good answer ;) The GT FORCE is a very very nice bike, I loved to ride it but the problem is, for me the next good trails are far the force 3.0 2010 was about 17kg sweet to go and easy handling in every terrain Now I build a GT AVALANCHE 1.0 with SRAM X7 2x10 - Shimano MT15 26" 180mm Hidraulic Brakes and now I'm gonna buy a better fork something like a recon "solo air" hardtails are nice to go on roads
bad luck....i just built a force1.0 with all the latest xt gear including the clutch driven deraileur...fantastic bike... ..i did a shit load of research b4 i bought the frame.. i didnt want the bike to light ..i have a seriously light merida hard tail...sweet ride...but i wanted something to smash down the trails, hence the gt... all was needed for you was a bottom bracket socket( shimano one) undo the BB , clean grease and reassemble...
There seems to be a reservoir with a rubber cap. I s there supposed to be a fluid in there? My bike is making a creaking noise down there when I peddle.
thanks, but the answer was a bit late and the bike is already sold again because of a not knowing and solveable noise in the i-drive system I changed back to a hardtail .. (fully was an gt force 3.0 2010)
hello, I got a GT Force 3.0 2010 with iDrive and the iDrive system makes a strange noise when I'm peddleing.. what tools I need to get this solved??? thanks
They use 2 standard shimano bottom bracket tools. It's easy to mess up the teeth, so put a piece of all thread through the center to hold them in place.
that "Flex bone" or "I-Forged Link" is one of the biggest weakness in these bikes, I own myself a Marathon Team and I have to replace that shit every 3 months, annoying as f@ck !
screw heads break off, parts unavailable and must be fabricated or replaced with furniture parts after drilling out the old ones. Disposable frame, really, that requires salvage, not maintenance

@@wojtekkampe5882 It says something to abandon support. GT/Pacific/Dorel is saying that they have no responsibility after the sale and their bikes are disposable at the bottom of the hill. They can do that if they like, but I will remember it every time I hear them speak and every time I see a GT bike.
@@wojtekkampe5882 Again, I found ones in spring steel , CNC cut at www.vorteque.com/ and use ONLY high strength 1.09 M5 bolts. The anchor is an 8mm M5 furniture anchor if you drill it out, otherwise you have to cut down, crosdrill and tap a shoulder bolt. Not fun.
