I think people underestimate how inspiring a space can be when it's aesthetic and just "feels" right. This setup looks amazing, and the B-roll is next level here! Really shows off your skill as a designer as well.
So recently i watched like 30 of those office setup videos and this is legit the first one to tell the viewer, that it doesn't need to be appealing to anyone but yourself
as falling down this rabbit hole of ultimate setups and such Ive redone my own office at least 20+ times this year alone just moving things around to get to what flows the best. My first setup after the pc build would have looked great for youtube, but didnt work so well to daily drive. Now its fairly plane Jane but very functional. My wife wants me to redo her office but I keep emphasizing that I will help and do all the work, but its her space so she needs to feel things out. Love the setup and function with form
i dont mean to be offtopic but does someone know a method to log back into an Instagram account? I was stupid lost my account password. I appreciate any assistance you can offer me
Best setup. This is the only setup in which there is natural light coming in. Otherwise, in all the other setups I haven't seen any natural light, infact, none of them are even near a window. In all those setups you have to keep lights on even daytime. But this one is really good. Natural light, fresh air from window. Excellent setup.
This is a great setup! Thanks for mentioning that the space should reflect you, lot of folks are missing this. You need to walk into your home office space and feel inspired!
Geez man this setup is so clean, never knew someone other than me in south Florida is actually interested in having a nice minimalistic setup and doing film making.
Sort of. For lighter weight stands I picked up a spring loaded broom rack off of Amazon and I drilled it into the wall. It holds my light stands and boom pole. I wouldn’t put a c-stand on it though. For larger/heavier stands I just keep them built out and in the corner of the studio (I’ve got a much larger space since this video).
As a freelance Cinematographer who is also a massive Marvel comics reader, I appreciate the personality to your space so much. All that matters is my camera gear, my editing workstation, my comic books and my Marvel statues haha. Great video and also subscribed!
@@joenicklo Haha I'm unsubscribing now you have said that. I'm also a big fan of Batman and Superman but mainly from watching the JL and JLU animated series. I want to get into DC comics series properly some day but at the same time it's like learning a new language, you know with Marvel especially years ago I remember it taking some time to understand the sagas and then when large comic events happened and it reboots the universes and numbering etc. Actually now I'm thinking about it I do have some DC titles like the Superman 'Earth One' and Batman 'Earth One' hardbacks which I thought were brilliant from a few years ago when it released as well as 'The Killing Joke' - Just gotta get on those actual comic book series.
@@CameronHall With soooo many reboots it all gets hard to follow. Love all comics though. DC, Marvel, Dynamite, Valiant, Image you name it. Around when the stoppage of comics started last year, I'm unfortunately not reading anything at the moment :( Will prob pick up some of the Red Sonja and X-O Manowar issues I've missed.
@@joenicklo Oh wow so you are into a lot of variety compared to sticking with Marvel and DC, that's interesting I bet there are some real high quality series out there for sure. Yeah that is the same for me at the moment too with not currently reading anything, it's been good to backtrack through what I do have though and flick through some of the issues I forgot I had. Very nostalgic haha. I'm also expecting you to be very happy about the new release of Zack Snyder's Justice League in a few days, I've heard it's supposed to be very good!
I am changing career paths and looking for ideas on setting up a home work space. I was digging this video right up until I saw the Munson card. You sir, are my new best friend. Munson was my first hero growing up, I played catcher, I became a pilot, love the Yanks, all because of the seeds planted so long ago. He needs to be in the Hall.
Surprised he's not in the HoF. I wasn't alive when he played but my father told me stories....and of course I watched the old World Series VHS tapes ;)
Absolutely loved this. It was so refreshing to see a setup that wasn't a copy paste rgb and actually had some real personality to it. It has definitely boosted my room set up to be based around what I love, no matter how unusual that might be. Thank you.
Love the honesty in this vid. Can’t put my thumb on exactly what that is, but it’s there. I think it was the comment about making your workspace your own, to reflect who you are, that got me. Subscribed, and cheers mate.
One of the best home office set up I have ever seen on RUclips, firstly I love that brick wall. , and the way you presented the details. From the walls to the desk , simply superb !
I saw many videos on this series. This is THE BEST, Too classy ❤ The way you showcasing your room, it's something ❤ I do respect all of the others also. They also do their best. ❤
I appreciate how refreshingly down-to-earth the setup and items featured are in this video. Considering your profession, I was expecting something so over the top and I am pleasantly surprised. Thank you for sharing your productivity setup at home!
