First Dest, now Weah getting idiotic red cards. At what point does this become a pattern, what makes them think they can get away with this? Why is this culture, that is supposed to be cultivated by GGG, not holding these players accountable? Why did we try to bunker for 60 minutes? Anyone with a basic tactical understanding of the game knows how quickly you get tired when bunkering, why bunker for so long? Why take off Gio and later Balogun? So many questions

The game was lost the moment Weak got the red card. The USMNT pretty much played the whole game with 10 men. If anything, i think the US did okay with the few chances they got. Even if you don't want to bunker down, you are forced to bunker down with one man down. You don't have enough people up top, and if you move players, you leave gaps in midfield and defense. It would've been a goal fest if the US put one more man up front and left the gap in midfield or defense. I've never seen any team win or tie a game when being 1 man down the whole game. I'm sure there's a few, but it's pretty rare.

I’m an Italian living in USA, it’s interesting to me see how long it took to USA to get this point, and I mean to the point that US National soccer team gets so much anger, frustration and attachment from its people, you Americans finally embraced this wonderful sport and its sense: PASSION! which doesn’t make a much sense because it is all about feelings. All the best national soccer teams went through these cathartic moments to be able to turn into great! USMNT is at this point and it’s a privilege because for the first time in their history they have the team and the players to accomplish the endeavor! They can beat Uruguay and they can beat them bad, they just need to believe it. Tactics, formations and strategies are nothing without heart. Welcome to soccer US you made it!

The red card was a massive mistake. But then you make the changes you make at HT and invite Panamá to attack you for more than 45mins. The you double down by subbing out your best striker and a player that gives you pace and danger on the counter for a player who barely plays for his club and is unsuitable to play counter attacking football. Yes, Weah is at fault for making a stupid act. But let's not kid ourselves, this coach threw the towel and played for a draw. If you say you're the "giant" of CONCACAF, and you say you have better players than everyone else, there's no reason for you to drop back ultra defensive and invite pressure and hope for a draw. Mediocre coach, overrated players. And where was our "American Messi"? No accountability, no pressure, no shame. The USMNT coach and players are coddled and nothing will come out of this. I am from South America but I live in the USA. I know football like the back of my hand, having grown up in a football-centric environment my whole life. So, I'll share some opinions. First, the USA is the best country for sports, without a doubt, for many reasons that I won't elaborate on to keep it short. But if the USA wants to, it can become a powerhouse in any sport it chooses. The notion that they lack talent for football is false; if they train, they can be world champions. They are the richest country on the planet and the third most populous, with at least 40% of the population being descendants of Latinos or Europeans who love football. They have a great team, but to be honest, I think they were overconfident. They have good players, but not more than many teams in the Americas. Also, football is a collective sport, and they will learn that over time. All the great football countries have experienced failures like the recent one against Panama. I could give examples for hours, like Germany's 7-1 win over Brazil, which had the two best full-backs in the world, Dani Alves and Marcelo, or when Italy was knocked out of the World Cup after winning the Euro, or many teams that fail in the group stage only to win the next World Cup. That Brazil team that had four Ballon d'Or winners and didn't even make it to the semifinals in the 2006 World Cup. Football is like that, and I don't want to make this too long, but in summary, this happens because football is very psychological. You can have good players, but if they are not used to playing under the pressure of representing a national team, they will most likely fail. This happens with many teams that have good players but underperform in their national teams. I feel that Pepi is one of those players who, unfortunately, is not suited for the national team. The USA will not improve its football if it stays in CONCACAF. Although there has been growth and there are now good teams like Panama, Costa Rica, and Canada, which a few years ago were almost amateur teams, they still lack real competition. It’s not the same to play against France or England in a friendly as it is in an official match where both teams need the points. The big teams like Mexico and the USA don't feel that pressure in CONCACAF, as they qualify for almost every World Cup. In South America, they play at least six official matches a year against each other in packed stadiums with the pressure of an entire country. That's why they may have worse players than the USA, but in an official match, they are more likely to win, except for Bolivia; the other nine teams are extremely competitive because they know what it's like to play under pressure. The USA plays at that level only three times every four years in the World Cup. Then, for the next four years, they play only friendlies, amateur matches, or low-pressure games. This won't help them grow. Now they are back in the Copa America after years, and I think they will play it regularly from now on. That's good, and they will see improvement in a few years because these failures, these experiences of playing with a man down or under pressure, will help players get used to it. I would say that only with the last World Cup did this generation of good players start playing real matches. But again, if they play only four matches at that level every two years, it will be hard for them to grow. As a country, you have a lot of power; if you wanted, you could join CONMEBOL, which would welcome you with open arms for your money. But you would gain by playing at least six official matches every year in bad conditions, on poor fields, in packed away stadiums where they won't let you sleep in the hotels, where they will wear you out with kicks and blows. To qualify for the World Cup, although it is easier now, it still won't be a walk in the park like it is now. You will have to sweat for it and may miss out on some, but you will see how your team's collective level increases. Now you will play against Uruguay and see the true strength of a South American team. It is the first match in years where you will face a rival of that level, and the most curious thing is that if your entire starting lineup were Uruguayan, they would play in their national team because they play in good teams. In short, although Uruguay has good players, in terms of player quality, there isn't much difference. The difference is that one team is from South America and plays these kinds of matches with their eyes closed, laughing because they are used to it. And that's considering they are already qualified; if they were playing a match with hunger, it would be another story. But they will still go all out because South American teams hate losing.

