Honestly I think Dorkrockcorkrod is one of, if not the best pop-punk record ever written.

Hi- Seattle local here. Just wanted to let you know that I loved this video but also have a small correction. You posted the poster for the wrong year of Seattle Pop Punk Fest. It was the one in 2020 which The Ergs played, not 2019. I was joking with Mikey before the show, asking if they were just gonna play all of Upstairs Downstairs, and he was like “actually, we’ve been talking about that.” And then they played the whole record PLUS the deep cuts and hits in their catalog. I had my copy of Upstairs Downstairs in my car and had them all sign it. I wish you were at that show!!

Just talked to Mikey today, he has seen some of your videos. I can't remember exactly what he said about this one, but it wasn't negative. What others have said about him is true, he's a good guy.

I saw the Ergs in Durham around the mid-2000s. I was a new teacher, and some of the H.S. kids from my school were surprised to see me in the pit. Good times.

I love the Ergs! and had the pleasure of meeting Mikey in Montreal last year. Really nice guy!

As a lifelong fan of good pop-punk, I found out about The Ergs waaaaaayyyy too late, but when I first heard Dork Rock Cork Rod I was immediately sold. When they popped up on The Chris Gethard Show (apart from Mikey being the drummer for the amazing house band) I was hyped as fuck. So goddamn good.

I got to see Mikey erg at a basement show in my hometown for the tour of his self titled album. I started asking him questions about like the bands that he’s been in and like which one was the most fun and so on. And rather than answer questions about himself he turned every question on me and was like a man what are you into like I don’t wanna talk about myself like would you like to do then he saw a weird Alpin and we literally talked about “Weird Al” for 15 minutes and how big of an influencer years and you know how everything about him is wonderful. Mikey erg is phenomenal as a human and musician

Ha, awesome! Someone told me they saw some of my videos on here so I looked it up. I can't believe you managed to sum them up in roughly ten minutes. I think I've thrown one more set of theirs up since this was published.

Love The Ergs! A good friend of mine put me on them, Chinese Telephones, and Tiltwheel. And you weren't kidding about the Night Birds, that band is absolutely incredible.

I met them in 05 at a party gig in Freehold NJ, playing with the largely unknown band The Fred Mertz Experience, who were around from 89 thru 16 but only played sporadic shows after 04. I played rhythm guitar. Both bands kicked ASS that night and it was a good party.

After listening to them I think their sound would have fit perfectly into (and shares some similarities with) the late 80's UK scene that Snuff, Perfect Daze, Goober Patrol etc came out of.

I lived in New Brunswick and played in a few bands at the time, and the Ergs were kind of always a thing right off the bat. Meaning, all they had to do was play a show, and they were on everyone's mind afterwards. Great band for sure!
