Absolutely not. You are innocent in your ignorance. Read sahih muslim 2662c
Allah created babies destined for hell. While still in daddy's loins. So innocent babies, that die early, run the risk of going to hell. Only a sick mind would write stuff like that.

@georgekustner There are some other meanings of this narration from sahih Muslim. It is called "luh mahfuz". You should see Muslims scholar to understand this.
You must understand that there are stories behind what you read in the Quran and Hadith. Even myself, as a Muslim needs to learn further.

Dr Sabeel, just a humble suggestion. Adding to why people commit sin, maybe next time you should inform our Christian brothers and sisters is that when Iblis was punished for not doing sujud to Adam, he swore that he will whisper to the offspring of Adam a.s. to follow their desires. That's why everybody has bad thoughts in their mind (not their fitrah to do bad), either we follow whisper from Iblis or we hold firm to the straight path.

To add to something that Dr. Sabeel said, if a person is sincere in his repentance, then God guides him to good...its why Muslims always ask for Tawfeeq (Guidance) from God to do good! So, what the Christian lady (the second one) was saying about asking God for strength to do good is very similar to the Islamic concept of Tawfeeq. Another point to add is that God looks at the intention of the heart (the sincerity or Niyah)...if you sincerely intend to do good, but fail, God still forgives...but He wants you to keep trying and yes, sometimes you will fail again, and again...but never give up and never lose faith that God will help you overcome and will forgive you!

...and if you get hit by a bus before your 4th try, oh well, I guess you go to hell.
I would much rather focus on praising and worshiping GOD, my Lord and my Savior, than on worrying about whether I'm going to hell because I'm weak.
I am saved and I am a child of Almighty GOD Who gives me strength and endurance to avoid sin. So when I sin I repent immediately because I sincerely love GOD.

    • @TeeMee-g6s
      @TeeMee-g6s Month ago

@rhoda-x1j I think you got some of it wrong ma'am. But I do agree that having mindfulness, repentance and ultimately redemption is extremely important because God wants every human being to turn to Him, to seek forgiveness, to trust 💯 percent in Him. So whether a person goes to hell or paradise depends totally on the mercy of God and whether your good deeds outweigh your bad deeds on the scale. On the DOJ each person will be shown what he/she has done on this planet, every single thing has been recorded until the day you die. Hence why we say that a human being comes into this world with nothing and will exit this world with nothing, but his deeds on this planet, muslims are taught to try and not get attached to this duniya/this world/this life and materialism because that won't save him/her on the DOJ. Each soul will be punished or rewarded for what he/she has done.

Assalamu Alaikum! Thank you for your amazing work with these Events!
I think what would have been interesting for this young woman, would be how Islam views the heart and what the Quran, so God and or the hadiths say about the heart. If she somehow watches this video and the comments:
I am a revert and what I learned so far about the heart is, that we are born with a pure and clean heart, and when we are old enough in understanding right from wrong(puberty) our heart gets tainted with small black dots.
It is in our interest and our responsibility to clean our heart from these black dots with repentance and all these 5 steps Dr. Sabeel talks about. Of course we will hope and pray for the mercy and guidance and acceptance of our repentance by god and if he wills (inshallah) he will clean our hearts of these black dots!
There is a beautiful narration of the Prophet Mohammad (saw) were an angel came and cleaned his heart because god commanded him to!
The Quran addresses the heart in the most beautiful ways!
Hope this helped and may God (Al Hadi - the one who guides) guide you all to be good and hopeful!
Because in the Quran god tells us who he is and what he loves to do!

It's important to note that for the young lady that asked about addictions and how Islam addresses it. The doctor could have added in his lecture that the religion Islam teaches about discipline and self control and mindfulness about doing things that displeases The Almighty, that is a major part of it's teaching, eg during Ramadan etc. If a person has an addiction eg to porn for instance, one has to learn to curb and control that addiction or desire of it like other addictions, that alone is a test in itself learning to control your free will. The greatest burden on mankind is having free will.

