    2:13 Retro Fighters should design a Keyboard+Mouse controller for all consoles but it still plugs into their respective console controller ports. They would make FPS games very, very tolerable. If only such a thing existed. Hmmmmmmmmmmmmmm.............. 🤔

    Double-a batteries aren't an antiquated technology, Adam, and are actually superior to internalla installed batteries. The original Wavebird being the perfect example of why user replaceable batteries are a better fit for wireless controllers in general. I can still pop-in a set of disposable or rechargable double-a batteries into a Wavebird controller and get good battery life, in complete contrast to PS3 controllers just a single generation later. For someone who prefers physical media, the ability to keep retro wireless controllers alive and functional without having to open it up and replace an internal battery seems like a plus to me.

    • @BackupPanic07
      @BackupPanic07 Год назад

      @@AdamKoralikDamn, that sounds like a serious run of bad luck to me, as I've been using both single use and rechargeable double-a batteries since the OG Gameboy days and never had any of them explode on me. I guess I could've had a serious string of good luck that's lasted my entire 32 years on this earth when it comes to batteries, but that seems kinda doubtful. I do remove them if they're in a high-drain device (like controllers or handhelds) if I'm not going to use said device for an extended period, something most people don't do, if the amount of Gameboys I've seen with corroded battery contacts is any indication.

    Both seem as a great alternative for the Wavebird. I ordered the BattlerGC since most of the Gamecube games that I play relies more on the analogue stick, even the Dpad on that looks better than the tiny on the official GC controller

    I preordered both. The battler GC controller from what I remember was never meant to be made originally, just the blade GC. However they had a ton of criticism the GC community saying how the blade GC controller was too similar to a PlayStation controller to their liking so Retro Fighters then went back to the drawing board & made the battler GC.
    Can't wait for the retro store in my area to get them in. Getting both controllers. One is for traditional GC games & the other is for playing games on my GB player

    Nice video Adam!
    The BladeGC is my first Retro Fighters controller. For GBA games, as well as stuff like 2D GameCube games or collections, it's amazing. I did run into a weird quirk that kind of reminds me of your Metal Gear issue. In the Mega Man X Collection, I tried the first game, and my inputs kept getting dropped. No other game, not even the other games in the same collection, have had that issue. I'd hold down B and my character would release his charge shot when he felt like it. Kind of weird; never had that issue with a real Wavebird. The only other issue I have is with Mario Sunshine, you need to know when R is held down all the way, because Mario will stop and aim with the pump, but its much harder to get a feel with it without the click in the shoulder buttons. Like I said though, otherwise amazing.

    Is there like a list of games that doesn't work with the BattlerGC? So far, my experience has been good, but I decided to pop in Naruto Clash of Ninja Revolution 2, and the controller would go haywire, made the game unplayable. Thought it was the controller but I tested it with the first Naruto game and it worked fine, I even tested it with a GameCube game and it seems to only be with Clash of Ninja Revolution 2, maybe others. Idk if certain games had a piracy thing with fake controllers or something, so maybe the game is reading it as a non official controller or something? Playing on original hardware, not emulating.

    I am so happy that a new alternative to the Hori GameCube controller exists! I didn't know this version of the GC Retro Fighter controller even coming out, so thank you very much for this video Adam! My SP 101 was accidentally knocked over by a cousin, and some of it's shell/hinge cracked, so I've been playing GB/GBC on my GameCube with OG GBA as controller until I replace the shell. My og GBA's dpad is getting a little stiff, so pressing on it a bunch while playing Oracle of Ages (favorite Zelda game) on my GameCube a few weeks ago was painful. I didn't get far, before swapping to replaying Link's Awakening on Switch. Almost done with LA, so I'm going totally going to one of these from my local game store on Monday and hop back into Ages :D

    8:00 here's an idea for Retro Fighters: a GameCube controller or a 4-player multi-controller that has nothing but the Z button(s). What use could this possibly have? Well, you could use it when you power on the console just to conveniently hear the secret 1Z or even the 4Z boot-up sounds. That's it. That's literally the only use for this special controller

This happens cause the original's controllers had buttons instead of triggers, and so when you press it with the trigger it registers the press but since you keep pressing it so it goes all the way down and then let it go its not fast enough to do the quick change/unequip(I assume that you can choose to unequip weapons that way because the twin snakes was based on mgs2's mechanics and that had an option for it)