Wow, man! Congrats! I'm a mech engineer who also finally went on a journey of filmmaking, so I'm running a tech youtube channel with pc hardware and review stuff, im investing a lot on quality this week just received my new Canon R6 and also migrated to davinci! Loved to see you space, gear and all! 🤘⚡
I was searching youtube for some gear storage inspiration and came across your channel. Your work bench is very cool! I have a similar shelf kicking around was begging for a purpose. Thanks!
Damn, this is a crispy setup video. I love the color palette. Everything is purposeful but still personal. I like how you didn't skip over the analog stuff like the planner. Makes the vid more than just XYZ tech showcase. And that ending note... so true. Knocked it out of the park.
I love this. I'm thinking of having a brick wallpaper up and a frame with a New York map in it among other things. Does your 1-ON-1 COACHING SESSION cover how to film for a RUclips channel and what not? I'm thinking of setting up a software engineering-based channel once I get a few years under my belt.
I don't know why. But I watch your video, I feel so calm and the way you deliver your home office setup. Love your room btw and I'm subscribing so that I can improve my channel ! 😊 Hello from Malaysia!
Love the aesthetic and purpose of your home office! If I had to choose just one thing about your office tour, it would be the cohesiveness, which is an underrated aspect of home offices. Some nice adulting going on! Going to have to make a video about my home set-up, I guess. Looking forward to the RUclips studio set-up.
Great job with the whole workspace. I love the amazing B-roll you put into this video! I thought for sure you would runout, but somehow you kept new and interesting footage coming throughout the video, with more and more details to keep interest. I wonder if the outdoor carpet on your gear bench will encourage damaging ESD (electrostatic discharge). All these devices should be housed and electronically protected from ESD, but I would avoid placing memory cards or bare electronics on those surfaces for fear or damage or memory corruption.
thanks! I'm glad you enjoyed it. Interesting point about the ESD. I've seen plenty of studios/people do the carpeted workbench but I've never thought about it. I keep my memory cards in cases, but good call for sure!
Love the set up, man. Loved the portion of the video where you talk about personal items you like to use to decorate your set up. I've noticed that a lot of "dream set ups" I see now look clean but lack any personality at all. Happy to see that you emphasized YOU in a "My Setup" type video.
Thank you Tommy! That seems to have resonated with a lot of folks and it makes me really happy to get comments like yours. I hope more people see this and understand what I’m saying there.
Fantastic video man. Beautiful visuals. No BS. Just you being you. Really enjoyed this video. Immediately subscribed because I could tell you're just a genuine guy and a businessman over a youtuber
Not sure it's really worth doing a tutorial on. You just buy the shelf with wood panels, some outdoor or marine carpet...get some wood glue and a staple gun and Bob's your uncle.
Really enjoyed this. I have the same two monitor brand/dimensions, maybe different models. Solid combo. I also like the bin organization, I run some IKEA bins but really like your suggestions for alternative options. I like your table/desk the best! The leg/corners just look amazing.
The legs are just such a gorgeous feature of this table. There are days where I wish I had bought the smaller version but its too late now. C&B discontinued the Big Sur line after 10+ years of it being in their catalog.
I love the personal accents you've incorporated into your styling. I want to emulate your approach of creating a space that reflects my life and my memories. I love the baseball you have... a HR ball your dad caught for you at Yankee Stadium. Where did you get that display case? It's gorgeous.
This is one of my favorite office designs I’ve seen. Are those custom covers/cases for the comic books? I have a project where I’m trying to make almost like a big vintage trading card for a poster.
Thanks! The comics are “slabbed” which means they were sent to CGC to get graded (officially given a quality rating) and then encapsulated. I forgot how much it cost me per book but I recall it took several months to get them back after dropping them off at a convention. It’s a scary process for first timers dropping off valuable books but the CGC is very reputable and reliable, plus slabbing books with good grades raises their resale value significantly.
Which one? The one that's on the wall? That's the "Beckett" from Crate & Barrel. I believe it's been discontinued. The other shelf is the Pilsen Graphite & Walnut, also from Crate & Barrel and I believe it's still available.
