This reminds me of my old man, he was a Bricky of the old school, did his apprenticeship in the late 1930's, he loved all this fancy stuff!

One reason I love this channel is ....
You ALWAYS show mistakes or talk about things that are difficult to do.... that makes you “normal” like everyone else in the building industry.... you don’t hide errors and make out you’re always right👍

I want to be a bricklayer so much I love it. I’m doing N5 construction course at College and I’ve done joinery, slating, plastering, brickie and scaffolding but I like the bricklaying the best so I hope I get into it in 2019

I've never built a Herringbone panel using lines, always free hand by eye. That's the way I was taught, saves time. Your wall looks real nice. Great job. USA here.

I love the blue/black brick against the red. I'm planning on making my own version of this soon, thanks so much for the inspiration. The only thing that I would change is making the herringbone section 1 course more, 9 in total. This way you would break the bond of the top herringbone section against the stretcher courses (the bottom part of the herringbone is done this way). I'm really just being nit picky, but in a positive way :) I think you do amazing work and its inspiring

Nice looking panel Stu 👍. I’m retired now and finished my career as an instructor. We all know layout is critical and centering a herringbone panel is even more critical. And the way you know you are properly centered is the cuts on either side are the same size. Your panel appears to be centered properly in the video. And I’m curious why you and others don’t describe the methodology of centering the panel during the layout.
In other words, if you start by setting the first small cut dead center your side cuts will differ. What method did you use for layout? Or are your side cuts different?
