I sit at my piano for about an hour or so going through many chord progressions to get one that's as accurate. Plus layering is key. The chords are the foundation but the rest of the instrumentation is important. You want odd synths or bells or strings. Stuff needs to be happening. Drums matter too. They get things moving. Idk if I'm helping at all but layering is very important. You want basic chord progressions sometimes but layering helps it sound complex even if it isn't. And sometimes (like myself) you can get away with making a dookie track if you make it sound cool.