  • @onlyhousestarklivesmatter

In addition to what he said, I would like to point out that it took Islam 20 years to implement. Nobody expects that you stop addiction once and for all, Allah knows all humans commit sins knowingly and even unknowingly too, but Islam looks at the intention and the commitment, Islam believes in trying again and again and again, taking each day on its own. Developing discipline and consistency is what makes it rewarding because you go back to Allah and back to him again. So nobody is perfect, but with repeatedly trying you can make the change. So yes, dr sabeel is not a psychologist so I can understand that he didn’t exactly answer what she was asking about. Still, he did his best with his answers and I respect that of course, May Allah reward him for his sincere efforts (Ameen).

I think human is both obedient and rebellious, they can be assigned tasks and think of alternatives (either for better or worse), they can create conflicts but also compromises.
Neither obedient is good nor rebellious is evil.
The lesson we can take from the apple is that if you leave an apple on a table, sooner or later your family will take them, even if you told them not to. This is what human is.

I think maybe the 2nd question refer to how and what muslim actually pray/say/request to God. She also addressed that there will be chance that people will relapsed to do the same sin again thus they asked for new heart to start over. In my humble opinion, we also can said that sin is like a black dot and good deeds can erase. Somehow we also can state that only Allah can justify our effort. But always include in our pray that Allah grant us the good ending not the bad one.

    • @BoodyAnto
      @BoodyAnto Month ago

what makes me wonder is when someone's given a new heart, does he or she really do no more sin, and as what she's said about a new heart as solution for the problem or repeated sin, the outcome seems to be random in reality. some managed to overcome, some remain struggling, while some others failed remain unchanged

    • @BoodyAnto
      @BoodyAnto Month ago

and if for instance she replied me (using another reference) and said that a new heart will erase any sins from past, present and future means sin doesn't matter anymore as long as you believe in god. you know what? you may do anything bad it's okay because you'll be forgiven as long as you believe in god. no accountability whatsoever just die and go to heaven. judgement day is only for those disbelievers. how easy it is yet ridiculous 😂

Dr Sabeel, you could answer the first question in a better way, since you answered not the question she actually asked.
In my opinion, the best answer would be:
    1. Every human being is born sinless, but God has already put into him or her a capacity for both doing good and doing evil in order to test him or her.
    2. God created devils from jinns who are also living on Earth and are enemies of mankind. They could inspire human beings without being noticed.

Actually, what the girl said " to prove her belief " was wrong, not all people who do the said steps to stop a bad habit return to it, many gad succeeded, also not all those who " asked" for a change if heart get it, it deoends on the sincerity of the person. Also , the steps a muslim takes to gain forgiveness are already stemming from a good heart, a bad heart will not care if a sin is committed. But good hearts are not always enough to prevent a person from slipping, hence the repentance is there to clean the heart , and the knowledge that Allah is all forgiving and accepts repentance allow us to go back to Him again and again and again instead of despairing and just continue sinning, or believing that our sins would be carried by someone else and also continue sinning, because why not?

I think Dr Sabeel does a wonderful job but in the second lady's case he didn't actually answer the question appropriately. Sure, Islam does propagate a wholesome society, but that doesn't mean there will still be people who end up being addicted to one bad habbit or another. So the crux is, God will forgive as many times as you ask for repentance, provided that you are sincere in your intention. No.2 if you are addicted to something, a sincere effort to rid yourself of that addiction will not only make things easier for you physically but also spiritually. And it would no doubt count as a positive in the eyes of God.

Allah's Messenger, there is happiness for this child who is a bird from the birds of Paradise for it committed no sin nor has he reached the age when one can commit sin. He said: 'A'isha, per adventure, it may be otherwise, because Allah created for Paradise those who are fit for it while they were yet in their father's loins and created for Hell those who are to go to Hell. He created them for Hell while they were yet in their father's loins. (Sahih Muslim 2662c)
    Narrated Anas bin Malik:
The Prophet ﷺ said, "At every womb Allah appoints an angel who says, 'O Lord! A drop of semen, O Lord! A clot. O Lord! A little lump of flesh." Then if Allah wishes (to complete) its creation, the angel asks, (O Lord!) Will it be a male or female, a wretched or a blessed, and how much will his provision be? And what will his age be?' So all that is written while the child is still in the mother's womb." (Sahih Bukhari 318)

It is the framework that Islam gives for eg I find these 2 things to break evil cycle. 1. Do ramadan fasting for 30 days. This is not just abstinence from food but also evil deeds as it breaks bad habits. 2. Pray 5 times a day so keep us away from falling back to evil and seek guidance.

