So... someone gave you router. First I would check if there are warranty seals on the screws. If not, I would check inside if there are any modifications that you can see with bare eyes. Secondly, firmware - replace it with original. That would be my first steps 🙂 Best regards! 🙂
I just knew you from Twitter but got this vid in my recommended. I enjoyed the cozy music with the "we're learning and failing together" atmosphere. Really different from other videos where people present themselves as already being experts by just hiding the learning process they had to do to get there. subscribed :D

The panic at each step is real. 😂 Great work though. As far as if the Pi Hole dies, I’d recommend putting a public DNS provider as the secondary in the DHCP configuration so they can fall back to that. I like cloudflare 1.1.1.1

Cable management shmable management. On YT hawking tech…….better be uncased laptops, 2 switches, screw drivers, and an ungodly amount of unlabeled USB’s. (don’t worry, you’ll configure that high speed Unify / Cisco CBS switch when the time is right) 😂 Commenting for a friend

as a software engineer you don't program cross networking protocols? HOW do you know so little about networking?
Most software engineers don't know jack about networking, don't blame her blame the education

Literally not at all required for a job in SWE. Haven’t heard of a job requiring either of those two certs, in the 10+ years I’ve been in it.
@@endingwithali so while knowing how to code in hex a SWE couldn't know how to install or troubleshoot Windows? seems a massive discrepancy!
