers are constructed differently than that of your explanation. To construct a tall building iron Pillers are introduced in soil from 30 to 50 meters under ground surface level.
