I am currently on my shrek the musical hyper fixation arc and this has to be one of the best high school renditions. In all honesty in my most humble opinion this can surely rival the Broadway version. Absolutely beautiful and every single cast member is talented and glowing!
Omg, this is is amazing! These kids are really passionate about this show, the costumes were amazing, the set was awesome. The cast is so talented! The choreography was good, They had a good audiance, the one thing that bugged me was that the songs were SO SLOW. But overall this was an amazing performance and these kids should be proud.
Okay but this high schools musical theater program is huge. Like not only budget wise but like in my high school we’ve got like 3 boys and they’ve got like 18

Not to brag but I was Shrek in Shrek the musical as a 12 year old girl with absolutely no lower register and the inability to do a Scottish accent😙🤜 Now I’ll let you imagine what big bright beautiful world was like when my teacher made me sing two octaves higher than it was written and I sung it with a Canadian accent (hint: I was inaudible it was incredible)

this cast is great. i have seen a lot of versions of this show on youtube that made me angry with how bad it is and how women are cast as men as well so it just does not work
one of the songs [the travel song] is extremely hard bc donkey and Shrek singing over each other [they are singing all at once] so at my school whenever they practise the travel song, they get confused, and are pathetic [one of the music teachers words] so she had to call a emergency choir meeting. saying that we need to sing it with them [im a soprano] and the altos have to sing shrek's part, the sopranos sing donkey's part, and i suck myself, so BIG credit to donkey and shrek in this school's production
