- We created this video in conjunction with SES (www.ses.com), a worldwide satellite company with headquarters in Luxembourg. SES is a great group to collaborate with, we worked closely together in the interest of creating compelling 4K footage that highlighted 4K/ULTRA HD capabilities with color, movement, and detail.
Check out the full length video that we made with them including footage from Chicago, St. John, Paris, and Luxembourg. This video is currently being broadcast by SES via its satellites.

This is the sharpest thing i have ever seen on a monitor. This is as sharp as the reality. Sharper than any high resolution wallpaper. Damn, those colors are so pure and perfect.
I could watch this for hours!!! So relaxing and wonderful. You can see so much details, when things happen in slowmo. Some parts, which you never noticed, because normally way too fast. Those cameras do kinda stop the time, an engineering marvel!

And I thought the new iPhone 6's 240fps slow-mo was impressive. This just goes to show and incredible humans are with not only technology and capturing life in a mind-blowing 1K fps but also how we miss things because life moves so fast. Slowing things down is just what we need to take it all in. Love what you guys do, always blown away by your work!
Released today in the wake of IBC - a slow motion video shot entirely on the Phantom Flex 4K. This camera creates a beautiful image, the slow motion in 4K is surreal. We worked in conjunction with SES a satellite company based in Luxembourg. The SES version is now being broadcast in 4K (if you can believe it) via satellite. Check out the video description for more details.
I loved watching this in 4k at 2x speed I just wish they had higher refresh rates in monitors at 4k. Thank you for all of the content that you have given the starving community.

JLK Edits Well you probably got one by now. I just got a Seiki 4k for $400 and it's every bit as good as my brothers LG 4k . He paid $1250. He hates me! They are incredible. They are already working on 8k, from what the Tiger salesman told me.

This is impressive. And the interesting thing is that this was shot on a Phantom Flex 4K which can shoot at 1000FPS in 4K. But this video obviously wasn't uploaded at 1000FPS as RUclips doesn't even support 4K @ 60p yet, and none of our displays / monitors have a refresh rate of 1MHz (1000 Hz). That said, we can't even fully appreciate the smoothness and the slo-mo effect of this video, I can only imagine how would it be to see it uploaded at 1000FPS on a 1000Hz refreshing display. Would be awesome.
Vylkeer Of course the video wasn't uploaded at 1,000 FPS... It was shot in 1,000 FPS and is slowed down to 30 FPS [guesstimating here] (3% of the actual speed or 33x slow mo). That is why it is in such slow motion with each frame actually being unique. RUclips comments... they never fail to give me a good laugh. A 1,000hz display would be absolutely pointless. An EXTREMELY small number of people (such as some of the most skilled fighter pilots) can distinguish frames occasionally at 255 FPS, but only about 25% of the population when tested can even distinguish anything above 60 FPS (such as experienced gamers). Take the average individual and sit them down in front of a 144hz monitor and a 60hz monitor and they won't be able to tell the difference.
lahma69 I didn't say a 1000Hz display was needed. I actually know that the max the human eye can distinguish is about 220 - 240FPS. In fact the best thing would be to have something shot at 240FPS and displayed on a 240Hz display, even if slowed down at 30FPS. Maybe a FreeSync-enabled display might come handy. But most people can definitely see above 60FPS.

The flex 4k looks great! I use the flex 2k so I can see a big difference in quality.

The 4K version of the video has higher bitrate, so even if it's not seen in an actual 4K display, the quality is better.

Wow... Amazing as always. I love your work and I think your`re a master of what you`re doing. The only thing about this video that I don`t like so much and which confuses me a bit is the shot at 5:50 of the two hands at the (I don`t know the word exactly ... I am from Germany :-) ) high bar. I think it doesn`t fit in this video becaus we haven`t seen gymnasts at the high bar yet. Only girls on the balance beam...
But apart of this this video is a masterpiece.

jannik liebl Tough question, the video is so long because we had a hard time cutting pieces out. I love the shot of the gymnasts because their torso stay still and their legs wrap around their body, it's super surreal. The gymnasts got a real kick out of seeing their moves so slow.