You should have demonstrate that Islam resonate with innate goodness (fitrah) built in us with the example of the baby. Simply ask them which resonate more with us "a baby born sinless vs a baby born with original sin"? We all probably can tell the answer. Hence our innate goodness resonates more with Islamic teaching/concept and can recognize the truth built in all of us.

      @TeeMee-g6s Month ago

Yes, there were other entities on earth prior to Adam and Hawa, these were jinns. They used to cause a lot of bloodshed and wars amongst themselves and thats what the angels were referring to when God presented Adam to them. Nevertheless they did obey and prostrated as they were ordered to do so, except Ibliss the jinn. He was a very faithful servant of The Almighty that worshipped God dutifully and was the only jinn that was given a place in paradise and also immense power, like the angels, and maybe even more, who knows. I guess that is why he was and still is able to influence mankind as Shaitan on earth when he was cast out, and also he made a promise to God in relation to that which I'm sure you know.
There were different types of humans on the planet, scientific evidence shows that, since the continents were all joined together at one time or another, I think it was called Pangea or what not. I believe diff humans must have been created when it was split apart, who knows eg homo neanderthals who primarily lived in scandanavia, pigmies primarily lived in certain parts Africa etc etc. As far as I know the first homo sapiens were discovered in Africa, therefore Adam's descendants were most likely black folks.

@georgekustner3440 May I ask what is your evidence of this, that it's 'down to genetics'? Are you a psychiatrist or a psychologist? You are speaking as if mental illness in its entirety depends on genetics alone and therefore the patient has no choice but to accept and surrender to his/her condition completely, as opposed to being proactive. Yes, whilst genetics can be one factor, you're not taking into account nature, as well as nurture is one of the factors associated with mental illness as well as choices individuals themselves make. Some types of mental illnesses cannot be overcome, such as schizophrenia, manic depression etc, because those can be genetically related, however some can, if the individual has the strength, awareness, desire, ability etc to want to overcome it, eg patients with anorexia , bulimia, addictions, OCDs and so on. My humble advice to you is think before speaking sir.
In terms of your disrespectful comments 'muslims are so uneducated', again you are speaking from a place of pride, ego and arrogance, jealousy, impatience, lack of understanding, empathy and intellect. Muslims are not your enemies. We all, people of faith, are trying to be and do the best we can to cleanse our souls and to be better human beings on the planet by following the teachings of our faiths. We all have one destination that we're walking towards, our Creator, let's not forget that. Have a nice day. 👍

The concept of original sin comes from Paul who came after Jesus. Jesus didn’t teach anything about original sin. All Jesus preached was repentance and doing what is pleasing to God. The Hebrew Bible doesn’t teach original sin concept either. No one taught that humans are born sinners and depraved besides Paul the fraud. He was the innovator of that idea.

@Angelo-z7v David was not born in sin. Are you saying when god said be fruitful and multiply he was telling them to sin and multiply? Make it make sense. I’m not Jewish or a rabbi but the verse could be a hyperbole not window into a twisted doctrine about some inhered sin which Adam and Eve committed by eating some fruit. Nowhere else this subject is mentioned in the Hebrew Bible. That is why Judaism rejects the concept of inherited original sin.
Also we Muslims don’t believe everything in the bible because the Quran is the criteria for judging what is true and what is false. David was a prophet of God and I don’t believe for a second that he committed adultery and that he had Uriah unalived. They are all made up stories. David was a righteous man not some gangster.

@BilMad-b9p It’s a horrible sin for me then, say, to swear not eat beets for one reason or another? It’s a gentle correction in a private matter from God to his beloved prophet.
I think you would do better to cite for example 80:1-10 or 9:80 and 9:43.

