We just received our Lake Sport. We are excited, but you need to let people know how difficult it is the first time. DIFFICULT does not even come close. Working with the material is CRAZY on hands. Even the video didn't have as much information as needed. Lines to punch! What goes over what! We look forward to when it is much easier.
Agreed. Tough as heck!! I was at a point i wanted to send it back! I connected with them and they sent an extra video which helped….still tough though. lol
So how many times did you have to put it together before it got easier? I'm ready to return mine. I was not anticipating a workout before I go on the water.
Used mine today for first time and it worked great! Convenience is off the charts!! My friend was impressed as we were shoving his traditional kayak in back of his SUV.
Just got mine today. So happy it came early, just in time for my Birthday and trip to the Adirondack. Heres hoping assembly isn't a pain and it all works!
I’ve had the inlet for a long time and this one is much more difficult to assemble. How am I supposed to make the floor board fit BEFORE I buckle the hull? edit: I got the hang of it. It’s easier to assemble and better, IMO
the stern folds are very confusing-every picture-diagram is different and there is no clarity in how to make it work or even how it is supposed to look.
@@taylorpowers7156 I use a 130 cm paddle and have no issues hitting the side of the boat. I believe because the kayak sits a little lower in the water than some of the other Oru kayaks, this makes paddling a bit easier. You don’t have to angle the paddle downward so much to get it in the water.
I love my Bay ST! The lake looks very appealing! Much less setup/breakdown time, the trade off with the capability. I suppose I could fit both in the trunk of my car if the surf is too rough!
I’ve ridden in a Bay and now own a Lake. It has MUCH less capability- maybe should be called “Pond” or “Lake on Calm Days Only”. I am very happy with my Lake, absolutely it’s expanding the number of times and places I get to paddle because it’s so portable & storable. But it’s not nearly the kayak that the Bay is.
My floorboard doesn’t remove nearly this easy. Matter of fact, still working on it! EDITED TO ADD: Okay, figured out that ends must come up and out a fair amount to allow floorboard to move. Whew!
Just got mine. So simple to put together i just winged it and it worked. Had to pull up the video to figure out how to turn it back into the box form. 🎉
Does anyone else have a problem connecting the tension strap in the back of the seat? My male connector on this strap is different from all the other ones and it doesn't fit into any of the female connectors for any of the straps.
😮 that looks simple enough i can do it. Wish the space in the back was combined with the apace in the front so i could fit my little kid. The inlet looks to confusing to assemble so i will buy this lake one❤
This needs a skeg until a collapsed type kayak comes with a skeg no way I will ever get rid of my Intex Canary that thing has been a rock for 6 years in every type of water. Inflatable’s have one massive advantage against the currents as they hug the water more than any other kayaks.
Hello oru we have been trying to contact you for a week now and you haven’t responded at all maybe fix your customer service. You brag about live chats yet you have nothing
You need to slow down this tutorial and show how parts fit together. How does the seat board fit in and connect? When I tried, it was not at all obvious how to secure the seat…
As others said, crazy difficult the first time. Instructions left lot of questions, especially for the back end of the kayak. Folding instructions weren't much help. More of a marketing ad
Hello! We invite you to check the material details and duration on our page and/or socials. You can test our boats with the different dealers we have in several locations. Happy paddling! 🧡

I hope that is the case. I'm about to return mine to the store. 15 minutes into it and I am exhausted!

Awesome guideline! My LAKE just arrived and is now successfuly assembled. Tomorrow is an ORU LAKE day. Cannot wait :-) Yeah!!

Can you also have someone doing a voice over for all the steps?
Hi! Thank you for your suggestions, we'll send them over to the content team! 🧡
Agreed, the music is annoying. How about telling me what you're doing?.
Just got mine today. So happy it came early, just in time for my Birthday and trip to the Adirondack. Heres hoping assembly isn't a pain and it all works!
I wish they would make it more clear which fold lines to push. The whole thing is fold lines!
My two arrived today. Stoked!!! Goodbye heavy, PITA to set up, take down and clean/dry out inflatable kayaks.
JUST GOT MINE... ROIVER IS CALLING AND I MUST GO!
Mine got delivered today. Can't wait to take it out.

Got my Lake out on the water today, and back in my car 😃 fun boat! BTW I think you should use “front” and “back” in your video instead of bow & stern.
the stern folds are very confusing-every picture-diagram is different and there is no clarity in how to make it work or even how it is supposed to look.
Did you figure it out yet? I’m struggling with the stern part!
What is this made of? How long will it last? It looks as though it might tear along fold lines after folding and unfolding a couple of years.
hard, corrugated plastic. Oru says the folds should last thousands of folds.
I've had my Oru Bay + for about eight years and it's extremely durable and going strong. Oru makes a fantastic kayak
Do you have any issues with the Lake one being too wide? Do you hit the side of the boat when you paddel? Worried about the width.

It’s called a lake - is good for taking in the ocean?
Are the edges sharp if you are climbing back in from the water?
No sharp edges
Wish it had some ties included to attach stuff to hold in place with. Why white? Just curious. Cool Idea.
This video is missing the strap inside at the back, which makes things much easier!

I bought a Lake+, so how can I install the fottrest accessory?
Hello, Patty! Here's a video to put the footrest. Les us know if it was helpful. Thank you! ruclips.net/video/qYt1_ml6nw8/видео.htmlfeature=shared

How easy is it to balance in this kayak? Is it tippy?
It’s very stable side to side. Walls aren’t high enough to deal with any chop, though.

Ich frage mich wie viele Male man das ganze falten kann bis es dann brüchig wird..!?!

Hello oru we have been trying to contact you for a week now and you haven’t responded at all maybe fix your customer service. You brag about live chats yet you have nothing

This guide is awful, more focused on demoing how quick it is and not showing or describing anything for someone actually trying to put it together

genial
Terrible instructions. Japanese words over English instructions.
At least make that separate for the key areas so it can be seen.
Very disappointed so far. The stern assembly makes no sense.
using male and female straps is offensive. No one asked them what their pronouns were.
This actually helped me understand better
very expensive for a disposable product, should be $100 tops

I have had the product for 8 mo. No issues and very handy. We live it so much that we are going to share it with others when we can.❤
