Climate models and predictions have repeatedly failed, but the dogma continues to being adhered to regardless of repeated failures. Now the newest dogma is that "in 12 years it's all over". This sows panic at the hen house without having scientific basis. CO2 is one component of changing climate. A very minute one. (It is also the most important gas for the survival of all life, more important than oxygen, and it is ironic that CO2 has become so politicized as to perversely call it a "pollutant"). Human contribution to CO2 is a fraction of that minute component. You could kill every human being on the planet and it wouldn't make one bit of difference. You could also tax and spend yourself into bankruptcy, and it won't make a difference. The main causes of warming are sun activity and water vapour, not CO2. Despite rising CO2 there was a pause in warming that lasted a decade. There certainly is no observable warming where I am living, quite the opposite. It was just announced that the first snow is expected within a week. It's still August. The previous winter started in September and ended in May, a full month sooner and later than normal. Deforestation and agricultural practices like plowing and tilling are changing micro and macro climates, and this is being ignored. Instead everyone focuses on CO2, because that is where the grant money is. In short, Greta is either driven by the irrational fear the agenda is drilling into people's heads, or she has been groomed for the task on purposes, to be a 'spokesperson' (though not with a scientific basis), but in either case she is spreading falsehood, because there is no such thing as a single factor in changing climate, and CO2 is one of the most irrelevant ones, but the one factor whereby our entire existence can be threatened through destructive policy (not CO2).

There is a reason renewable energy is getting such a big push, and the reason is that hard scientific evidence proved that people WERE in fact destroying the planet. You don't put billions of dollars of research into solar power research if your coal plants are not harming the planet and can continue forever. Polar ice caps melting, record heatwaves in Europe, average global temperatures steadily increasing since 1980, all these are hard facts and not some child's fantasy. She even lives in a society that takes care of her when she doesn't work. But the rest of us can't just stop living tomorrow, it's a first world problem. Most people in the world struggle to survive, get food, get water, work to pay the bills etc. should they care about climate? And if everyone lived like Greta from tomorrow, millions of people also in Europe, would lose their jobs and income, the states would lose taxes etc. etc. everything would collapse. The energy consumption in the world is increasing and it cannot be replaced with renewables like wind and solar - it has simple natural limitations like no wind no power etc. and that is not an option. You say raping the forrests, how about burning forrests? That's actually what some people call renewable energy as a backup for wind and solar. I think it is crazy. If you stop consuming stuff like palm oil you need to give the people who make palm oil and traps trees something else to live from. Climate models and predictions have repeatedly failed, but the dogma continues to being adhered to regardless of repeated failures. Now the newest dogma is that "in 12 years it's all over". This sows panic at the hen house without having scientific basis. CO2 is one component of changing climate. A very minute one. (It is also the most important gas for the survival of all life, more important than oxygen, and it is ironic that CO2 has become so politicized as to perversely call it a "pollutant"). Human contribution to CO2 is a fraction of that minute component. You could kill every human being on the planet and it wouldn't make one bit of difference. You could also tax and spend yourself into bankruptcy, and it won't make a difference. The main causes of warming are sun activity and water vapour, not CO2. Despite rising CO2 there was a pause in warming that lasted a decade. There certainly is no observable warming where I am living, quite the opposite. It was just announced that the first snow is expected within a week. It's still August. The previous winter started in September and ended in May, a full month sooner and later than normal. Deforestation and agricultural practices like plowing and tilling are changing micro and macro climates, and this is being ignored. Instead everyone focuses on CO2, because that is where the grant money is. In short, Greta is either driven by the irrational fear the agenda is drilling into people's heads, or she has been groomed for the task on purposes, to be a 'spokesperson' (though not with a scientific basis), but in either case she is spreading falsehood, because there is no such thing as a single factor in changing climate, and CO2 is one of the most irrelevant ones, but the one factor whereby our entire existence can be threatened through destructive policy (not CO2).

OK, got the message. Now tell us what you want to do or want the politicians to do that is feasible. I haven't heard any climate activist come up with real solutions just nonsense. The politicians have to take care of the whole society not just climate change. It's easy for Greta to speak about climate, she has everything, food, clean water, clothes and an electric car - champagne climate activist. She even lives in a society that takes care of her when she doesn't work. But the rest of us can't just stop living tomorrow, it's a first world problem. Most people in the world struggle to survive, get food, get water, work to pay the bills etc. should they care about climate? And if everyone lived like Greta from tomorrow, millions of people also in Europe, would lose their jobs and income, the states would lose taxes etc. etc. everything would collapse. So it is not as easy to be a politician as all the climate activist wants us to believe. And get real, renewable energy can not fix the problem! UK alone will need around 130.000 windmills or x5 the current number of nuclear plants - in 10 years - to cover heating, transportation, electricity - does that sound realistic?

The energy consumption in the world is increasing and it cannot be replaced with renewables like wind and solar - it has simple natural limitations like no wind no power etc. and that is not an option.
You say raping the forrests, how about burning forrests? That's actually what some people call renewable energy as a backup for wind and solar. I think it is crazy.
If you stop consuming stuff like palm oil you need to give the people who make palm oil and traps trees something else to live from. Otherwise they can' t pay their bills, their childrens schools etc. You don't hurt the companies you hurt their poor workers and their families.

The technology is there, it has been for many years, the issue is political will. It's very simple so I can explain it very simply. Take the USA, the third largest country in the world in terms of people and land, the man in charge was lobbied by coal industry barons, who literally give him a list of environmental rollbacks they want to see in exchange for the money that gave his campaign. While power is concentrated like this nothing will be done, this is the issue. We have the technology right now to make our entire land transport industry renewable, it would be a significant cost, sure, but it pales into insignificance for the cost that is coming from flooding and drought etc