Let's not forget that Panama had over 74% ball possession. I mean, look at any "better on paper" team vs a weaker one, when the better team gets a red card it turns to a 50-50% ball possession game and they still have more shots etc and are still the "dominating" team. Here it was the complete opposite. That being said, it happens. Zidane got a red in the final of a world cup for a stupid move, happens to the best at all stages.

Greg's decision-making shows a clear lack of strategic foresight. Bolstering the defense instead of introducing more attacking players signaled to Panama that our offense was minimal, letting them attack without fear. Removing Gio (who he's handcuffed to the backline too often) will be Greg's final nail in the coffin. His repetitive, silly decisions and lack of creativity plague this team. It's a tragic yet poetic downfall. We need a coach respected by the players, not just "liked" by them!

Weah stupidly changed the entire course of the game and the tournament for the US. The US team knew going in that Panama would use hard fouls and lots of them to throw the US off rhythm and get under their skin. Their wildest dreams couldn't have predicted Weah's bone headed red card. THEN: While Berhalter did the right thing to shift to a low block - though mixing that with a mid block might have worked better - but his substitutions were awful. Carter Vickers? And not Musah? Musah is gifted in maneuvering in tight spaces, but not until it was too late. Pepi for Balogun? Maybe in another 15-20 minutes but not while Balogun was still hot. Cardoso for Reyna? Maybe in another 10-15 minutes. Both Balogun and Reyna were still in it. The Turner injury was unfortunate and not foreseeable. But both GKs had their chances. Yeah, they were on the edge but both goals could have been saved. Horvath got BOTH hands on that goal but couldn't redirect it enough to keep it out of the net? Of course not - he was falling backward for no apparent reason. This all started with Weah's insane moment but other than Pulisic and Robinson, the rest of the team and the coach weren't even close. The players on the bench could have made a difference. The US should have won even a man down, even with Panama fouling with everything but baseball bats. A true embarrassment.

The lady on the panel is inexcusable for giving excuses for violence and gaslighting it. Shame on her. She's morally confused.

Well, she is a player still, I think she did not want to go that hard on a fellow footballer. Keller was more upset, but he is one of US football legends, he has I think a much higher expectation from the new generation.

Berhalter must have something on a lot of decisions makers in US soccer to still be hanging around and cement the continuing regression of our team.

Weah really let his county down here.
Do you think he would behave like that at Juventus under Allegri? Once again, berhalter’s “Dogs” have managed to pull an embarrassing result in an easily winnable game.

Uruquay already had 6 pts sitting at the top of this group. They dont have to go all out in their last game to rest their players. But they will win 2-0 and the USA will be going home.

Weah and his red card, and Turner and his injury didn't help their chances, but the fact still remains that we have a better team than they do and not getting at least a draw is sub-par at best, and pathetic at worst.

Team USA doesn't know how to play with 10 men. Teams do it all the time. They kept retreating all day long. Extremely Poor coaching!

Thought the back three helped initially, as it helped us stop the crosses. US looked really naive ahortly after the red card going for it instead of chilling out and getting solid back there

A good team with desire and preparation can still beat an inferior team a man down. As a player, I always enjoyed the challenge and many of the teams I've been a part of played better with a man down. A new coach and a new culture ASAP!
