Heartbreaking. As a born Jewish girl whose grandparents visited Israel in 1967 I understand the importance of a Jewish homeland. In America, my grandmother would go through the newspapers during the war, and she would look at the names of the displaced people arriving in America to see if it was family. 😢 But having survived the war we are the last people who should turn around and do the same thing. My heart is broken 💔
They aren't doing the same thing. Hamas is like Isis. They are terrorists. It is a complicated situation. The history is complicated. Ceasefires haven't worked in the past because of Hamas. Hamas is using the people of Gaza as human shields and have built tunnels and arsenals under hospitals. What do you propose Israel to do?

But I owe it to these people who are living this hell to hear the stories of their loved ones and to never forget what has happened to these beautiful people. I’m 53 years old and I remember being extremely upset when my first experience with war, was in 1992, when Bosnia declared its independence from Yugoslavia. The Serbs “ethnic cleansed” Bosniak and Croatian civilians, men and boys from Srebrenica, where rounded up and slaughtered, 8,000 of them, the siege of Sarajevo resulted in over 11,000 people killed, of which 1,600 were just children. I remember this same feeling, I was only 22 and I was scared, I had never seen graphic news coverage like it before, maybe WW11 documentaries, but it didn’t quite seem real as it was another time. I was in such shock, like I am with this horrible event on 7th October, indescribable things were carried out and I can not believe there is so much suffering, still, we have not learnt a thing from history, those who went through the war between 1992-1995 can tell you they are still traumatised, and these Israeli people will be the same, so much damage has been done to these people, let’s not forget either of these horrible atrocities brought to innocent human beings. I actually feel like I could vomit, and I am a person who lives on the other side of the world, I have no family connections to either Israel or Palestine, I have not lost a loved one, may God I truly can not comprehend what these people went through and the loved ones left behind that are grieving. I feel the same way. As you, I am not Jewish nor do I have a relative who is Jewish or from Israel. But it’s gut-wrenching still. I’m amazed at how some of those families are managing to get by. I haven’t seen clearer examples of fortitude. Meanwhile, I cannot watch more than one or two of the survivor’s videos in a day. I do eventually watch them to pay my respects. God bless Israel.
I feel the Same as you, I'm from the UK, but living in Ireland. I'm 61, and I had a Very dear friend in UK who was from Yugoslavia, she was brought to the UK by her father, during all the Killings, she lost her mother, and the rest of her family. I also had several Jewish friends over the years, I Cannot stand how they are treated by certain others. The psychological fear will haunt everyone for decades. That's what terrorists want to achieve not to kill but to inflict fear & trauma for generations with all the brutality. Prayer for the family and all the victims. This stories coming out are gut-wrenching horror.
This war isn't even over yet and the terrorists are already saying they will attack Israel again in the future so they are already putting fear in anyone who stays or returns there. As a Coptic Egyptian (Christian) I know how you feel. I lived persecution for 15 years till we left . We were always treated poorly. As a child I recall our German shepherd dog being killed because he would bark when terrorists and the neighbors who help them were trying to enter our home or move weapons. I know Egypt well. I've never heard of any Christians (Coptic or others) initiating any violence against Moslems in Egypt. You quietly take the abuse they give you as this is the only way you will survive. Since Oct 7 with the massive amount of reporting occurring, I never hear anyone talking about the impact of living in the Middle East as a Christian or minority. People barely mention Palestinian Christians (and other Palestinian minorities) and what it's like to live in an area controlled by Hamas. II listened to an israeli podcast in which two of the survivors talked and one of them has confirmed that IDF shot many of the victims at the kibbutz in the crossfire as if they had been ordered. An old lady testified that the captors took a dozen of them in a room to save them from the shootings and treated them humanly. Geve them water and helped the elderly women sit down etc. The israeli riporter wouldn't believe what they wer saying. It isn't a coincidence this event was called Israek's pearl harbour when the US government had foreknowledge and sacrificed lifes to be able to enter the war. I don't know why i keep watching videos of the stories of the victims, survivors and their families. They are heart-wrenching, just heart-wrenching. I don't need to be persuaded of how incredibly, mind- blowingly awful it was, and yet I keep watching. I'm so sad for everyone, and I'm so angry that the world is not protesting about Hamas and demanding that they return the hostages and surrender, or at least criticizing them. I despair over this. I am not Jewish, but my son in law is Israeli-American and my ex husband, who I have 3 kids with is Jewish. I feel that you don't have to be Jewish, or even know anyone Jewish, to be human enough to be affected by what has happened to our Jewish brothers and sisters. I have been deeply effected by these stories, thank you for the coverage and giving us an opportunity to understand and for your respectful journalism. they are so hard to watch and I feel horrible afterwards. But I owe it to these people who are living this hell to hear the stories of their loved ones and to never forget what has happened to these beautiful people. I’m 53 years old and I remember being extremely upset when my first experience with war, was in 1992, when Bosnia declared its independence from Yugoslavia. The Serbs “ethnic cleansed” Bosniak and Croatian civilians, men and boys from Srebrenica, where rounded up and slaughtered, 8,000 of them, the siege of Sarajevo resulted in over 11,000 people killed, of which 1,600 were just children. I remember this same feeling, I was only 22 and I was scared, I had never seen graphic news coverage like it before, maybe WW11 documentaries, but it didn’t quite seem real as it was another time. I was in such shock, like I am with this horrible event on 7th October, indescribable things were carried out and I can not believe there is so much suffering, still, we have not learnt a thing from history, those who went through the war between 1992-1995 can tell you they are still traumatised, and these Israeli people will be the same, so much damage has been done to these people, let’s not forget either of these horrible atrocities brought to innocent human beings. I actually feel like I could vomit, and I am a person who lives on the other side of the world, I have no family connections to either Israel or Palestine, I have not lost a loved one, may God I truly can not comprehend what these people went through and the loved ones left behind that are grieving. I feel the same way. As you, I am not Jewish nor do I have a relative who is Jewish or from Israel. But it’s gut-wrenching still. I’m amazed at how some of those families are managing to get by. I haven’t seen clearer examples of fortitude. Meanwhile, I cannot watch more than one or two of the survivor’s videos in a day. I do eventually watch them to pay my respects. God bless Israel.

