    Funny you tried out the Kong silicone brush. I purchased it last week to groom my rabbit. Thought it would work pretty good and it does. Love it. Every bunny owner should have one. Also gets the job done faster.

    I literally admire people when they are able to cut their bun's nails so swiftly and quick. Mine usually let's me cut his nails (of course with TONS of attitude) but his most recent nail session was like the worst ever. I'm not sure is it because he has gotten older or have my grooming skills decreased cuz I'm sick and all. I took a longer time to cut nails because his fur on the paws are quite long and blocking my way, I have used water or even mesh net to try to move the fur away and make the nails session faster but he just doesn't like it when things touched his paw. I'm currently dreading for nail session in a few weeks as I'm out of ideas :")

    Living in NC, our rescue buns are not seasonal shedders. They are constant shedders. It is massive and the air conditioning blows it up in the air to settle on walls, floor, my hair, my allergy mask, even settles in my mouth. Yes, it is 4000% worse at shedding seasons, but just petting the buns loosens fur all year long it seems. I never come away with palms completely free of fur.

  • @Itslvle
    @Itslvle 2 года назад +2

    I groom my buns while I'm petting them. The other fella has such ridiculously dense fur that you can keep plucking at the same spot and it feels like the fur will never stop coming off. It feels like less of a chore when I just pluck it by hand while the other hand pets the bunny. Any type of brush means I have to stop petting to clean the brush and it starts to feel like work.

      @@Cheifs51gunner Thank you. He is being force fed critical care with a syringe and on the third prescription now. He’s active and wants to be pet constantly but he won’t eat since he had that anesthesia, so they could do X-rays and work on his teeth. It all started about a year ago when he began sneezing a lot. Now he has a bald spot under his chin, his eyes are wet, he still sneezes. I give him a treat and he takes it but drops it. He won’t eat anything. Not even his favorite treats.

    I am stunned that you do this in the kitchen....and apparently with a fan on?! The fur was wafting away in every direction. And you kept amassing fur in a big pile just sitting on the counter? Why not have a small trash bag there? What a mess!!! My buns don't get anywhere near the kitchen and I have two air purifiers at the entrance to catch any fur that even thinks about heading that way. It's bad enough having hair all through the bedroom and living room....I just vacuumed the blinds again yesterday. It's crazy insane the shedding going on here in Florida right now. But fur in my kitchen is a huge NO! By the way, welcome to Florida! 😃

    My bunnies are very shy and don’t like to be handled so it’s always stressful to try and catch them to be groomed. Any suggestions on how to pick them up without chasing them down?

    • @SpinSatx
      @SpinSatx 2 года назад

      Well my bunny can be the same occasionally... but I make sure to do it on his time. If he runs from me, I let him run and then try again, but I won't chase him around... it may take a week or 2 until they finally feel like you won't chase them anymore lol, and they will trust you more.
      My rabbit hates being picked up, so I don't ever pick him up unless I really have to. When I use to pick him up daily, he would run from me for at least several days until he forgot or felt I wouldn't pick him up anymore lol.

      The only way we can do it is one of us wraps the bunny in a towel, holds the bunny with his or her back pressed against the body of the person holding it so it can hurt its back, and the other person clips the nails. I have never understand how Hailey does it all by herself!! Our exotic vet tech showed us. Maybe a family member or friend could help. Good luck.
