Question. If I have 8 12v lights in a small cabin, one in a small kitchen, 4 on the main level, 3 upstairs and 1 in a tiny bathroom…how do I do the switches if I want each area to be able to have a switch. Also upstairs 3 I’d like them in a 3 way switch so I can turn off when I get upstairs or down. Do you have a video on this?

I have been searching fo a 12 volt 3-way switches to no avail. This example is what I've been looking for. In my case it"s for an outside Rigid diffused LED spot light . I want separate on - off switch locations. The light draws more power so , I believe I will run a relay before the switches , so the load burden isn't all going to the on - off switch. more research and double checking before I make this connection.

Excellent video. However you state the reason that the LEDs will not work in series is due to polarity sensitivity. However even in series the LEDs are connected the correct way round polarity wise. The real reason that they wont work in series is due to voltage. 2 LEDs connected in series to a 12V battery would only have a potential difference across them of 6V. If you connected 2 LEDs in series to a 24V battery they would work.

Great info on the video. Ive recently wired up a 2 way led circuit and when I switch the lights off they stay on at about 10% illumination. When I pull the power supply is when they full extinguish. I used two SPDT switches and have tried everything. My last port of call is to throw a resistor in to stop the residual current coming through the circuit somewhere.

@@avanaroundtheworld Hi. My sister helped install a simple on off switch near the slider door of my van so when I am outside coming in I can turn some puck lights on or off depending on another switch. In my kitchen area I have a switch with a dimmer. Whatever level that switch is on, say full bright, that is what the on/off switch by the door will be. If the dimmer is on it's lowest setting, then when I come in the door and use the switch by the door the light will turn on at it's lowest setting. I hope that makes sense. The whole set up drove us both crazy. A typical 3-way switch is not that hard but throw in a dimmer and it's a nightmare. Are you building out a van??