I feel the Same as you, I'm from the UK, but living in Ireland. I'm 61, and I had a Very dear friend in UK who was from Yugoslavia, she was brought to the UK by her father, during all the Killings, she lost her mother, and the rest of her family.

The psychological fear will haunt everyone for decades. That's what terrorists want to achieve not to kill but to inflict fear & trauma for generations with all the brutality. Prayer for the family and all the victims. This stories coming out are gut-wrenching horror.
This war isn't even over yet and the terrorists are already saying they will attack Israel again in the future so they are already putting fear in anyone who stays or returns there. I've never lived near a war zone but after seeing all of this, how do you feel safe to go back and rebuild a life there knowing the enemy is still so close and isn't done with the hatred and violence.

As a Coptic Egyptian (Christian) I know how you feel. I lived persecution for 15 years till we left . We were always treated poorly. As a child I recall our German shepherd dog being killed because he would bark when terrorists and the neighbors who help them were trying to enter our home or move weapons.

I know Egypt well. I've never heard of any Christians (Coptic or others) initiating any violence against Moslems in Egypt. You quietly take the abuse they give you as this is the only way you will survive. Since Oct 7 with the massive amount of reporting occurring, I never hear anyone talking about the impact of living in the Middle East as a Christian or minority. People barely mention Palestinian Christians (and other Palestinian minorities) and what it's like to live in an area controlled by Hamas. Since Oct 7 happened I've lost a well-educated Moslem Egyptian female friend who now lives in the West, She wants the destruction of the Jews, which I'm sure now also includes all other non-Moslems.

II listened to an israeli podcast in which two of the survivors talked and one of them has confirmed that IDF shot many of the victims at the kibbutz in the crossfire as if they had been ordered. An old lady testified that the captors took a dozen of them in a room to save them from the shootings and treated them humanly. Geve them water and helped the elderly women sit down etc. The israeli riporter wouldn't believe what they wer saying. It isn't a coincidence this event was called Israek's pearl harbour when the US government had foreknowledge and sacrificed lifes to be able to enter the war. The title of the video is "Israeli forces shot their own civilians, kibbutz survivor says"

I don't know why i keep watching videos of the stories of the victims, survivors and their families. They are heart-wrenching, just heart-wrenching. I don't need to be persuaded of how incredibly, mind- blowingly awful it was, and yet I keep watching. I'm so sad for everyone, and I'm so angry that the world is not protesting about Hamas and demanding that they return the hostages and surrender, or at least criticizing them. I despair over this.
