Two absolute essentials for this car: Bowers and Wilkins audio and air suspension. I previously had an X5M50 with standard suspension, but my new X5M60 came with air. The ride quality and comfort have improved dramatically. Regarding audio, the standard Harman is good, especially for electronic music with heavy bass, but the B&W takes the listening experience to a whole other level.
I might be getting one.. my wife finally gave in lol....... Want dravit grey with something like cognac leather, air suspension and coming from the RX500h with the mark levinson system, I cannot stand the harmon kardon, I tried to tune it etc, but it sounds pretty crappy in comparison.. So adding the BW system, pricing it all out on Monday.. wish me luck !
I had no issues with he handling in the SQ7 i drove in dynamic mode, it was flat and felt great, its not as tall as a X5... it has 500hp.. and when you put it in comfort its quiet and very smooth and quiet.
The handling is fine in Audi but the Bimmer is a little tighter. The 40i will not be compatible to the sq7 as power is extremely different as well as the driving. Seating for the BMW I recommend the 20 power adjustment which is more than likely what you tested with Audi but most of the extra seat seating you have to do on the lower touchscreen. Drive the m60i so you can see what I am as all of the vehicle you tested will be more 50/50 weight distribution then Lexus. Meaning when you hit a corner at high speeds it will stay flat like you experienced in Audi. Good luck with your search and thanks for the info
@@HawkeyeRides drove the X6 60i yesterday afternoon.. its lower than the X5, and I liked it a lot.. Im not buying the Audi, the 2 dealers I went to treated me poorly, so Monday the dealer GM will be back with the X5 60i on Monday, so going to check it out.. if I buy one I will post its specs.
@@HawkeyeRides went for the SQ8..... like the looks of the X5 60i better, loved it actually.... but it came down to comfort for this 56 year old with back problems and I like how you fit into the seats more laid back with your legs more in front of you sort of half like a car half like a SUV... I guess thats why my insurance slip says "crossover"... The bmw you have your legs more vertical, and you sit up higher.. I didnt like this feel, also the steering has little feel in the bmw, it was so light I think I could drive it with my baby finger... my RX500h steering feel is better, and the audi was spot on in my opinion........ also the bmw wants to turn in, so you go around a bend and I find it wants to turn a bit more than you want it to, and for some people they might like this..... also I like how the audi in comfort is very quiet, it is quieter than the BMW, less road noise also, which is nice, but agreesive in dynamic when you want.. not all the time.... so that was my experience with the M60i... Great review Anthony. I think I'm looking at your next SUV😁That exhaust note is truly intoxicating. I thought the color was solid black until you got to the rear shot and that really is gorgeous and so is the interior color as well. I know I'd be at the DMV and traffic court all the time if I had this one! It's crazy to me that it's November already. Time is just going by too quickly. It only got up to 85 here and I will take that any day. How are things on your side? I hope that your contractor showed up and is making some progress. I'm not big on mickey d's either. It's okay every once in a while. Hoping all is well and happy Friday Anthony
Thank you James. My brother bought one almost a year ago so o can’t buy it 🥹. It’s a brother thing I have to have something different lol. He had a Porsche I have a Maserati it’s a crazy brother against brother 😂. I agree though when he let me borrow it for a few days, I had to clean the engine out with performance. That’s great weather, we are about the same here and I know the year is almost over. A few more months and taxes. His team came today, one guy and his younger son. They are still working but looks like mid next week to finish the kitchen but we might not have a stove or oven for two weeks. The pro is it is almost over just like this election lol. Happy Friday James and hope to see you on the livestream tomorrow at 11am est and the next one we will change the time later with an update on the community tab.
Memo to BMW: Please, please offer this engine in the 5 series sedan. I have given up on whining any more about the proliferation of gimmicks (gesture, the goofy screens, back up assist, etc.) but could you please add back a decent shifter and the engine stop/start override button? Thanks for providing spare tires again, but let's not get too carried away with the super big wheels that will never survive in the typical pothole and road hazard urban environment.
