It is kinda scary to have sex, vanilla or not, in today's environment, famous or not. Of course all sex should be 100% consensual but stopping every few minutes to go "are you still OK with this" kind of kills the mood. I think we need communications during sex, like the "yeah, tight there" or the "no, not there" or even "stop" but having to keep checking to see if they are still giving consent is a bit silly. That should be on the other person to just say "stop, I am no longer comfortable with this", just as it is on the other person to stop immediately.

Cancel culture has more to do with tearing someone down than what they actually did. People have so much time on their hands to just be angry about everything. It just goes back to wanting everyone around you to be perfect in every way but ALSO expecting those same people to be accepting of all your imperfections.

Sadly, so many women do not do that that is now effects male/female relationships. For example, men are staying away from women at work as much as possible.

They never wanted to give consent.
They gave it because they were afraid of the ramifications.
He didn’t get in trouble for having a fetish, which is how he is spinning it, or for “being creepy” as you are spinning it.
He got in trouble for the sexual harassment of vulnerable people over which he had power within their shared industry. Go look up the definition if you’re confused.
He did it with Sarah Silverman who was NOT in a position of vulnerability to him and who didn’t have a problem with it and he didn’t get in trouble for that.
The most disappointing thing about it is he has refused to accept that he did the wrong thing. He just hides behind the fetish aspect of it and making himself the victim thereby. After so many years of calling people and society out on the shitty things they do, he didn’t and still doesn’t have the fortitude to take an honest look at what he did and accept it was wrong and apologise for it. He doesn’t have the guts to hold himself to the same moral standard he held others to for many years.
Do what brings you happiness but don’t hurt others was a central theme in his work.
Well he let his desires drive him to do things that directly hurt others.
Fucken apologise. To them fir what he put them through and to us for believing in him, betraying that belief, that HE cultivated, and then being a shitty, weak, asshole about it.

And they decided this in hindsight? Come on... that is so weak. 'Spinning it' as a venerable person being harassed is really pathetic. The man has no history of abuse, no history of violence, he hardly looks like an intimidating man to prevent someone from saying 'stop' and or walking away! Total bull sit. A total nobody wanted to become a somebody by being an 'abused' victim to seek the worlds sympathy, and it would be just too rude to turn down the cash for the story of course. Go to Gaza, I am sure they will totally understand the trauma and want to know your way of overcoming this life changing moment.

He did EXACTLY what you’re supposed to do in those situations. So personally I don’t think he should have to go around apologizing. Regrets are not assault and I think it’s very important to not get the two mixed up- ever. These women obviously had some regrets once they saw their careers were going nowhere. Louis did what he was supposed to do. He asked. They said yes. It wasn’t like they said no and he blocked the door ffs. I have regrets of my own … but I’m not going to say I was assaulted… I agreed ffs. It’s almost like they were alllll good with it when things were going well for them.. but the minute something goes wrong in their careers… we get those stories.

I honestly don’t think he did anything wrong lol. Maybe it’s a bit weird, but a lot of people enjoy weird things. My understanding is he asked adult women if he could masturbate in front of them and if they said yes then he did. If asking for consent and acting accordingly isn’t enough I think that’s a dangerous position for society, and if the court found him not guilty I don’t think people and companies should be trying to band against him. My issue with the whole “canceling” of people is I don’t believe they’re as righteous as they say, they just like feeling like they have power because otherwise they’re just some random nobody cares about

So exactly where does the "creepy and they felt uncomfortable" part come in?
Creepy because its not stuff that people normally talk about doing?
So is it that he was asking women that he was not in a relationship with? Is that what makes it creepy? And does the fact that they said ok not make it NOT creepy? To me, if he whips it out without asking then...Creepy. If he asks and they say YES, then consenting adult encounter.

He did nothing wrong, and its not creepy if everyone consents to it... creepy is jerking of in font of someone who says they don't want to, or stalking someone, or doing anything sexual or flirting when someone clearly isn't reciprocating... Sarah Silverman, who was in the room at the time, said it was hilarious and stuck up for Louis. Louis sold out Maddison Square Garden multiple times in 2023... and I got to see him live in the flesh in Glasgow, Scotland in october 2022. I had a headache for 48 hours after it and I'll never forget it.
Tying your husband or boyfriend or girlfriend or wife to the bed in furry handcuffs and a ball gag can be considered "creepy", and some men do stuff like that just to make their partner happy, to keep the spark in their relationship, they say yes even when they don't want to do it, and nobody is calling them brave victims.
If you don't take back your consent, then you've consented. No ifs and or buts, and the moment you take that consent back, and that person doesn't stop, you need to call the police or get out of there because that person is a sexual predator.

I firstly think he got shafted but what really bothered me was how his friends and even his longtime agent just dropped him. For me I

It is just amazing how very few people actually stood by him.

Here's my question: Who gives consent for something like that then changes their mind at some point after it starts? If someone asked me if they could "relax" themselves in front of me I have a very solid opinion ready at all times. I don't even need to think about it. It's not like he started going at it and suddenly the other person was like, "Whoa! I thought you meant you wanted to take out a steak and tenderize it in front of me!" What a weird thing to be all wishy-washy about.

Well yeh, some women will get into bed with a guy, say she likes it rough, then the guy starts filleting her and she realises her mistake and asks him to stop.... he then stops and asks what's wrong, she either tells him or doesn't and leaves... or... the guy ignores her and it becomes rape.
In Louis' case, nobody took back their consent once, they all agreed to it, instead of just saying "I don't consent to this" half way through and allowing him time to stop, or simply them just leaving the room.

Is forced consent, actually consent? Female journalists were given a choice - consent to watch him jerk off before the interview, or not get the interview. If those women had any worries about job security (which is horrible in that industry) they would *have* to give consent out of fear they might lose their job if they went back to their boss without the interview. Male journalists were not put in the same situation. To be successful the women had to tolerate disgusting behavior that their male co-workers did not. So their situations are clearly not equal, and no real feminist would defend that. I really love his comedy, but what those women (and only women) had to tolerate was disgusting.

1 - The victims didn’t ‘cancel’ him… the companies that employed him did as they didn’t want to be associated with him.
2 - Even though these women had said okay when he asked if they would mind… there was a power imbalance in action. Louis being one of the most famous and influential comedians and producers in the industry. The women involved may have felt if they said yes he would/could help their career. Like the Weinstein victims knew if they said no to his advances he would make sure they never got their big break.

Beating off in front of a woman is the same as beating a woman.
If a man does it: haneous incident, put this man in chains and denounce him.
Other way around: everybody is laughing and having a good time. Well, maybe except one guy,...
