I haven't seen a drum corps competition where the drum major speaks into a microphone before the show starts, and I'm surprised this drum major is speaking English into the microphone! Why is that? I will admit that it's convenient for me because I can't read a word of Filipino!
Here in the Philippines the mother majorette have to speak to represent her team or the name of the band and English is our second language so everyone can understand. Thank you for watching and more drum and LYRE videos in the future.
@ Curiously, that practice (having the "mother majorette" speak about the drum & lyre corps) seems to be limited to very specific drum & lyre corps in the Philippines. From what I've seen, marching bands in the Philippines (like Saint Joseph Band 98) don't do it; drum & bugle corps in the Philippines don't do it (like the Cavite Cavaliers) don't seem to do it; and even other drum & lyre corps (like the Cavite City Blue Coats) don't have it! Do correct me if I am wrong!
@@MicahtheDrumCorpsPseudoboomer I never watch Drum & Lyre yet in Luzon, but here in Negros , Mother majorette speaks. But some vloggers / uploader they cut it in that part, they proceed to the performance.
