Bought my first stand on mower this year it’s a Ferris Z one 36 inch. I’m still getting used to it cut this good but very twitchy hard to make straight lines. Don’t know if anybody else has that issue. Maybe it’s just me 😊
What about all the options available with the Toro GrandStand MultiForce? It is a four season machine then. From plowing in the winter to a Mulch-Force mulch-bin that can carry 250lbs of mulch, Pro-Force blower with 7800 CFM of leaf blowing power! It has a lot to offer and one of the best warranties too 5-year 1200 hr!
For someone who deals with smaller residential lawns ,what do people recommend in terms of brands ? I only have experience with toro .but idk if I wanna go that route .I'm thinking ferris but idk
Ferris has best hand controls, adjustable to where your hands arent stretched open all day if most your lawns are bumpy to where you go kinda slow, plus ferris has front pivoting axle..Down fall is the hydro fluid changes are very hard to get to the bleeder top screws.I have had 3 Z3X 60",great other then the once a year hydro fluid change, and motor oil only needs changed once a year with the oil canister which is great
Vride II. However I like how the Wright will let you set a lowest cut ex 2.75. Then lock in place at 3.25. With the SCAG be prepared to drive with your left hand and control the deck with your right. I your uncomfortable with that don't get a SCAG.

Gravely actually does. I’ve got there pro stance 60” efi. Which has some downsides (deck hangs off the left which is prone to scalping and disrupts even lines / stripes but it does make trimming around things easier, seems to be a little underpowered but I’ve never really had it struggle (also haven’t cut anything too tall) it also misses crabgrass sometimes but I think that would be with most mowers but the controls and overall operating is amazing, imo they look really good, the gravelys are really simple as far as being easy to blow off and keep clean. My pro turn 160 is nice too and stripes pretty good but I find it missing grass occasionally (X factor 2 deck) it can also be a rough ride depending on the terrain though, controls are great as well. Again very easy to clean and you can also access the belts and top of the deck from a “hood” opening where your feet are, cup holder is handy but I find water bottles fall out easily especially on bumpy yards. The seat is very comfortable and overall it’s a good mower just could use some more power and a cleaner / more quality cut. I’m looking to upgrade both of mine and I’m looking at the pro stance ultra 60” efi ( which basically fixes all the issues I’m having but it adds some weight and obviously costs more) I’m thinking about maybe the Mach one 60” efi as well, I’m curious about the hvo deck on it or if I should stick with the X factor 3. I went to a local Ferris dealer but wasn’t that impressed, I didn’t car for a lot of the placement of controls and a lot of the controls are in odd spots or weird to conveniently reach. They are supposed to be getting a demo z3x in for me ( they didn’t have any there) but I haven’t had the best experience with the dealer so far, they seem ok just no where near the quality and experience I got with my gravely dealer. I’ve had a great experience with them and would not change a thing. After talking with the Ferris dealer some we discussed how they have trouble getting things in from Ferris which could create an issue if I ever had anything go wrong. I’ve heard of a lot more issues with the Ferris mowers than I have with the gravelys. I feel like if I was to go with Ferris I would have trouble getting parts and support, while gravely I am 100% confident they could get me the parts or lend me a mower. My biggest concern is cut quality and dealer support. My gravely dealer is family owned and I’d love to keep supporting them as they are great to deal with. I think upgrading my mowers to the pro stance ultra and maybe the Mach one (still debating on which one for the sit on) would solve the small issues and could potentially save me some time and give my customers more of a quality service. If anyone’s got any recommendations for which sit on to go with that’d be great
I had a gravely and loved it was underpowered though only had an 18 hp engine and that’s all I could get. I sold it and bought the Scag v ride 11 and I can’t stand it. It’s uncomfortable. The controls are five times harder to squeeze than the gravely. The springs are way too strong or something. The gravely had nice hydraulic like controls. If you let go quickly, the controls would come back slowly you let go of the Scagg controls by accident, and it will throw you right off the machine stops instantly it doesn’t handle inclines as well. Tears up the lawn on anything that has a slight incline. The only thing this Mower does and does well is cut. It has a 38 hp engine and goes through anything. I’m on my second summer with it and want to get rid of it. I hate it that much going to look at the Ferris models, there is a dealer 45 minutes away from me hopefully they take trades. The gravely also has a great stance. Your whole body could lean right into that pad the Scagg it’s like you’re downhill skiing. Your knees are the only thing that hit the pad. The pad is way too far forward on the top part. it’s just an uncomfortable machine, very disappointed from all the videos I watched and high praise that the v ride 11 got
I used to like exmark staris mowers, but they since did away with the model. Otherwise I really like the wright mowers. Never cared for Scag, Toro, Gravely, John Deere, and Hustler stand on.
I know the lawn care kid, fills lawn care, blades of grass, ambros landscaping, brians lawn maintenance, the lawn care life. I watch those people on RUclips!
I have a new Toro lithium, it sucks, drive wheel falls/self-powers off in 2nd hour, battery shorts, and on-line Toro will not take it back. They do not take items back if you use it for 1 minute! Their rear left geared wheel unbolts itself from the bracket, it self destructs! Two others have the same problem. Their repair dealer literally told me "with Toro, its Buyer Beware". I have a Toro case number, a BBB case number, and a US Consumer Product Safety Commission case number. Save yourself and learn from my mistake, and stay away from Toro.
Wow, that’s unfortunate to hear. I’ve heard this several times about problems with battery equipment and getting no support. I think a lot of these manufacturers released product quickly without considering how to train dealers, repair them, and warranty them. These mowers are very different than standard gas mowers.

