I have that shovel and love it. It's built like a German tank. I'm searching for more of their tools now which is how I came upon your video. There was a rubber upgrade option when I bought mine, and it came with the foot protector too. I don't feel the shock as much.

The spade is made for digging balls in a nursery ..thats why is design like that.. that is a digging machine.. The handle is Metal so you can pry on it while you break tap roots..wood handle couldn't take it..

This is a digging monster, I use the pointed edge and it’s lasted 30yrs + of landscaping and stream restoration. Chopping into rocks can be rough but you learn to adjust grips. Also drilling a hole into the body and filling it with led will chop any root you can dream of

Thanks for the tip on the lead! It’s definitely a root cutting monster already.

Thanks for the review. Making me have second thoughts in buying it. Glad I watched your video

It has been a great shovel. It’s super solid. But like stated in the video. It doesn’t take the shock like a wooden handled shovel would. I’ve grown more used to it. I would buy again but also wish I could find a quality wooden handle variant. I bought a Jackson shovel which used to be a good quality but the d handle is crooked which is disappointing.

Lowes has a Kobalt made with heavy steel for about $33... Lifetime warranty and it's great.

I’m almost certain that the handle on your old shovel is a much cheaper replacement. The old TrueTemper shovels with the numbered (2) stamps are really awesome. If you still plan to use the old one, go find a decent handle replacement. Am Leonard makes good stuff, as does Jackson/Ames.

That’s a great idea! I still have the shovel.

Try buying some "winn" grips for it. They are used on fishing rod grips and golf clubs and bike handlebars.

Maybe try baseball bat grip wrap. I'm still thinking about this as a home owner and the constant garden projects

If this spade can dig up bamboo without bending and creaking, I'm sold.....I've tried 'em ALL and most bend..eventually and some handles have broken! However bamboo is a real tester. I'm a landscaper and I'd appreciate your input!

I don't have much experience with bamboo. What I do know is it's nasty stuff! This head is very sturdy and heavy. I don't suspect it will bend. But like I mentioned the metal handle carried the hit directly to your hand. No wood to soften the blow. Jackson also make a similar spade with a wooden handle. Also heavy steel for the head.

I have 2 different models of this same mfg. One a longer skinnier spade, the other a round nose shovel. They are super stout. I have used it frequently as a pry bar on some big ass rocks as well as a few other instances were a rock/pry bar would have been the much saner choice, with zero issues. I would be highly surprised if you were to have any issues on bamboo. The straight edge on a spade cuts through roots like butter.

Metal handles are rough when digging in hard rocky ground the shock is brutal at times. Like a digging bar

If you believe Jesus was God in the flesh and call on his name you will be forgiven your sins because He is God who took on human form and offered Himself as a sacrifice. Be on the lookout for Satan's impending appearance on earth where he will pretend to be Jesus. Jesus was eating at Simon's house (Simon was a leper whom Jesus had healed) a few days before He was crucified when a lady arrived with a box of priceless ointment and anointed Him with its contents. The disciples thought the woman was crazy since she might have sold the ointment and donated the money to the needy. She had anointed him for burial, Jesus said, and he commanded that what he had done be reported so that she would be remembered wherever the gospel is preached.
