      @@maua2848 That's what Marcel said, Chopin was inspired by Field. This is noted by the way that Chopin's piece is listed as the one that was inspired and Field's piece being listed as the inspiration.

      Daniel Herrera oh oops i read it like: “seems like this nocturne was inspired by chopins nocturne” or something like that. stupid of me haha

      maybe because theyre both nocturnes? the same musical form? lol

    • @Vasioth
      @Vasioth 3 года назад +4

      @@archangel4597 John Field was the inventor of the piano nocturne (this is not to be confused with the evening Court Yard/Chamber music under the name Nocturne like the Notturno by Mozart for instance).
      Chopin knew of Field's Nocturnes and drew inspiration. The "form" itself is vague; each nocturne tends to be different and they're not in any one form like say ternary or binary or rondo.

      @@maua2848 yeah you're correct :) john field came before chopin and he had very heavy inspiration from john field's nocturnes. It's funny how john field's nocturnes are less well-known really.

    Chopin perfected it.

      Seems pretty perfect to me already. Chopin made more memorable melodies for sure but I don't know if that brings it closer to perfection.

    I’m not musical so please excuse my ignorance but if this melody line begins on F5 (I think!) why does it sound at the same pitch as the F just above middle C on my piano, which is C4 I think. Sorry for being so uneducated musically. I just love piano music but only have extremely basic knowledge of reading music notes.

    • @carlos5647
      @carlos5647 6 месяцев назад

      Your piano might be out of tune?? I’m not very in line with how piano tuning is supposed to work but that’s the only explanation I have

      I believe that the performer opened the sustain pedal before playing the first note. That won't make any difference on your electric piano but on an acoustic piano it creates a sympathetic resonance where every F string on the instrument will vibrate softly along with the note that he actually played. These sympathetic notes are much much fainter than the primary note but they can be picked up on if you have a very good ear. You may have noticed the sympathetic resonance of F4, then you noticed that there is only one opening F in the sheet music and started questioning what you heard.
      The truth? The primary pitch is definitely F5 but every other F on the performer's piano is also singing along.