I love the video and especially that you have a HM Embody chair! I purchased the Logitech’s version chair brand new for $1100 shipped. You should do a video for your embody vs other desk/gaming chairs. I love my chair! I love your videos. Keep up the great work!
Great Video! Just subbed. Love so many little parts of what you've done but liked the advice about keeping in mind "who" you're designing for when doing your space! Right on! And of course great job filming and editing.
awesome video and office. love what you said at the end of the video about how you should design the office for YOU and not social media or anyone else.
Great video! Is the brickwork behind you "real" or is this a wallpaper? Moving into a new rental house next week, and the walls are a that yellow-ish white and super boring/unflattering on camera. Contemplating putting a peel and stick brick wallpaper looking just like yours.
Hi, I think Crate & Barrel discontinued the exact wall shelf, but it's from the Beckett line. Here are the shelves. bit.ly/3vtxgTq I think that if you search the web, you'll find an alternative. The lamp is actually something I found at Homegoods so I can't link it. No clue what the brand is or where its from.
I love the way you designed your space and that closet organization👌👌 I love it. Gotta design my closet space now lol Love the records as well definitely inspired bro
Wow looks amazing! Nice job! Never would have thought of a dinning room table for a desk, very clever. Man I want an ultra wide monitor for sure for editing that timeline! South Florida, Central Florida here! Dude that brick background is dead sexy! My wife needs to hear the last part of this video LOL I don't have that much control LOL
Agree so much on not going cheap on the things you use for work, to make income. Reminds me of how a carpenter would pay for quality tools because they will use them for years. I might buy cheaper tools for home because I don’t use them all the time. It is more about value overtime and a bit of joy :) vs. cheap/expensive.
Exactly! To be fair, the people complaining or gasping at expensive chairs are usually young adults or teens who haven't really been able to learn that lesson yet.
Something about having dual monitors has always been nice for productivity. One huge monitor would drive me crazy because I like to have one app open on one screen and another app full screen on the main. I do wish there was a more color accurate ultrawide display on the market though. I don't know how I'll like going back to a 16:9 display for video editing. That extra width is so nice for timelines.
You should check out the LG 32" UN880-b 4K with ergo arm. That's what I'm getting for color accuracy (photo/video editing) and the arm, in particular, is pretty awesome for my type of peninsula-style desk setup.
I swear Joe every time something pops in my head about video production one of you videos on the same topic shows up. It's getting kind of scary. I have been planning to redo my bedroom come the spring/summer and your video has given me much better insight on the route I should go than other videos I have seen.
Nice setup! I like the ambiance, the colors, and the personalization of it all! One tip: You need to run your GPUs in SLI in order to enjoy the most out of your graphic cards. By them physically not connected to each other, they don't share memory, or talk, if you will, to each other, so they are running as two separate modules. You need to physically connect both cards, either with NVLink or SLI, but NVLink should be a faster protocol, if the cards, support it.
Will do saving my pennies right now iam a console player so it need to be pacific to that so I thinking making a table top with the rising legs but trying to come up with an idea to have the consoles in one spot the hardest
awesome video!! I recently started looking into how to make my office more comfortable for me as I spend a lot of time photo editing and this is great advise. I specially love your gear storage, I've been looking for a better way to organize mine so seeing how you organize yours really helps. by the way how did you make that smaller shelve within the big one for your lenses?

Lol, what is minimal about this setup?
Haha Yeah I'm here man! Gonna be shooting in Miami Friday.
You’ve got to have lights, light stands, c stands and tripods around somewhere right? What sort of setup do you have to store those?
At that time, I just put the stands in the closet off to the side of the shelf.
Have you came up with something else since?

Are those custom covers/cases for the comic books?
I have a project where I’m trying to make almost like a big vintage trading card for a poster.
Thanks! The comics are “slabbed” which means they were sent to CGC to get graded (officially given a quality rating) and then encapsulated. I forgot how much it cost me per book but I recall it took several months to get them back after dropping them off at a convention.
It’s a scary process for first timers dropping off valuable books but the CGC is very reputable and reliable, plus slabbing books with good grades raises their resale value significantly.
Really lovely space you have here. Where did you get that ladder shelf?
Which one? The one that's on the wall? That's the "Beckett" from Crate & Barrel. I believe it's been discontinued. The other shelf is the Pilsen Graphite & Walnut, also from Crate & Barrel and I believe it's still available.