I've been bouncing back between a decision for the X5 M60 or X6 M60. I've owned 3 X5's and the current one is 12 yrs old. The X5 appears just a big more masculine of an SUV so I think that's where I'll land.
Huge BMW fan and own a 2023 X7. I think they dropped the ball with the exhaust. There is barley an exhaust note coming out of that beast of a V8. Come on BMW. let us hear that engine.
@HawkeyeRides Good to hear. I was wondering about that. I couldn't find any info online regarding the lights performance. Getting my x5 delivered in 2 days. Excited 🤗 Thank you
Right choice! You’ll LOVE that car. It’s on my radar too for a year now. Next year i’ll buy one of these with air suspension and B&W sound system and highway assistant. Highway assistant steers and accelerates the car automatically.
I have a X7 M60i. The biggest problem of these cars is that you have to constantly pull the lever switching from comfort to sport mode in city drivings. The sport mode is way too aggressive and the comfort mode will shut the engine 100s times in stop-and-go traffic. Quite annoying that you can't turn the auto-shut off. Other than that, it is a fantastic engine to shame those EV rats on the road.
@@jiwanli I got used to start stop on my X5M60. To me it's working smooth and not too annoying. And when it is I use an individual sport mode with comfort suspension and steering settings.
Opt for the 2023 over the new giant screen that makes adjusting anything at 70mph or 25mph in the city needlessly difficult. If you buy a 523 hp SUV you need to focus on the road not on an iPad.
would you choose this m60i or the GLE580? Both are super comparable, but I am curious about your opinion in terms of quality (creaks/rattles, etc.) and reliability. Also, do you think the air suspension is worth the extra cost? Great review!!
I would go m60i. The aging for bmw holds together better inside and reliable on the Bimmer is great. Zf auto-transmission is bullet proof but just like the Benz you will have some problems. All of the auto companies go cheap on water pumps, radiators and false codes. Either of the two as you go past the warranty make sure you keep up with service but the fans are now mix with plastic so they go out around 70ish k and if a sensor goes out wait and recheck it so you don’t replace something that is not needed. The Benz is an awesome vehicle but the transmission isn’t as strong, ac fan motors go out, creaks and rattles are more because of extra aesthetics added to cover plastic. Oh and the air suspension is good it’s not lake a Range Rover that can go around 40-50k.
im looking now... I havent driven the M60i, but i did drive the X5 40i... I did NOT like it. You sit up on the seat, versus my Lexus rx500h is more layed back into the seat, the steering is so light on the X5 it was hard to find the centre of the steering.. it annoyed me.. It was not quieter than my RX, it had similar power I would say... I dont know if the M60 steering is better but this super light feeling did not impress me at all and how you sit up with your knees almost at 90 degree angle instead of sitting back into the seat with your legs out straighter annoyed me, and I could not get past these things on the BMW. Also it feels more top heavy, my lexus is lower, and more coupe like, I did not like how the steering wheel covers part of the screen when you are driving.. I could not get the adjustments right on this either, the screen is just square, its not shaped to fit withing your viewing space under the rim of the steering wheel when you are driving.. Things I dont like about my Lexus, you cannot adjust the bolsters on the seat sides, or the butt width area either, and its a bit tight for me. I dont like you cannot get real leather, no massaging seats available etc... but its cheaper also... the steering feel on the lexus is far superior, its weighted, and just feels nice, no centering issues......... Compared to a Q7 which is what I am looking at now, the Q7 sits more back into the seat with your legs more out front, the Q7 is lower, the steering feel is perfect, the space in the back is bigger, its quieter, more refined, and a overall better experience than the Lexus or the X5... The harmon kardon in the bmw is not very good, the bang and O in the Audi is ok, but not great..... you would have to get the upgraded systems for both IMO.. Overall the Q7 is nicer.. the bmw is nicer looking, and I like the interior a bit better.. I like the M60i look and power, Im sure its fast, you can get so many more options in these than a Lexus Rx or Tx.. I think im done with Lexus to be honest.. I think the Q7 is the car for me. SQ7 is very nice also... just dont need the V8.
