What a track, never gets old...ever. Came here after listening to them on Streetsounds Radio and just had to listen to this track again, got it on Vinyl somewhere.
I love the start with the synthesizer, when I first heard this tune on Electro 11.....man was I amazed. Very, very, very original. It's a shame how you will neeever hear these tunes on the radio, not even the so-called black pirate radio stations, It's like society has once again pushed the real hip-hop and these great Electro hits to one side and hidden them.
Those Street Sounds Elsectro comps not ony changed my life but completely shaped it. After 30+ as a professional in the industry, spanning all kins of genres from afro house to banging tribal & melodic techno, drum'n'bass, dancehall/ dub, [proper] trap/ drone & noise.... I always go back to those synths, those beats, ad yes please the vocoders. Lollol. Best genre all time. Something haunting about it i find. Wicked
Paving the way for 1986, where hip-hop took the next evolutionary step with artists like BDP, Eric B &Rakim, and PE, kicking off the 'golden era' of hip-hop...
You already know. I came here just to hear those scratches that were so futuristic and ahead of the time that Prince Paul did. And I wanted to give the podcast a shout out in the comment section of one of these songs so respect to you my friend

True pioneers of hip hop, nobody did it like Stet and nobody sounded like Stet, legendary band.
Junior year of HS. I wore out a lot of batteries listening to this group.
I saw them live in concert in 1988 with LL Cool J, Dougie Fresh, Public Enemy and Whodini.
