Trains at Plymouth, including XC HST trip report! (05/09/23)

First time doing a trip report... there's a first for everything.
In this video, see a small handful of trains at Newton Abbot to begin with, before I catch 1V44 to Plymouth, reviewing First Class. Overall, it was very pleasurable, and well worth spending the money for first class. Once at Plymouth, see 1V44 reverse and head north on 1S51, bound for Glasgow, and a variety of other stock from the station, including 43007 and 43008, in which, to my understanding, are to be withdrawn from normal mainline service, before being sent to Leeds to work the tour from Leeds to Swanage towards the end of the month.
Overall, it was a fun day, and what I see as a tribute to the workhorses of the country, and I think we'll all wish them a happy retirement once that time unfortunately arrives for them.

Thanks yet again, Oscar. It certainly was quite a lovely ride- certainly quieter than standard, for sure! Part of me wishes that GWR still ran their full sets, but I suppose the castle sets sort of capture that "HST feel" in a way.

43303/43304 operating on 1E63 that day was the last ever XC HST I saw.

At least 43285 has been given a new lease of life with Colas for tests!
