    What a FUN workout! Challenging enough to push us out of our comfort zone. I love how it goes straight to each exercise without lengthy instructions so that returning viewers can make the most out of their workout time and of course beginners can always pause or slow down the speed. One week in and when I unconsciously hit that high note of a favorite song for the first time without cracking, I almost thought it was pure luck, which it wasn’t. This workout does pay off!

  • @MrMikomi
    @MrMikomi Год назад +5

    Many thanks for this. I am a boy (man) and have been doing this on and off for the last couple of years and I am virtually certain that it has improved my voice - tone, accuracy and range. Really I just wanted to be able to sing higher notes as that seems to be in vogue in modern pop sung by boys (men) and doing the tenor exercises didn't seem to help with this. What I have found is that a) no matter how infrequently it is done, it is beneficial, b) doing it at volume (full-throatedly rather than timidly) seems to make it more beneficial (presumably doing it louder means the muscles/tissues strengthen more), c) doing some of the faster (trickier) exercises at 0.75 speed also helps. From memory I think I do 1,2,3, 7 and 10 at 0.75x but to each his (or her) own! The faster ones, when I did them at 1x, I could hear that my pitch was not good. Doing them slower has improved my pitch/accuracy I think.

    It's confusing me that there is a sustain with an extra note and then the next key starts. I was trained where it seamlessly flowed up and down the scales

    One of the vocalists I admire the most is Ozzy Osbourne, and he doesn't have much of a vocal range. You should mention the genres that you enjoy to filter out people who don't enjoy this kind of workout, because I actually find a welcome challenge in trying to find alternate octaves in a more limited range. It makes for some interesting vocal performances.

    I got to say it: it might take a few seconds extra to explain how the exercises are done, but trust me so many people need it, including me because I have ADHD. So I can’t quickly in one within one minute go back-and-forth and back-and-forth and back-and-forth to find out what I’m supposed to do on a certain note, and by the time in G is over I’m singing it. So this video was like the furthest thing from helpful. And I am subscribe to the channel so I’m disappointed I guess. But I guess we can’t win them all. And there’s probably other people I’m sure that are perfectly fine with no directions except for in the description where they have to stop the video and go back and read. Personally, I think I would never make contact like that.
