Robby and the Kansas band were friends and the band as it exists in 2024 still are my friends. Robby was my favorite member. From, Ogre in Utah. Rock In Peace 🙏
Kansas was my favorite band for years. Once, at a concert, I was in the 5th row or so. Robbie kept smiling and winking at me (no really). I thought, "He knows how much I love them." Toward the end of the show, he said to the crowd, "I want everyone to wish my niece a happy birthday." The girl next to me stood up.
Ha! Good one. 8 D
Robby, you are missed. You were a major part of my life's soundtrack. Thank you for this chance to see you one last time.
I LOVE Kansas! R.I.P. Robby. Closet Chronicles, Baby!
Seems like a really wonderful gentleman. RIP Robbie
I got to work with Kansas. Robby was one of the pros and I will never forget how kind and caring he was.
He seems like a really good dude
I'm so sad Robbie is gone !!!! 😔
Kansas was so great and I seen them 6 times at their height from 1976 -1981' from Boston to NYC, just always Fantastic !!! 👍🎶🎸🎻🎤🎹🥁🎸🎼✌
I know your parents were saying Carry on....Son. When i listen to Kansas i listen to Robbie. Your violin may have gone silent but it will live on FOREVER
I always felt Robbie was the image of the band.... He was a towering figure and his stage presence was masterful.. He was a great musician and I always enjoyed their shows...
Robby and Steve Walsh had such different voices, but when they sang together it was magic.
I was thinking the same thing! They had a great vocal blend
What a great story! He was blessed with great parents! Finally!
❤️🎻 Rest in Peace, Robbie 🎻❤️. You are missed.
What a great story by one of the best musicians of the Classical Rock era! Thanks for your contributions Robbie RIP.
Great interview. I loved Kansas. Still do. Point of No Return is baked into my musical DNA.
Kansas had a huge influence on me as a composer. Because of Robby I incorporated violin into my music. God bless you Robby and thanks... see you on the other side.
In 1997, I stood 10 feet from him in Opelosus, LA, while he sang Child of Innoncence. I'll never forget that ever❤ RIP
Robbie, great interview. You, too, have always been extremely intelligent, warm and giving! I too am an Irish Catholic/Jew! Grateful my children/grandchildren do hang with me. I carry great years together with Jeff & Budd and all of KANSAS....thank you for carrying on!!
Thank you for sharing.
His music is part of my life since the very first albums back in the 70s. I didn't know about his solo album, will go for it now.
Dust in the Wind is wonderful and was a big hit here in Brazil too.
May he rest in peace.
Rip Sir...I would not be the person I am if it weren't for Kansas. There music all ways seemed to resonate with me thru out my entire life.
I was blessed to see you in '79, and wouldn't trade the experience for anything. Your parents gave you some precious advice, and beyond all the great music and memories, you left us some very important advice of your own: Honor and appreciate your parents, they're not gonna be here forever. RIP Robby Stienhardt. We won't forget you.
One of the most important in music and rock history
Robby, you were/are a National Treasure.💯💯
Got to see them at the treasure chest in New Orleans front row seats couldn't have been more than ten feet away. But this was one of the last of a dozen times I had seen them. Every show was great.
Great interview of the most amazing band
Kansas: greatest rock band birthed out of America 😊
He’ll always be bigger than life to me…
Good way to put it.
One of my all-time favorite singer musicians I truly miss this guy😢
RIP Robby was one of a kind
Master Musician
Robbie. Had a great voice !
Seemed like he was a super cool level headed guy, not one who would push you aside when you asked for an autograph!
All the guys in Kansas were so private. He's one that really should've made himself more available to the public as an individual personality. Very interesting guy - even unique.
Rest In Beats, Robby Steinhardt.
Saw these guys on POINT OF KNOW RETURN and MONOLITH tours, amazing band , Robbie you're very much missed....
I miss this kind of music! Where is harmony and creative quality?
I strongly encourage people to listen to his Solo CD, you can really hear Robby's influence in Kansas and the songs just grow on you. Cindy his wife is so nice to us Wheatheads and she's still and will always be part of the Kansas family.
There were Violin in many Classic Prog bands from the 1970s England, Germany to Italy !! 🎻🎼🎶
We know Ronnie, your point?
Daryl Way of Curved Air was fantastic on the violin. PFM from Italy also had a lot of violin in their music.
@@lashedbutnotleashed1984 Yes the do 👍🎻🎶
"🎉🎉How long, how long to the point of no return "
Rest in Peace now that you are done, friend
RIP
Hmm there were high profile rock violinists prior to Kansas eg. David LaFlamme of It's A Beautiful Day and Jerry Goodman of The Flock / Mahavishnu but I think it was still enough of a novelty back then to give them the edge with Wally Gold & Don Kirshner in securing their record contract.
Daryl Way of Curved Air also was great on violin and PFM from Italy had a violinist before Kansas.
@@lashedbutnotleashed1984 Both superb bands!
When was this interview?
When was this recorded?
🎻 🌪️ 🌬️
You need to assign a real interview date to this. Robby passed on in 2021.
Dust 🥱
He lies violins were successfully used by its a beautiful Day 😮 on White Bird
He never said he was the first. Daryl Way of Curved Air played the violin also before Kansas.
I am glad I got to tell Robby how much his music meant to me. I had the pleasure of knowing him over several years and the time I spent with he and Cindy were among the happiest times of my life. He passed on my birthday....I don't know if that meant anything in the grand scheme but it insures that to me, he will never be forgotten.
