I don’t know if this is something you would ever want to do but it would be so cool to see a photography how to series. I am having trouble figuring out my DSLR. I know how to use it but I feel like I’m not getting the best use out of it and just scratching the surface of its capabilities
Okay I'll think about it! I've always been hesitant to do camera videos because I feel like they're very specific and wasn't sure if the majority of people would be interested at all. Good to know! :)
Allison Anderson please do a series like that! I guess there are quite a lot of people out there, who would like to learn how to make good photos every time. Even just for social media! :)
I find your videos so calming... like you're not over the top or loud, and you have a very peaceful voice. Is that weird to say? I wish you did more videos.
If you want to stay in the mirrorless world and want in body stabilization, I highly recommend the Olympus OM-D E-M1 mk 2 camera. It has by far the the best IBS of any consumer camera out there. Plus if you use it with (Olympus) lenses that also have IS, you get a few more stops. It's really amazing.
I use a Canon t6i Rebel. It's not super comprehensive and I do wish that it had more variety for ISO settings but it is VERY reliable, and the battery in it holds out for ages. I've worked as a wedding and engagement photographer with it, and I've travelled to 8 different countries (Canada, Mexico, Iceland, Portugal, Austria, Italy, France, India, so all VERY different temperatures/climates) with it so far. It's not bulky and it's just great. I love it. It's not stupid expensive either. On top of that, I've also shot pretty well all my RUclips videos on it (granted some of the earlier ones aren't great quality bc learning curve, but that was more user error than camera issue) and the audio quality is pretty great. I haven't used a mic with it, and you can always hear what I'm saying quite clearly, even when I'm speaking quietly. EDIT: this link is not to promote, but just for context. I took this last year on the Canon t6i Rebel and as far as editing, I only made the colours more vibrant, the clarity is all the camera: instagram.com/p/B5Be7iVB6AK/ OR instagram.com/p/B4nCObzhtL-/
I travel all the time for photography work. I'd love to see your "what's in my camera bag" video. It's always great to see how others organize & what they take with them.
Damn. I have been using the X-T2 for years and travelling with it too. I didn't know about the low operating temp. And I never thought of using the interval like that. Nice ✌️ 😉
I loved this video. I used to be a Fuji XT-2 user with some great fuji lenses, but last year I moved to Lumix G9. I was really looking for the fully-articulated screen and fuji disappointed me. Lumix G9 with their latest lense 10-25 f/1.7 combo is good. IBIS is also great in the Lumix series. The only thing I missing is Fuji's color science which is great for still photography. I also have G7X II and GoPro 7 beside my main camera.
i use fuji x70 and lumix gm1 with 35-100mm lens.. it covers all focal length on a smallest package. the downside is that it's bad for video (i use it mostly for photography). sometimes i bring lumix 20mm 1.7 lens for bokeh.
My four camera setup for stills (I don't shoot video): Sony full-frame A7iii and Sony A6400 and A6600... I also have an oldie but, goodie Sony NEX-7 that is modified for full-time infrared... I don't always carry all of these cameras along on a day's shoot but often travel with the entire set...
So I put the m50 on my wishlist the day this video came out (6 days ago). Today is my 30th and my husband had bought it for me! Good timing! I think I'll probably retire my old t4i for this little guy with an adapter. Thanks for the recommendation!
I just love all your videos. ESP the travel or solo travel. They make me happy 😊. You have a great video aesthetic. I love it!! Just had to tell you. I get so excited when I see a new one.
I love all of your content! Your videos, instagram posts, and your blog! I'd love to see a what's in my camera bag video. Could you also do a video on how you edit your photos? I love how you edit them! Your solo travel is really inspiring, especially to me being a newer travel blogger and in my really early 20s 💜
"Everyone knows how to take a picture on a smart phone these days". SO TRUE. Every time I hand my real camera to someone now, I can legit feel their panic, and the shots usually come out as pure garbage. They're never in focus and the framing is so weird. I've had people even swear at the camera while they're taking pictures and that's when you KNOW the shot is going to come out terribly. :( I love the drone shots so much - as you said it really elevates the video you're doing. I can't bring myself to spend the money (I think the one you mentioned is around $1500-2000 here in Canada), but dang do they ever take good shots!
Looking for you opinion on the new Sony ZV-E10 camera. Trying to find and all round mid range (below £1000) camera. I understand I will have to invest in an all round lens with built in stabilisation. I think this little camera can do so much but would value your opinion.
Hey girl! You mentioned that you RENTED your camera for your Alaska trip. Can you go into a little more depth on how you did that? That’d be so cool! btw I remember watching your videos ever since you started your beauty videos! I’m in love with your content- it’s so spot on the topics I want to see! Keep them coming!
I do alot of travel photography. I use the canon 750D. I'm still learning the features of it but till now, most of the pictures I've taken are really good except it doesn't work during humidity.. and we have alot of humidity here in Dubai😂
I thought I’d add in here, Olympus cameras I believe have a much lower minimum temperature than other cameras. I love mine! But I haven’t tested them in super cold
You ever think about getting the Fuji 16-55mm F/2.8 that way you can travel without your 16mm F/1.4 and make your kit one less lens? I found the F1.4 and F2.8 to be not very different at the 16mm focal length unless you're doing astrophotography or night time shots without artificial light. Thanks for the video, I think you should do a Camera Gear video every year since I bet it changes sometime.
I have a question about how do you carry your cameras in trips? I'm going on a trip but I read that bringing a backpack is not very safe so I was wondering how do you travel with all the cameras?
Thanks so much for making this video Allison! So informative - i have the G7x markii and then the Nikon D850 and I've really been thinking about selling both and getting a all in one camera...
I have a canon t6i which is great for my sitting down videos, but not so much for vlogging. Lol Thanks for the info! I need something with stabilization built in! 😂
Why do you wish the fuji had a full frame sensor? Do you need more crop? I think fuji IQ is very comparable to FF cameras... less crop. Your work is beautiful, keep rocking the fuji😄
I’m a complete newbie, but I just got the Fujifilm X-T20. I still don’t know a lot about photography (never tried shooting with primes lenses!) but I can’t wait to learn more. I’m also curious to see your camera gear/camera case!
I had messaged wanting to know what camera you use so this video was super helpful!! If you could only either bring the 16mm or 35mm traveling for scenic shots and shots with yourself in them which would you choose!? I’m saving for a camera but can only afford one lens at the moment. Also I would LOVE a what’s in my camera bag video!! 💕
Can I ask what you do to make sure you’re allowed to bring a drone to other countries? Do you get permits or do other things? We want to take ours to Cancun Mexico but kinda don’t want it confiscated
Hi which cameras can you advise me to invest in as a totally beginner traveler camera . I am really in need of some great advices and suggestions. I am totally lost and confused with all the options.😅
How many cameras do you have? I'm in the market and have been watching all your camera related videos. I love the Fuji design (external dials) but I'm not sure how important IBIS and Full frame is for my first 'fancy' mirrorless. help!
HOW do you prepare your videos, do you just turn on the camera and talk without any script or do u script the videos, if yes, how do you do it. hope it's not a weird question lol I just started youtube and I'm not good at this.

Appreciate you explaining this for beginners like me!!
Sony a6600 w/16-55mm F/2.8 for me. I use to travel with 3 primes but sold them all for this. One lens one camera to rule them all!
Great video!

Can you use 2 at a time?
Do you use a specific strap or so?