awesome video and office. love what you said at the end of the video about how you should design the office for YOU and not social media or anyone else.
thanks for watching, especially long enough that you got to the message at the end :) That means a lot to me.

That's a great personal space. I love the idea of a hidden workshop just next to the desk :)
Can you please include a link for the bookshelf you have (@ 9:12) and the table lamp shown @ 9:20? Great video and amazing setup!
Hi, I think Crate & Barrel discontinued the exact wall shelf, but it's from the Beckett line. Here are the shelves. bit.ly/3vtxgTq I think that if you search the web, you'll find an alternative.
@@joenicklo Yep, that is totally fair and everyone has a budget. It’s okay to pick your priorities and fit within your budget. All good!
I really like how organized and reflecting of your progress the office is. Goals 💯
Thank you!! 😊 Took a while and it's ever changing. I hope it inspires others.
awesome set up! and nice video man..Very clean, nicely lit and color graded... your voice is somewhat soothing too..haha.. you have my sub! Cheers
Hah! I appreciate it :)
I was considering an oddesy g9 ultrawide for my future setup but the dual monitor setup looks clean asf!
Shoot amazing space. I need all that .what’s the dimensions of the room. That desk is sick. I use a dining room table too!!
It’s a 10x11 room, pretty tight with that huge table.
You should check out the LG 32" UN880-b 4K with ergo arm. That's what I'm getting for color accuracy (photo/video editing) and the arm, in particular, is pretty awesome for my type of peninsula-style desk setup.
Checking it out now! Thanks for the suggestion.
wow, that thing is way more affordable than I had expected. 32" 4K is definitely nice too.
@@joenicklo Yeah, I thought about bigger, but, this size can go vertical if necessary.
This is the most inspiring office setup videos I ever watched. New subscriber here!
Welcome aboard! Glad you enjoyed it.
So damn 🔥. Creating my own room has beens a game changer for me even if its just to chill. Also, Im totally copying your shelving system.
Great video man! One of the best studio tours out there. Your gear closet is 100x more organised than mine
Thank you sir :) Glad you enjoyed it.
Awesome setup ! Nice choice for the Yamaha, got it in my studio and they're clearly one of the best monitor on the market 🔥
Totally agree!
one of my favourite RUclipsrs! love the home office setup, it pleases my OCD 😬 great video as always Joe!
I swear Joe every time something pops in my head about video production one of you videos on the same topic shows up. It's getting kind of scary.
I have been planning to redo my bedroom come the spring/summer and your video has given me much better insight on the route I should go than other videos I have seen.
LOL! I can tell you that the next video will be on....the Z Cam :D
Hey man, where did you get those stand up shelves? Love the industrial feel of those.
Which ones? The ones in the closet are from home depot. The one I’m using for my books and NAS server is the Pilsen shelf from Crate & Barrel.
This is quality content right here. And the broll 😭😭
Thanks Sidney! Appreciate you checking it out.
You deserve more subs!
Thank you!
Dude love the gear closet setup! Looks so clean!
Wait until you see the new setup!
The Yamaha AG03 is such a convenient little hybrid interface/mixer! Love the whole setup too - dropping a sub!
Nice setup!
I like the ambiance, the colors, and the personalization of it all!
One tip:
You need to run your GPUs in SLI in order to enjoy the most out of your graphic cards. By them physically not connected to each other, they don't share memory, or talk, if you will, to each other, so they are running as two separate modules. You need to physically connect both cards, either with NVLink or SLI, but NVLink should be a faster protocol, if the cards, support it.
Thanks! Negative on the SLI sir. Davinci resolve utilizes both cards independently and does not react well to SLI being enabled.
@@joenicklo Welp, that I didn't know... Thanks for the info!
That closet space is goals 2021
such a nice workspace! congratulations
Thank you!
Classic Wu tang!!! I love the set up

Definitely subscribing because of how clean, and well planned out this video production has been!
Thank you. I plan on putting out a new office tour in the new house 🏡
awesome video!!
Glad it was helpful! The smaller shelf was just a small plank of wood covered in outdoor carpet and two heavy duty shelf brackets.
This video is so good, you just got a new sub. b roll are amazing and the home office is absolutely fantastic! Great job!!!
Thank you 😊
Great space that does not look like a disco from the 80's
Haha! Yeah...I try to keep it classy.
"FOR ME...NOT for Social media" changes everything
