I live in Mississippi. Just owning a still can get you arrested and jailed. It's legal in many states to distill alcohol for fuel or non-alcohol products. It is 100% illegal to distill ANY amount of liquor without a license and paying taxes. Federal law allows home production of beer and wine for personal consumption.The laws on beer and wine are not the same because they aren't produced the same way as liquor and the brewing is not nearly as dangerous. It's not hard to do a few minutes of reading and get your facts straight.

They have the expertise and the location, but they can't do it without you and they are asking you to risk a hell of a lot. 25% seems fair enough. In a real life situation, you would say ok, now I want a third and they would start with the you aren't going to get anything speel, that works both ways, settle for 25 and call it a day.

I live in TN on a 175 year old farm. I was talking to the grand-daughter of the couple who lived here. She said she was walking in the the hills on the farm when she was a teenager and came across her granddad's still (probably in the late '60's, early '70's). He told her her loved her more than anything, but if she ever said a word about the still, his partners would make sure it was her last. She didn't say anything until his funeral. Funny how the moonshiners are more romanticized than the meth cookers.
I've bought a couple jars of their liquor at the liquor store and I'm hoping some triple grain will pop up soon..I'm so tired of people saying it's not the same as what's made in the woods. I grew up around shiners and it's hard to drink until it's proofed cause my dumass tried it and I was drunk before I got started on it and they learnt me a lesson with it but I didn't have any complaints about it. They don’t go far from their homes. And they still get by with it. Either something in the ingredients isn’t real. And made seem like moonshine or hauling it. Or someone getting their pockets fat with Cash.
It's because they aren't creating any illegal liquor. They are all licensed to make it and just pretend to be doing it illegally for the sake of the show. They essentially could do what their doing in a building and it would be the same, they are just outside for drama.
