Do you have any comparisons of the same models from show to show? The general averages are skewed as there are different target markets and brands between the shows and you only have 50% price data for the higher end and larger boats. You need a better control variable or this data is invalid.
We came down to the FLIBS on Sat, Sunday. I was pleasantly surprised that some of the manufactures were willing to sit down and give a decent amount of discounts to make some sales happen. Although some of the local dealers to my area don't necessarily agree to boat show pricing...
Do you have the prices of each boat from each boat show, Miami and Ft Lauderdale? With that information you can determine if prices have dropped and if so what that percentage drop is. And then you can calculate the average drop across your categories, 10-20’, 21-30’, 31-40, etc. If you have the data I can help you put it together.
great data! you should take a look (and share) what is the average discount coefficien on a boat at the show. Like 5% off..etc. vs 7% off now... that data shows the intent of a sellers. but thank you for all the great videos!
I appreciate the amount of effort you went through to get this info. How does it reflect individual markets across the country? Here in Central IL, I don't see many $300K boats. I see $100K bass boats (insane)...I bought a new Lund Tyee in 87 for $9K, boat, motor, trailer; that boat today is $40-50K; way more than I want to spend on a boat. I have a G3 I bought used after an EXTENSIVE search...good used boats are out there, but they're difficult to find. Most are abused...
Don't think it's as much of a "softening of the market" as it is end of season sales. I assume Feb 2025, prices will be the same or close to Feb 2024. I'll be waiting to see that.
Show only pricing is a total scam, logically makes no sense. Why would they go thru all the labor and expense to bring a boat to the show to give it to you cheaper? They must be hard to sell or old models, or dealer just thinks they can get you to pay more.
This is somewhat apples to oranges. Why don't you do it boat-by-boat and see what the total difference is? I assume you went boat-by-boat in MIBS like you did FLIBS.
@@WillieWalnutsI think govt should make negative equity trades illegal also. If your upside down on your auto boat camper etc loan then your not getting another loan. That would greatly drive down these insane prices.
New boats are for rich people. Your average family man is not buying 100,000 dollar boats. Plus only a rich person would be foolish enough to buy a new boat. They can afford to lose 20,000 dollars the minute the boat leaves the lot. It's worse than buying a new car.
I mean... You could say the same about cars/trucks. Plenty of ppl still buy. As long as you're not planning on selling it for years, buying new is pretty normal and makes sense with the warranties you get.
I wouldn’t say buying new foolish. Most bang for your buck is always going to be to buy used. Example: If for $50k I can buy a NEW reasonably equipped 22’ bay boat with a 150HP or I could spend that $50k on a 20 year old 30’ center with quad 300hp motors. Idk about you, but I’d rather spend my $50k on the NEW 22’ bay boat.
Also “losing 20k the moment it leaves the lot” isn’t true with all boats. I bought my boat right before covid for $48k, i could sell it for that now 4 years later, with 1000 hours on the motor. Thats because the price of boats went way up.

Near me in South Texas they are selling 20 something ft flats boats for $100-150,00. It's insane.
Yea, they trying to keep up with FLA for some reason? Shallow sport 24MoD v was 109k last year, now, its 130k...🤷♂️🤷♂️🤦🏻♂️🤦🏻♂️
You could have compared the total prices of the boats for the size categories that you created. That way a more clear picture will be shown.
Look at those prices . I guess i would have to wait to buy a slightly used boat in the near future
Repowering an old hull has never made more sense.
Never pay list. Especially for recreational equipment. Mark up on this stuff is outrageous. Don’t be a sucker. Make an offer and walk out.

That is a good metric that I did not look at, you are right!

Yeah, South Florida is a totally different market for sure
Well no wonder why people ask me if I want to sell my 19ft fishing boat that I modernized. I literally could not afford to buy a boat these days.

You looking at my future new-to-me boats in 20 years 😂
Right lol

Fake MSRP prices are then discounted. In what world is a 180 Pioneer $53k? The discount price is just what they sell for normally. Total scam.

Who is buying this 30 foot boats for 300,000 plus dollars. Insanity.
Apparently a LOT of people. That's why the market is stupid crazy. People keep buying them.
Everything is financed
@@markdimaio8396 I'm down for the government capping loans at 5 years. Watch how much that would drive down these insane prices.

❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
Not a single boat with a cabin? No walkarounds or cuddy cabins, everything is either CC or Dual Consoles. Dissapointing.
There were more cuddy cabins and walk arounds than we showed, we just weren't focused on those
Corporate greed, way overpriced, business is way down
