Failure to do so will not only destroy their party but will do immeasurable damage to the country. If Starmer has the sense to accept that the reason he had a sizeable majority was because the electorate were so fed up with the useless, complacent, incompetent Conservatives and not because of his wonderful policies ( which they kept hidden) he may have some chance to redeem himself. In fairness to him he is faced with dealing with the mess that 14 years of Tory incompetence has brought about. We've had relatively low taxes, huge immigration ( keeping wages down and profits up) and now we have a housing shortage, immense pressure on our infrastructure especially NHS, schools, Police and legal system. To cap it all Starmer wants to 'set an example to the world' by giving away tax payers money to third world countries. He needs to focus on the needs and requirements of the indigenous UK citizenry and not the problems of 'refugees, 'asylum seekers', economic migrants who 'want a better life' ( don't we all?) and the third world in general.
