A year later, I think the best thing about this cover is how obvious it is that everyone was having a lot of fun recording for it. You can hear it in their voices. Boss and Astel in particular sound like they're having the time of their lives.
For those not aware this song was made by a bunch of Japanese comedians during a time of economic and political turmoil in Japan which lead to wide spread depression and hardship. In response this song was made to lift the countries spirits and it reached number 6 on their charts due to the sincerity of the song.

Nah, I genuinely believe Gramps had a blast with this one. Yatta was responsible for one of many hilarious and widespread AMV shorts that made the rounds back in 360p RUclips, it was so fucking hilarious and unexpected it seared itself into my head the very first time I watched it.

Why is this the most happy wholesome and hope-inspiring song I've heard all month?
It was originally sung when Japan's suicide rates were at an all time high. Several comedians collaborated and made this song, iirc they donated the earnings to a good cause and the song was a massive hit, simultaneously lowering suicide rates and apparently being a sleeper hit in the west.
