This year I lost my Dad, step mom, step dad, and dog of 10 years, and started grief counseling today. I havent been in a good head space for a while and came home in a funk to put it lightly. The anectdote about introducing deathclaws too early in F4 seems to have resonated with BGS. In starfield, the first planet you go to has an abandoned research outpost where they were breeding something called Terrormorphs to be used as bioweapons. tHe outpost is full of terminals and note of how awesome they are and how they will win the war fast and how everyone is getting a promotion and ohshittheterororphsescapdweareallgonnadie.
You never see one. When you join the vanguard faction, you can see a museum exhibit that shows a model, but it isn't until several missions that you actually see one. And when you do, it is so overpowered you need to rely on a gauntlet of pre installed autoturrets to take it down.

These work environments breed innovation and don't allow for second guessing. So many games now are overthought and over cooked

If only they had a game closer to the ‘Northern frontier’*?
      What a minnit, that’s what I’m writing!
A Pen & Paper RPG regional sourcebook around Vermont, but heavily influenced by the Canadian occupation, European immigrants trying to escape to a contested region and all the end results of evil plans of long dead prewar Americans.
I’d be interested to hear if you have any ideas on the implications of Canadian occupation, possibilities for adventure content and local knowledge that a fan who doesn’t even live in the country might need.
I am including a ‘cadien’ diaspora post war, echoing the establishment of the cajuns, but a bit more north (Ticonderoga)
      Anyways, have a good one!

Reason why I am really hoping Fallout Cascadia comes out as it features a Canadian faction. Not sure where you could do it, but Fallout Ronto or Montreal would be pretty dope. It would have been more of the 60-70's but with stuff like Expo 67 would be perfect for pulling from for a Fallout Montreal/Quebec/Canada with all the "what-if" stuff from the worlds fair. Commenting to boost engagement and gush about how awesome this was. Thank you Tim and Mantis! This video is excellent from start to finish, I wish it could have gone on for twice as long! Also, I agree, it was really neat to hear Tim talk about his hobbies and things outside of game development too. :)

That was a fun watch. I love to learn about the creative minds behind projects, like Fallout.
    Spoilers:
I love knowing just how much influence D&D had on Fallout. Makes me really wish there was a Fallout game, that played like Baldur's Gate. I think that'd be damn fun.

Congrats mantis!!! What a blessing to get such a legend on!
I would’ve been nervous myself so I can imagine if you were too. Some critiques would be being mindful of interruptions. There were a few times I was curious what Tim was going to say but an answer interruption was made and the conversation shifted.
I have no doubt you’ll become more refined as you grow

You have come a long way, my friend, and this interview is amazing. I hope you had an amazing halloween and just overall a good day. ❤

P.s. I love the way went about it and just discussed casual stuff, I really enjoyed it. Great idea!

I knew there was a reason The Outer Worlds really spoke to me when I played. I still distinctly remember a dialogue option for some character that has you running around catching sprats that have gotten loose and it's just: "punch him in the eye."
But from being able to kill major NPCs in the story, to being able to turn in the professor who thaws you out. The Outer Worlds was an amazing game. I just wish they maintined the gameplay mechanic of being able to swap from 1st to 3rd person. It is still one of my favorite gameplay mechanics.