You can more than likely adjust that so it's not as twitchy.
Adjust the stiffening rod of your front and rear axels. Also you may want to check the resistance bearings in your wheels.
Very normal when beginning on stand on mowers. Took me a few months before I was able to mow perfect straight lines again.
I really like the exmark vertex. It has a really good cut quality, speed and control.
I had a s series and now I have an x series both phenomenal mowers
@@jamesthomas6839 I plan on getting an x series, I’m aiming for ’25. Hopping to enjoy a year without a mower payment 😄
Pretty much all stand on mowers are commercial grade. The question is do you have a good dealer near by? Great video. Good accurate content.
Absolutely true! Most important part. And thank you! I appreciate it

Many of the mowers have these same attachments.
None of the manufactures has the attachment’s that Toro has
@@jonretzer4410 lots of add ons available for lots of different mowers, I myself have the dump attachment, the blower, and a plow.
Scag 32 love it
Hey, any thoughts on the Greenworks 32″ OptimusZ?
For someone who deals with smaller residential lawns ,what do people recommend in terms of brands ? I only have experience with toro .but idk if I wanna go that route .I'm thinking ferris but idk
Wright stander B for a smaller deck, Ferris z2/z3 if you can use a 52”, or a scag vride.

I wish you would have compared cost along with everything else.
Otherwise good review.

I like deere and Kubota stand on mowers in my opinion.
I agree they’re good mowers, just not my favorite.
@lawngrowth just curious how come? Did you get a lemon?
What about grasshopper
I think the new Bad Boy Mower is probably better than them all that Revolt 34 is fire and I'm thinking about picking it up now
Yessir just seen a video on that 1 and only five thousand dollars
Did you end up getting the revolt. I’d like to know what you think as I was thinking about getting a 52” revolt
The Toro Grandstand allows you to walk behind it.
True! As does the Gravely pro stance. It’s a trade off in my opinion and depends which matters more for your situation
Where does Grasshopper rate?
They make great mowers and their “newish” stand on is really good. I was able to demo it a couple of months ago and I really like it.
Is there a such thing as a stand on mower that cuts at 1 inch?
I doubt it

Wright came in number 3, but is the fastest, most fuel, family owned, smallest unit, 😂 sounds right
Number 1 in my book
@@Dpend84 definitely the best mowers!
in no real scenario would someone put Ferris ahead of the v-ride and the zk
No hustler mower
That's the fastest
Hustler sf
Also Bradley stand on great starter commercial
Fair. Bradley could be the best for the price, just in a bit of a different league than these others stand ons. Definitely a great starter though
For sure, that's what I'm thinking on upgrading too, if I go full time and get more clients
If I ever get to the point I have to find ways to screw my employees out of 30 seconds a yard, then I will probably seek counseling
😂😂

I don’t want a stand on mower. I want a mower with a recliner.......
I had you Scagg for years, but the customer support doesn’t seem to be there when you need it. That’s my reason for looking elsewhere.
Toro is definitely #1 then scag Ferris decks are terrible in wet grass…this video is definitely opinion based
Where is John deere
Personally, not a huge fan of their stand ons. They’re alright but nothing great in my opinion.
