Don't worry, that "What the fuck is going on? I didn't expect this!" reaction is normal with XG, we all had that - regardless which of their vids was our first. Nobody has told them how to make a bad song yet.
Hesonoo and X-Gene are the two short intro tracks of their first mini album (and were until last Sunday the only tracks without an accompanying video). As intros, they set the scene for the four main tracks and MVs - in that order: Girl Gang (about Arrival, featuring cyberpunk mermaids and other futuristic stuff), TGIF (about Evolution, featuring ... erm ... general weirdness), New Dance (about Exploration, featuring the coolest summer vibe I've come across in ages), and the final masterpiece Puppet Show (about transcendence, featuring a Buddhist hell and exploding spirits - I kid you not). The general theme is sort of aliens from outer space coming to earth.
In a nutshell, XG is short for Xtraordinary Girls, their label is XGALX, which was more or less specifically created for them. Their debut was last year, technically they are still rookies. They are seven Japanese, age 17 to 22 as of now, who are based in South Korea and trained with the KPop idol methods ... to then perform NOT K-Pop, but instead mostly western style 90s/early 2000s rap and R&B oriented tracks. Modern old school, if this makes sense. Their main songs are all completely in English.
I said main songs, because there are some sidelines to check out as well - the Tape series for their rap line (Jurin, Cocona, Maya, Harvey ... be sure to check Tape #2, it is legendary ... oh, and in the Tapes they rap trilingual - English, Korean and Japanese all mixed up) - the Vox line for the vocalists (Chisa, Juria, Hinata ... Vox #5 has all three together) - and the Move line for dance practice. As you may have realized with this performance video - they all are incredibly good dancers.
It's up to you what to check out next ... just two final things: you are never prepared for what XG will drop next. Never. And you won''t be disappointed. They never miss.
I grew up on Metallica, Deftones, Tool, Slipknot and XG are easily one of my fav artists these days. Their discography is flawless. Singing, rapping and dance choreo all God tier.

XG is not a K-pop group. XG Xtraordinary is a Japanese Global girl group sings in English. XG prefers not to be called a K-pop group. All 7 members sings, 4 members are rappers too. XG speaks 3 languages, Japanese, Korean an English. XG made their debut March 18th, 2022, with their first single "Tippy Toes"
XG had been in training for 5 years before they made their debut. 7 members names.
Jurin, Chisa, Hinata, Juria, Cocona, Maya and Harvey. Main singer Chisa, she is the oldest 21 years old. XG rappers, Jurin, Maya, Harvey and Cocona. Cocona is the youngest 17 years old.
So you can see 5 year ago they were very young through training, but their rappers, rap like they been in the rap game for many years. All 7 young ladies have strong confidence.

Hesonoo is umbilical cord in Japanese. It represents their connection to each other. Their strong bond.
XGs concept is that they are from an alien planet. Here to inspire and motivate through their music. On the "New DNA" album Hesonoo is the intro track and tells of their awakening after traveling through space and arriving here. X Gene is part of their alien DNA. It's what makes them special. It's what makes them Xtraordinary Girls.
If you listen to the album or even watch the videos in order, the concept is executed very well.

They are phenomenal! After you watch all their music videos, get to know them through their documentary series (you might cry on some parts because it's been a journey for them to get to this point), their XG days videos, and the "3 Meals a Day" series. They are insanely talented and also have super great personalities. They just debuted in March 2022 so they are just "landing". As a 42 year old ALPHA, I think they really are the best girl group I've seen in years. My favorite songs from them are all the Xypher tapes, Chisa and Juria's Vox video, "Mascara", "Left Right", "New Dance", "Shooting Star", "Girl Gang (GVNG)", and this new release. Honestly, all their releases are amazing but those are just my faves. Enjoy XG! XG World Tour 2024! Let's Go! 💖

Yes 🙌🏽 XG is Xpop a new genre concept by XGALX from AVEX JAPAN 🇯🇵. They are all Japanese and they’ve only been out for a little more than a year. Everything they’ve posted is 🔥. I love this Japanese Global Girl Group. XG stands for Xtraordinary Girls. There are four RAPERS who RAP in English, Japanese and Korean. They are very unique in that every Song is in English. There are three vocalists. You will want more with every Song, Choreography and MV. You’ll love them if you appreciate RAP for sure 🙋🏻♀️😉❤️🔥. I’ve been an ALPHAZ since my review of their first Dance Performance Move 1#. I thought they were an Excellent Dance Crew and then later I seen a MV Song Teaser.