Jesus himself said that he is nothing without God, that he is a being like any other, that he can do nothing on his own, and that it is God who acts through him, as with the prophets before him, to perform miracles. But misguided idolaters continue to attribute divinity to him, which he himself will reject upon his return...
    John 5:19
Jesus answered them, "Truly, truly, I say to you, the Son can do nothing of himself, but only what he sees the Father doing. For whatever the Father does, that the Son does likewise.
    John 8:28,42
Jesus said to them, "When you have lifted up the Son of Man, then you will know that I am he, and that I do nothing on my own, but I speak as the Father taught me."...
    John 14:10
Do you not believe that I am in the Father and the Father is in me? The words that I speak to you I do not speak on my own authority, but the Father who dwells in me does his works.
    John 5:30
I can do nothing on my own. As I hear, I judge, and my judgment is just, because I seek not my own will but the will of him who sent me.
    Matthew 7:21-23
Not everyone who says to me, 'Lord, Lord,' will enter the kingdom of heaven, but only the one who does the will of my Father in heaven.
Many will say to me on that day, 'Lord, Lord, did we not prophesy in your name? Did we not drive out demons in your name? Did we not perform many miracles in your name?'
Then I will tell them plainly, 'I never knew you. Away from me, you evildoers!'"

Evidence from history and ancient manuscripts supporting the non-crucifixion of Jesus (peace and blessings be upon him)
      Introduction
It has become customary among Christians to assert that "the crucifixion of Jesus is a truth proven by historical facts." However, these "historical facts" are the accounts found in the New Testament.
Let us be clear: the biblical accounts of the crucifixion have no historical value, for several reasons:
On the one hand, they are accounts of people testifying to their faith, not of people with objective hindsight reporting the story.
None of these authors were eyewitnesses to the crucifixion.
The choice of books to appear in the Bible was made under the orders of the Roman pagan-Christian Church, and the latter's choice was dictated by its beliefs and not by an examination of the chain of transmission and the authenticity of the accounts, as the Muslims did for the words (hadiths) of the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) (moreover, there is no authentic chain of transmission from Jesus to the 4th century, when the first complete manuscript of the Bible dates from).
In his book "The Nazarene, or, The Christianity of the Jews, Gentiles, and Mohammedans," John Toland states the following (page 32, chapter 6):
"One cannot help but cry out against the ignorance of those who imagine that this story of Jesus' death is originally the invention of the Mohammedans. The Basilidians at the beginning of Christianity denied that Jesus Christ had suffered death himself: they said that Simon of Cyrene had been crucified in his place. The Carpocratians who followed them, not to mention others who believed that Jesus Christ was only an ordinary man, likewise believed that he had not been crucified, but rather one of his disciples who resembled him."
      He continues:
"In ecclesiastical history, Epiphanius tells us that he read a book entitled "The Journey of the Apostles" containing the acts of Peter, John, Andrew, Thomas, and Paul, which among other things reads as follows: "THAT Christ was never crucified, but another in his place, that by this means he mocked those who imagined they had crucified him": some have suggested that it was Judas who was crucified in his place. This circumstance, that Jesus Christ mocked the Jews, is also affirmed by the Basilidians, as can be seen in the passage I have just quoted from Epiphanius."
To date, the latest archaeological finds, notably the manuscripts found at Nag Hammadi, have proven that a large number of early Christians did not believe in the crucifixion of Jesus Christ and held the same belief as that affirmed by the Quran: "THAT IT WAS A PRETENSE." These manuscripts are a remarkably representative collection of the earliest Christian literature and have not been altered since the date of their writing.

The original sin is the disconnect from God at birth, so that sin has an opening to enter. Original sin, in it self does not mean sinful.
      From the Islam perspective read
      Sahih muslim 2662c
Babies still in daddy's loins were created for hell.
Allah punishes sinless babies, that die young.
What caused original sin?...Knowledge of good and evil . The self awareness leading to pride and selfishness.
The word Adam comes from the hebrew word adama, meaning soil. So the narrative is, that Adam ate from the tree of knowledge, that was forbidden. The consequence was lost innocence. So now you know, where the name Adam came from in the quran.

"Allah's Messenger, there is happiness for this child who is a bird from the birds of Paradise for it committed no sin nor has he reached the age when one can commit sin. He said: 'A'isha, per adventure, it may be otherwise, because God created for Paradise those who are fit for it while they were yet in their father's loins and created for Hell those who are to go to Hell. He created them for Hell while they were yet in their father's loins."
