  • UBOAT is a WW2 submarine simulator game where you are a captain of a UBOAT. As the captain it will be up to you to ensure that you have all the necessary supplies for your UBOAT and be able to manage your crew. You will be faced with very tough challenges and even tougher decisions that you will have to make on the fly.
The UBOAT campaign takes place between 1939 - 1945 and will see you patrolling all over the Atlantic in hunt for lone ships and large convoys. After spotting your target you will have the challenge on manually imputing all the proper information before finally firing your torpedo and watching as you send thousands of tons worth of shipping to the bottom of the ocean. Did I mention that should you not want to use a torpedo to sink a ship, you have the mighty 88 mm deck gun!
Accept mission and be rewarded through a leveling system in game that allows you to upgrade your officers and give them special abilities that will help you in your future campaigns. Completing missions will also reward you with currency that you can use to upgrade your UBOAT and make it even more difficult for the enemy to discover you and better yet...sink you.
Buy equipment for you crew, gather information to acquire new specialized torpedo's, and send your officers on missions to discover new and special tasks through the world map.
This is your boat and you get to command it however you like. Happy hunting!

if you really want to know what the tankers were transporting you can go to 24:31. The game actually gives you that information. Also if you see a ship with a neutral flag you can board the ship and check the documents if they are trading with the united kingdom it's okay to sink them.
I really am enjoying the series!

The Ol class vessels were Tankers. They probably carried refined oil products such as vehicle grade 80 octane gasoline or aviation 100 Octane gasoline. That's why there were no containers of cargo on the surface. Only oil would have been floating there instead. Good job on keeping your head under a bit of pressure.

You should inspect ships headed towards the UK. They usually have cargo bound there and you can tell them to abandon ship and you can shoot the thing with a few rounds. With no crew, they sink fast.

Nice! I wish i could find a convoy just sailing in a lovely staight line like that! I think for the early game in typeii you have to find stuff like that so you can build xp of crew and get to a type vii aa quick as possible.

Always enjoy your videos, there are a couple others I try and watch but most seem to just complain about what the game is doing wrong instead of just playing. Keep up the good work

@crazedJester A little tip what I did with my IIA Sub before I unlocked the Type IID: on way to the patrol grid I used diesel engines in slow speed to charge the batteries and then switch to electric engines and go 2/3 speed. Saved alot of fuel!

You should have used the old U boat commander's trick of filling up the fuel tanks with the ships cooking oil. Pisses off the cook thou. 😕

Saw that you almost turned of the "alarm enabled" around 8:50 and believe you confused it with the buzzer sound right before that which is not the same as alarm. The Alarm was enabled by the captain at 6:40 ish and is considered a silent alarm (since there was no ringing at the time). For those that do not know. What that "alarm enabled" means is that your whole crew is put on alarm as in "all to battle positions, targets insight". When you turn this off all crew goes back to normal schedule except for the officers you have ordered directly. Turning alarm of is probably not what you want when you are engaging targets. What the buzzer is I do not know. I thought it was related to receiving radio messages but I could not see that you received any at the time.

I believe the Empire Carey was the freighter you passed up before attacking the tankers. Could be wrong though

Also, Jester, a question. I was coming back to home port yesterday, and when I went to the warehouse all I got was "Equipment", "Food", and "Galley". The galley was 3-4 times down, and couldnt restock fuel or torpedos... Starting a new game however, fixed that. Is there something I did to make that happen? :O

    • @Garryck-1
      @Garryck-1 3 месяца назад +2

It's a known bug.. until the fix comes out, you can resupply at other ports instead of Wilhelmshaven.. I'm told that leaving port then returning can sometimes fix it, too.

@@Garryck-1 Ahh, so it is a bug then.. I started a new campaign and no issues now. Have made the port outside of Wilhelmshaven now, so have a backup in case it happens again! Thank you :D

I've been sneaking into their ports and finding much success, sinking cargo ships that are tied to the docks. Sometimes there are no ships, sometime a couple, and sometimes five or six. They're just sitting there, waiting to be sunk. You should try it.

I noticed you didn’t think that your boat could make it to Ireland to land an agent.. actually you could make that if you just keep engine and navigation fully crewed. It extends your range a lot but I totally don’t blame you for taking the tonnage patrol to unlock the blueprint for the next boat lol.

I appreciate your easy going nature, explanations and the narratives you continue through the uboat crews. It feels like I’m watching my cool older brother play a fun game! Keep it up man!
